  4. Thanks for thinking of me. I'm so excited and a bundle of nerves. What about you? I'm trying not to focus on the whole "surgery" part. For some reason (lol) it's freaking me out. Good luck to you as well. Should be fun to see results along the way. I'm looking forward to the journey. Have you seen the April Avengers group that is forming?

What a relief. I am so thankful!!!!

  9. Hi! My name is Mariah and I am new to LapBandTalk. I am planning on having the lapband surgery. I am waiting for my insurance approval and surgery date. My surgeon is Dr. Cirangle. I am so excited. I have been reading so many posts. This is a great site! I' ve been having a huge problem controlling my eating since my final decision. I did well for about a week, but as my as usual, when I get nervous or emmotional I overeat. I can't wait until that is no longer an option. I am hoping for a surgery date in April(hopefully mid). I've been contemplating this for two years now. I wish I had decided to follow through two years ago, but I guess I just wasn't ready. Any way I'd love to make some friends that have or will be going through some of the same issues I am.

I am in northern California, about 5 hours north of SanFrancisco. I can totally relate to your story about thinking you were fat and weren't. Seems funny now. Today was so frustrating. My coworker was telling me about a diet pill she just started. She said maybe I should put the surgery off and try it. The funny thing is that I was already on it about 3 years ago. I gained all the weight back plus some. I just want a permanent solution. I know that everyone wants to help, but I've made up my mind. After, a 15 minute conversation about how she thought I should rethink my decision, I gave up. I'm having a hard time talking to people about this at work. I'm wondering if I should have kept it to myself. How was day 3 of your liquid? Have you heard anything from the insurance company yet? Your date is set for the 5th, right? I saw that someone else on this forum got their approval on the insurance web site. I searched mine, but couldn't find a place for pre aproval. I just got my kids in bed and now its my time to relax.

I've enjoyed chatting with you. Do you live in New York? I am out here in california. How is your liquid going? AARRGG!! My time is comming. It's all worth it. I just hope this band gives me the control I need. I can't wait to be "me" again. I long for Energy!! I've been wondering what my energy level will be like with caloric intake of 400 - 800 calories per day. Seems sooo low. I'm not complaining- just a little curious.
  12. Just noticed that your band date is the day after mine. Wow! Are you getting nervous? I am getting so excited. I've been looking in the windows of clothing stores I haven't shopped in for years and realizing that I'll soon be shopping there again. How old was Pebbles when she stopped growing? Sasha is almost six months and she's 4.9 pounds. I'm hoping she doesn't get too much bigger, but ofcourse I'll love her all they same. She's my first Yorkie and what a personality. My boys just adore her and she loves them.

  13. Yes, my boys are wonderful and very loving, especially my oldest. He is very attached to his mommy. My yongest is a little more rough and tumble. I have to travel out of town to have the surgery and am hoping they will do okay with it. I will also be out of town the week before for work. They really aren't used to me being gone. I don't want to tell them about the surgery because I don't want them to worry, but its amazing what kids pick up on. How are your children dealing with your surgery? Have you talked to them about what is going to happen? My kids always want me to sit with them until they are done eating. Infact, thats when most of my overeating occurs. Should be interesting. It sounds like it will take lots of time to get through all the chewing though. How is your liquid diet going? Are you doing the protien drinks? Hope all is well!!

we just set the date tody for the surgey. Still no word from the insurance company. I wanted to get it done asap so we set the date. Hopefully, I won't need to reschedule. Thank you for you great advice. I,ve gotten some books and they have helped too.
  15. just wodering if that is a Yorkie in your picture. It looks like it but my screen is too small to tell. I love Yorkies. Have a little one named sasha.

  16. Oh wow!! I don't have to do the liquid diet. I think my family would disown me. I am hoping the 3 weeks of liquid after surgery will go smoothly. I was wondering the same thing with my insurance company. My surgeons office filed the paperwork. I did speak to my insurance company before they filed the papers to see what my coverage was. but, that is it. I would like to call, but like you am afraid to interfere. I guess we have every right to know what's going on though. how old are your children? My boys are 3 and 6. Fun times!!!
  17. Cheryl Ann, I have a surgery date set for April 15th and have not heard from my insurance yet. I am soooo hoping for approval. I really don't want to make a later date. I've been trying so hard to keep a positive outlook on the whole process. This is just a small part of the journey. Where are you having yours done? Best of luck! I sure it will all come together.

    A Date has been set

I just read the book you are speaking of. I found it very interesting, but frustersting because she had the RNY. Do you know of any books that focus more on the band? I first heard the quote in weight watchers. I am hoping the band will help me to really remember that nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for your support. It looks like you are doing fabulous with the band. It's nice to know that there are so many people out there that this procedure has worked for. What do you think the most important advice is for a soon to be bander? I had my appointment with my pcp today and I actually lost 2 pounds. I think I am just becommming more aware of what I am putting in my mouth. 3 out of my 5 reccomended books arrived today. 2 of them are cook books for after surgery and one has a little bit of everything. Can't wait to get reading. Anyway, Thank you again for your support. I am so happy to have found this site!!:Dancing_biggrin:
