I also love the Centrum chewables. I take the Viactiv Calcium chews too and they are almost like a little piece of dessert! I got the Viactiv multi in Cherry Chocolate and I love them! Just do some experimenting and see which ones you like...there are so many more choices nowdays!

Reheated meats are the DEVIL I tell you!!!! I can not eat reheated steak or chicken. It is simply too dry or too tough or something. I have learned to cook only what we will eat and keep some Lean Cuisines and Smart Ones in the freezer to take to work for lunch. They cost around $2 and I look for the ones with broccoli or green beans instead of pasta, rice, or patotoes. I think it was probably the reheated turkey that caused the problems. And the other example you give definitely sounds like it came from ignoring a stop signal. If I even suspect I should not take another bite,,,,I have learned to follow that feeling, lol!

How much can you eat.....
lianna replied to cher3150's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I probably eat about a cup per meal. I can eat a whole bowl of Quaker weight smart oatmeal for breakfast, I can eat most or all of a Lean Cuisine for lunch, 4oz of chicken or steak with some brocolli or grean beans for supper. I think I err on the side of having looser restricion (and therefore a little slower weight loss) but I am happy that I have no issues like heartburn, PB's, or sliming so I find it is what works for me! I dont see how ANYONE can get adequate nutrition from 3 meals that are only 1/4 cup. I think even bypass patients can eat more than 2oz at a time! -
I have lost fairly slowly the entire time. I have averaged 1-2 lbs a week with a few plateaus that lasted weeks before loss started again. I am just over a year out, 57 weeks, and down 60 lbs. I have no complaints. Even losing slowly I am pleased to be where I am at now. I am getting very close to goal, so fast or slow loss, the end result will be the same!

I would only want half the replacement value. He can contribute half and relieve his guilt, and you can get a brand new camcorder for (basically) half price. That would be the solution that would feel comfortable for me.
-
Woo Hoo! You are still on that endorphin high! Glad you had so much fun!

I want one!!!! I figure I spent this much time, money, and effort to get back to a healthy weight that I want to look good too! I dont know about it actually being necessary, but I know that skin only shrinks back so much and that places that have stretch marks will shrink back the LEAST...since they have already stretched past normal elasticity. I dont think anyone can predict if you will need or want a tummy tuck at goal, but it is hard to gain and lose 100+ lbs without having some areas that dont bounce back.

I love my morning coffee or hot tea! I think I didnt drink coffee for a week or 2 post op, but was never told I needed to avoid it.
-
I do! It extends to far to the left and I have to scroll over. *edited* Never mind, I can actually see the important part of the new post easily!

I have been on a 4 month plateau. I havent changed my eating, it is still on track....but when school started my 3 mile walks stopped. I am relieved that I have maintained, but I KNOW what I need to do to get the losing going again! I feel with you, it is frustrating when that scale stops moving!

Hey Leener! I know restriction varies with everone, but that sounds pretty normal to me. It is not uncommon to be tighter in the morning, I find that I am also. I usually have fairly thin oatmeal or just a protein drink. As long as you can eat a healthy variety of foods at lunch and dinner I think you are okay. There isnt much besides bread that causes me problems by lunch or dinner, but my first cup of morning coffee or tea really just gurgles through slowly. You are able to do lunch and dinner without problems?

I only take Metformin daily and the occasional Tylenol, but I use a pill cutter to cut them into fourths. It goes down easily and seems like it would be less foul tasting than crushing it. I agree with whomever said that you are more than likely still swollen... and the warm water trick always work for me also! Hope you get over the nausea.

I totally was rooting for Chris Daughtry! American Idol doesnt need the country sound........they have Nashville Star for that, lol.

You have done great!!! I am happy and proud for you! -
Love those NSV's!!! Dont they make it all worthwhile? Congratulations!
-
Not for me. The texture is very very different, slightly rubbery. If I am very careful and chew very well I can eat them.
-
I chew until there is practically nothing left, until it is almost liquid. It really depends on how small of a bite it is, and what the particular food is, as to how many "chews" it takes. If there is ANYTHING that wont chew down well (tough meat, broccoli fibers, etc) I discreetly spit it into a napkin. The chewing and small bites have been easy to adapt to.....it is the not drinking with or after meals that is still killer for me.

I also love the DaVinci sugarfree syrups!!! My favorite right now is the Hazelnut added to a vanilla protein drink. Sometimes I add a little instant coffee and make my own frappacino. I am actually wanting to try the sugarfree pudding added to a protein drink, sounds good and I have never tried it!

Kim, Welcome to LBT! This site has been a huge source of info and support for me. Glad you found it! -
I am definitely in the yellow zone! Is there a paler yellow, lol, if so I am there?

I am with yall! I have floated between 165-170 for about 2 months now. I knnnnnnnnow I need a fill. I suppose that deep down inside I am so happy to be in a size 12/14 and feeling so great, and happy to be maintaining and NOT gaining that I have slacked off! I think it is time for us to step up the excersize, crack down on the food and portions, and fill to better restriction if necessary. I willl make goal!!! So will you!!!

an offshoot of "Are you attracted to overweight people" thread..
lianna replied to DerickM's topic in The Lounge
I was never overweight until my mid 20s. Got married at 25 and moved to South Texas. I dont know if it was the food (beans and rice, chips and salsa, PLUS the good ol meat an taters) or what, but I steadily gained. I attribute it to poor food choices, large portions, and a hot humid lazy "manana" attitude. Once I started teaching here I LITERALLY gained 50 lbs in 5 years. Who knows how or why we get fat? To make a blanket statement on the cause is ill concieved and steriotypical. edited to add that regarding the last sentence: i get weary of people assuming that ALL overweight people have eating disorders and addiction. -
To fill or not to fill....

Lost slowly and steadily after the 3rd fill. -
Has the lapband changed your life in the way you thought it would?
lianna replied to apinksoprano's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My life is so much BETTER minus 60 lbs. I haave more energy, my BP is normal, no more edema! I would do this again in a heartbeat. It is beyond words to look and feel "normal" again. -
I eat mostly the same type of thing daily. I have a protein drink or Quakers sugar-free or weight control oatmeal for breakfast....or fat-free cottage cheese and fruit with splenda. I have a salad with grilled chicken or tuna on it for lunch most days. For busy days I keep the freezer stocked with Lean Cuisine or a Smart Ones for lunch.....the ones with veggies as a side (broccoli or asparagus) not starches. I have whatever the family is having for dinner, I just eat the meat and veggie. I am fortunate that I can eat ANY meat. Nice steaks, grilled tuna steak, chicken, even ground beef patties (I keep my fill less restricted though, which has meant slower loss BUT a very normal lifestyle.) I love cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini, asparagus, okra, spinach, etc...and eat veggies one of the above with lunch and dinner. For snacks I like cheese cubes, almonds, fat-free cottage cheese, boiled eggs, cucumber slices with ranch, etc......
