Wwoo Hhooo!!! Congratulations!
-
I get the Zero Carb ISOPURE mix in Creamy Vanilla! I get the 3 lbs container and I think it was around $35, but it has 44 scoops....and each scoop is: 100 calories 25g Protein 0 carbs 0 sugar It gets the protein from whey Protein Isolate and mixes super easy. I like this stuff better than the unjury, and if you like the Protein drinks it gives a good bang for the buck. Less than a dollar per serving.

BigPaul always makes me feel really good about myself. He's funny and silly but really smart right when you need him to be. TellyMelly keeps me motivated on days I think I want to slack and theres always a smile on my face when I'm talking to her, she just keeps me laughing. She brightens my day! Cutiern reminds me of my daughter. I love how she is young, independent, and willing to make financial sacrifices to change her life. Dawg is a great husband. Selfless and supportive. He lives a banded lifestyle, without the band, so that he may succeed along side his wife. Pennie always seems so level-headed and diplomatic. I really admire that.

Congratulations!!! I too will be waiting for the pics!!!

OMG, What fun! You look great and boy your hubby is a cute one too!!!

Haven't eaten a chicken nugget since seeing it, lol! My husband and I watched it shortly after I was banded. It sure makes it easier to just drive on by fast food places and pick up a rotiserrie chicken or such from HEB! We never grabbed fast food that often anyway, we both prefer restaurants, but we do so almost NEVER now. There are quick things to grab for dinner that are way healthier.

Where were you at six months post-op?
lianna replied to Clementine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just had my 6 month anniverisary on May 27th! I was down 37 lbs. I feel much like you do, wish it was more but then again it averages out to about 1.5 lbs per week. I am happy as long as at comes off! I figure I may not get to goal as fast as some, but I will still make it to the finish line! Congrats on 6 months, hope you will find it easier to break those bad habits with better restriction! You WILL get there! -
I have a 2003 black Mustang convertible with the pony pack (leather seat, upgraded sound system, etc). I actually won a Harley sportster on a $50 raffle ticket and figured since I couldn't very well drive it to work that I might as well sell it and get something fun I COULD drive! Between selling the bike and my old car I was able to pay cash, so I havent had a car payment since 03 and still love my little Mustang! It's a keeper, lol!

I had Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey perform my surgery. He is wonderful and I would recommend him highly to anyone. However, if my insurance had covered it I would have chosen a local doctor in a heartbeat. I would have liked knowing that I would always have someone available that would see me in an emergency, and to have easy access for fills and followup. If you can prearrange and locate a doctor that will see you in the event of needing an emergency unfill or for routine checkups I say go GO MEXICO. I am fortunate that I live in South Texas and Dr. Sanchez set me up with another wonderful doctor an hour away that I have used post-op for followups and fills. I actually did end up too tight once, and I dont know what I would have done if I couldnt have easily made it back for an unfill.

Congrats! I cant wait for the pictures! -
I am in South Texas and gas in $2.79 a gallon right now. It is outrageous how much it costs to fill my car up!

With your scenario ALL surgeons and dieticians are wrong?

OOps......judgemental and realistic aren't synonyms.......The body REALLY has to heal. The band is literally stiched into your stomach. It has to heal before you make it churn to digest food. That is the reason your doctor might have you on liquids or mushies, it is less churning.
-
Breakfast.....protein drink Lunch......3 meatballs, pineapple and grapes supper.......meatloaf and cauliflower

The band is actually stitched onto your stomach. When you eat solid food your somach has to churn to digest it. You want the stitches to heal and anchor the band firmly.
-
Is this really fair? You have basically have a yes, yes, unsure yes, and ONE no? Seems biased to me.
-
Post Script.......It has been 2 months since last fill......All is FANTASTIC in that area.

Changes in the way you react to medication?
lianna replied to SRaeM's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes........I may be imagining this but after lunch (and taking my Metformin) I am tired, not refueled. I cant NOT take it, readings are still to high WITHOUT it. But I feel sluggish lately. However, Midol (cut up with pill cutter) works with ONE!!!!!!!!! Same with Tylenol! -
Wow Ralheit, your doc doesnt mess around! I had 1cc the first fill and definitely had restriction, 1.5 at next fill had me spitting up my own spit.....Had an unfill to 1.3. Just goes to show INDIVIDUAL we all are, but it is neat to see all out different fill levels. I am now at 2.1 six months later.

My metformin are big and I take then 3X daily, so I cut them. On capsules, I just soften in water for a second and them swallow with some warm tea or something. They should be fine, even if they got "stuck" they will be washed down with warm liquid.

Almost ALL places will now hold the bun! I have ordered a What-a-Chicken from Whataburger this way, a QuarterPounder from McDonalds, the breakfast #17 from Jack in the Box, etc... they just put it on a little tray. I dont touch the fries, give them away or ask for them to not give them to you at all... I would rather "waste the money" than stick them back on my A$$!!! The bread is what gets me stuck, and the fries are not worth it!!

I have the 9.75cm 4cc band. I am currently at 2.1ccs. I am truly at my sweet spot. It doesn't take much to fill me up and I stay full without snacking. I can eat just about anything but breads, instant PB. I do have other metabolic issues though. I have PCOS with major cysts, and insulin resistance that still requires 1500 mg of Metformin daily. I am happily losing 6 lbs a month though!! It is WONDERFUL!!!!!
