I've not read the effects of alcohol on post operative care. Is it allowed? I'm not talking about getting smashed. Is a beer or two allowed? A glass or two of wine? I know it is probably not a good idea, but is it prohibited.

I'm developing a jowl problem, very unattractive. Would liposuction help? What is the name of the doctor you used and where is he/she located? Thanks in advance

This doctor is unconscionable!! He is one of the many reasons insurance is so bloody high in this country. This doctor should be EXPOSED! And the insurance company should be exposed for not caring that the charge was exorbitant! It affects us all indirectly. Gerry

I want to have lap band surgery and without insurance I will need to go to Mexico, probably Tijuana since it will be closer and more convenient. The boards are wonderful with lots of information that I am absorbing in enormous amounts. Yet, they can be confusing. I think I have decided on a surgeon and then, wham, I hear something negative about him. I know that there are risks, but I need to be sure the odds are in my favor. I would not be able to afford the costs , if I had erosions or slippage I have heard about on the board. Which doctors stand behind their work? This is important to me. I have been leaning toward Kuri, Lopez or Ortiz or possibly Joya in Puerto Vallarta. I fear the cluster of patients with problems may involve Ortiz, Lopez and Kuri. What to do? What to do? I have been lurking for a few days now and am very grateful to this forum. I have decided a lap band procedure would be very beneficial for me. The discussions on the doctors who do this surgery has been important. I know that cost is not the only consideration , but it is important that I find a doctor who is competent and competitive, since I have no insurance. Although I have not read every thread, there does not seem to be much discussion on the final price of this operation. It would help me enormously, if I could get a sense of what I can anticipate financially. I have no problem with Mexican doctors. Does anyone have information on doctors in other areas, eg Panama, Costa Rico, etc. Thanks, Gerry
