(current 202)(total lost 27)(down 2 this week) Two lbs in a week is a lot for me...but I was filled to choking and then unfilled some. Switched to Metformin from Actos this week, may be helping also.

Poll - Do you use fitday.com or something else?
lianna replied to Bandster Brad's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I love fitday. I also use fittogether.net to track measurements. -
Your dog is way too cute! What an expression on his face!

If you got something stuck Sunday, and this has been going on full force since then...you may have an obstruction (something LITERALLY still stuck). The other possibility is that you are still too tight and/or cant get the swelling from PBing to dissipate. You need to go back to see your doctor regardless. You probably need a complete/partial unfill to let the irritation and swelling go down, your doctor will know what needs to be done. Dont let this minor bump in the road make you second guess the surgery. Once you feel better your positive outlook will return! P.S. Let us know what your doctor did! I just realized after posting this that you said you get to see him today! Are you all better now?

Tuesday 202 lbs 199 is so close I can taste it. I have actually lost 8 lbs since February 7th. I have picked up the pace a bit. I need to get off my big butt and start working out. I am hoping to hit 199 by March 21, which gives me 2 weeks to lose 3 lbs.....since i am averaging 1.5 a week I think I can do it without any problem.

Ralheit, I will be sending good thoughts your way in the morning! I remember well the fear/excitement. Check back in and let us know how it went as soon as you feel up to it!

The Lean Cuisine has a Steak with portabello mushrooms and broccoli that is okay. I think it is Weight Watchers that has Chicken Marsala with broccoli that is good. I try to avoid the ones that have pasta or potatos and there are actually a few out there!

What are people snackin' on these days?
lianna replied to aligirrl77's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Lately I have been on a pistachio and almond kick. I cant eat very many though or they start feeling too heavy. For about a month I was on a dill pickle kick. I dont have much of a sweet tooth, but I love the sugar-free Reeses mini peanut butter cups when I get the urge for something sweet. -
I am another Unjury fan. But I sometimes get the Atkins Advantage canned ones at Walmart just because they are premixed and I can throw one in my little fridge in my classroom. They taste okay but i like them mostly because of the low sugar/carb count, they only have 1g sugar and 18g protein.

I drink a 12oz glass of Water first thing in the morning before I even make coffee. I drink two 16.9oz bottles between Breakfast and lunch. I drink another 16.9oz bottle between lunch and getting off work. (I only take one bottle to work with me and refill it at the Ozarka dispenser.) I drink a 12oz glass of water an hour before bed to make sure everything is washed through. That is routine for me and from doing that I get about 75oz of water. Added to that, I usually have 2 cups of coffee in the morning and some Crystal light or green tea when I get home and start fixing dinner. I find it pretty easy to get in all the fluids, but I have always been a big water drinker (and have never liked sodas anyway). Yes, lol, I make frequent trips to the ladies room.

Absolutely. I no longer get heartburn. My bloodsugar has remained more stable. My ankles no longer get edema. I am feeling and looking better. So many other reasons I think of right of the bat.

I had surgery on a Wednesday and went back to work the following Wednesday. The first 3 days are the worst with the soreness and gas pains, and then it gets better each day. I think it actually made me feel BETTER to put on makeup, fix my hair, and get out among the real world. I get in a funk if I go more than the occasional day in sweats, ponytail, and no makeup, lol.

I could have wrote the first part of your post! I am the worlds worst insomniac, and have been for as long as I can remember. I even wake my husband sometimes...."honey, are you asleep?", lol. It is just so frustrating to be laying in bed wide awake knowing I will feel like crap the next day from lack of sleep. I have tried numerous meds but hate the hangover feeling they give me, even Benadryl leaves me groggy. I will have to ask my doc about the Lunesta. Thanks for sharing.

Like Jack said, Keep reading.... I dont recall seeing anyone that hasnt lost "any" weight after several months, most are pretty successful. Some dont lose as much or as fast, that is a fact. Many issues play into the rate of loss, metabolic problems being the greatest one. Many bandsters have thyroid problems, PCOS, Insulin Resistance, etc... The band just helps out. I edited this to add: my 25 lbs in just over 4 months may not seem like a lot, but it almost an exact average of 1.5 lbs per week. I am not losing at the speed of lightening, but consider myself very successful. I am right on target with Inameds goal of 1-2 lbs per week.

I think many of the questions are really asked not because people dont know the answer, but because they want reassurance. For example, it is one thing to read about PBs.... but when you are actually having your first PB you are thinking "holy cow, this hurts! is this normal". Actually experiencing something vs. reading or being told about it is not the same thing. I personally did research for a year, but about 2 weeks post banding I was TRULY wondering if it was normal to feel as freaking hungry as I felt.....No, I personally didnt ask that question, but some people WILL...they just want to hear someone confirm "YES, it normal". -
229 Heaviest and Surgery. 204 current. I have been very happily married for 13 years. I met my husband at a friends BBQ and think it was literally love at first sight. All those chemical reactions were in full force!! We have no children together, but I have 2 grown stepsons and a grandbaby! My husband is a firefighter and I am a junior high teacher here in South Texas. I was thin all through childhood and high school, went from 120s to 140s in my early 20s....got married at 25 weighing around 145 lbs. I have steadily gained every single year since then. I dieted at least once a year and it would take MONTHS to lose 10,15, or 20 lbs and then gradually gain it back plus some. Become disgusted with the even higher weight and diet again. Viscious cycle. I was diagnosed with PCOS years ago and then last year diagnosed with Insulin Resistance. I was at 222 lbs last year and it took me 5 months to get down to 209...then 5 more to get to 229, lol! I realized that I needed help to get my health/weight in check or I would be facing major problems in the future. I am on the slower end of losing up until now, 25 lbs in 16 weeks, but I am very pleased to see it going steadily down!

Chris Daughtry (sp?) has an amazing talent! I havent been watching this year, but now I am hooked. He even blew Simon away with his performance.
