  1. I stick with Tylenol. I break up a tablet if I dont have liquid on hand, but I rarely take either......just around that time of the month.
  2. Too darn funny.....My drugs are similar. Benicar, Metformin, Lipitor. I crunch the Metformin in my mouth and swallow, salty yuck taste but it only lasts a second. I know it sound disgusting but it is the most convenient way I have found for me since I take them 2-3 times a day. I was cutting Benicar in half when I still took it. I dont need it anymore, went from borderline high bp to normal!! I have no clue on the Effexor. I edited to add that my dr. told me you should NEVER crush an extended release med. Ask your doctor on that one before you do it.

    Another Unfill

    If you are so tight that you are .1-.2ccs away from being totally shut, is it possible that you ate something that caused swelling? Even minor irritation could cause enough swelling to make it miserable.....just a thought.

    Time off after surgery

    I am also a teacher, I had surgery on Wednesday and went back to work the following week for Thursday and Friday. I was still swollen and more tired than usual, but I was fine. I think I actually felt better in having to put on some makeup and "real clothes" and get off the couch. I felt pretty much back to normal the next week. That first week post-op is the roughest because of the swelling, tenderness, gas........and the LIQUID PHASE!!! Getting to pureed soups on the full liquid phase completely got rid of the tired feeling for me, and by then the gas pains and bloating were mostly gone.

    March 30

    Thursday Havent been tracking food. It really seems like no matter how good or bad I eat I consistently lose about 6 lbs a month. I skipped breakfast and was starving at lunch. I was really bad at lunch....I had a Subway wrap and was only able to eat half. About 30 minutes later I was still freaking hungry and drank some water. Of course the water didnt help, so I ate the other half of the wrap. I need to keep some damn protein drinks in my mini fridge in my classroom. I had a light supper though. Some grilled zuchinni and about 4 bites of a pork chop.

    I was on my period and it made no difference. They are very used to this, it affects the surgery in no way.

Thanks to all for the congratulations over reaching Onederland.....since I made a thread over it I didnt expect the new congrats....I feel proud all over again, lmao!!!!!!     Current 198.5, total -30.5, this week -2 I hit ONEDERLAND this week!!!!! Might as well update tonite.....I doubt I will lose more by tomorrow! LOL!!!! I also noticed that Morsaille is currently listed as weighing 2,887 lbs! Will be a big change for her on tomorrows update!

    eating and drinking-tip

    Thanks for the tip! I have one also. I pop a sugar free peppermint Breathsaver in my mouth after eating lunch, and the extra saliva helps 'rinse out' your mouth. Of course you also get the benefit of fresh breath!! I have done the water or mouthwash swish-and-spit at home, but it is hard to do when having lunch with co-workers!

    Tuesday 198.5!!! Yesterday was my 5 month anniversary and I am down 30 lbs! I am thrilled!! I have refused to compare my loss to anyone elses, I am losing at the rate I lose at! I have consistently lost about 6 lbs a month. I have so many NSV's I cant begin to list them, but I need to...just to look back at. 30 lbs has made a HUGE difference on my body, especially from the waist up. 1. My waist is SIX inches smaller. 2. Ribcage under my bra is FIVE inches smaller....36 inches and one inch smaller than my waist!! Goodbye back fat. 3. My arm at the bicep is only 12.5 inches, ! 4. From size 20W pants to size 16 and 18.....16-18 misses, not W!!!! 5. My boobs stick out farther than tummy...no longer look 5mo pregnant. 6. There is not ONE coworker, friend, family that has not noticed and commented on the weight loss (and I am still in the closet with banding) 7. First time under 200 in about 4 years. 8. My face is getting thin enough I am starting to feel really pretty again. 9. I feel 'heavy/normal' and not huge, bloated, puffy 10. My ankles never ever get edema anymore. 11. I have zero nighttime reflux anymore. 12. My DH says it is like having sex with a different woman because he can FEEl such a difference in my body. 14. My back is completely smooth. No roll above waistband or around bra. 15. Blood sugar stays very stable (thanks to no bread, lmao) 16. OFF BP medicine....was only borderline and now normal. 17. Gone from (bust,waist,hip) 48.5,43,51 to 46.5(-2),37(-6),47(-4)......big fat gut is so much more in portortion now, hell! its gone!!!...maybe that is why everyone notices I have lost weight. My shape is still big but back to being very shapely now. I could keep going but these are the major ones....in no particular order.

    When Will This Pain Go Away?

    Leener, I read this thread everytime it is updated. I am so glad you are feeling a little bit better, and cant wait for you to feel a LOT better! It seems like you might have finally turned that corner and started on the upswing with the healing. You are so lucky to have your own angel in TheBestMe. I suppose I didnt post on this thread before simply because I didnt know what to tell you to do to make it better.... Now I am just glad it is a little better. Hang in there.

    Update...

    You look fabulous! It looks even better now, I cant imagine how good you are going to look if you lose to goal.....I think you look like you are at goal now! I am so damn excited over your surgery, I want to be there already myself! Incredible results, your surgeon is excellent. LOL, I am glad the pain is all but forgotten now!

    Zucchini!!!!!

    I posted this on another site but wanted to share with my LBT friends. I am so happy that I discovered how great zucchini is!!! I have always like it, just didnt have it often....usually at restaurants. It is the perfect veggie to go with a meal. I like to slice them lengthwise and season with some Seasoning salt and throw them on the grill if we are cooking out. They taste wonderful. If we cook inside I slice into medallions and sautee in a skillet with some Pam or a little butter. Even better with some onion and bell peppers. I actually found that they have canned zucchini done Italian style with tomatoes. I put some in a bowl and sprinkled with some Parmesan and had for lunch today. 1 cup sauteed or grilled zucchini 40 calories, 0g fat, 2.5g Protein 1/2 cup of the canned Italian style 33 calories, 0g fat, 1g protein

    I need some advice

    1cc is pretty common for a first fill. I think you should get your first fill and then decide if you feel any difference in restriction or need to get more aggressive. I was barely restricted at 1cc and then went to 1.5ccs (AFTER losing 20 lbs) and couldnt keep water down. Unfilled to 1.3 and was perfect. When you get closer to perfect restriction TINY amounts make a huge huge difference. If they had filled me to 1.5 on the first fill I would have been puking up everything and been completely shut. $50 is incredibley reasonable for fills. I dont recall ever hearing anyone pay that little. It is MUCH easier to go back and get more fill than to suffer and go back for an unfill.

    Oh, I thought about this too! My knocked out body all jiggly and relaxed and having to be heaved onto the stretcher. But then again, I guess they see it ALL on everyone! I had a pedicure and bikini wax as part of my pre-op preparations, lmao...and I am serious!

    Any of wish you had gotten RNY?

    I think the mortality rate with GB is what scared me off. IF I remember correctly it is like 1-3%. OMG, 1-3 out of every 100 GB patients DIE!!! Someone please correct me if that is wrong, but that scared the hell out me and made me decide that I would never consider GB. I think the lapband is the absolute best thing I have ever done for myself.
  21. To me it sounds like you are too tight. It is common for the weight loss to slow down or even stop when you arent able to get in adequate amounts of REAL food. Try the warm tea before meals, it really helps me. Also, many many bandsters are tighter in the mornings...so dont even attempt anything too solid then if you are having problems with sliming and PBing. I really think you should push to see your doctor or his asst sooner, but take it careful in the meantime. Tiny bites and chew to practically liquid. Hope you get this resolved.

    One of my small Incisions

    I had several stitches pop up and was instructed to put a little Neosporin on them and not worry about it. They looked like a pimple-type area on the incision with a stitch sticking out. I pulled on them (gently) with some tweezers every few days and when they dissolved enough they slipped right out. They heal right over. I am assuming you are talking about about a tiny spot where the stitches are sticking out and not an actual opening in your incision.
  23. I like the Unjury, it mixes very easily. I also like the SlimFast Optima for the convenience. Try the chocolate one and bump up the flavor with a little sugarfree chocolate syrup. I also buy the DaVinci sugarfree syrups in Vanilla, Hazelnut, and Amaretto and add a dash to the vanilla drinks. Makes a lot of difference in the taste. I still have a protein drink for breakfast several times a week, I am pretty restricted in the mornings.

    Wanna draw a PIG?

    We did this at teachers workshop and one of the coaches drew a pig that was about 4 inches and had a 4 inch curling tail. It was hilarious when the presenter explained what all the details meant!! Thanks for sharing the fun!
