No I should right? I kind of power thru it. I'm use to drinking it prior to surgery but after surgery, oh lawwd it's like fighting me every ounce. I read some people put crystal light in it? Does anyone know if we can drink our water with crystal light? I mean that would help me out tremendously!!

Happy to hear you're doing well! I agree, the walking helps. I love to walk so being out of the hospital is better for me. I'm walking around my neighborhood and it feels good to be out and about. I went today to buy other flavors of isopure and Lil bottles of water. I was using the big 1.5 liters of water but it was too much to look at and see how much I have to drink. I like looking at the Lil bottles and I only have to drink 3 or 4 at the most.

I'm well thanks. 3rd day at home and I'm still trying to adjust. I'm able to walk with no problems. But I think I'm getting tired of the same taste in liquids. My first day back home I tried the premiere chocolate, omg, bad idea! It tasted chalky and that was long and awful day for me. I don't mind the isopure but it too is becoming a bit too much. Im going to try and mix things up today because I'm feeling better. I have some soreness from the incision area but it manageable. Honestly I just want to feel normal again. I don't like this phase right now. I know I need to get water to not get dehydrated then I need my protein to fuel this body but right now it's all somewhat a struggle. 48oz of water and 80grams of protein is my daily goal at home.

May Sleevers in Mexico?
longway2go replied to BigDaddy13's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My Dr told me I could take my vit b-12, vit D and multi vit post op. But can't take any of my supplements till later. -
I did cj too! What's your career plan after you get your degree?

I agree! Just getting out of surgery was horrible. I was bloated and so drugged up lol I hate not knowing what's going on with me. I got myself up and staggering down the post op room lol Today is my first day in hospital and what a better feeling. I'm a bit whoozy still but I have more a hold on my mind and body that I feel much better.

I'm doing well thanks! I'm in hospital drinking my isopure and water. I just finished on bottle and I have one more to go. My walking is getting better. I was able to walk for 15mins this morning and it felt great!

Did you have WLS? The audacity of some.
longway2go replied to Deactivatedfatgal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I like the "resting b****" answer to any questions about wls. I haven't told anyone outside my girlfriend not even family. Thankfully I have been already losing weight for years on my own and I'm thinking everyone will just think I've been doing this for awhile so they won't ask. My girl and I were talking this morning on the drive to get my surgery, today, 5/3/17, and she said prepare yourself because people will ask after the surgery. I don't have a resting b face but I have perfected the don't F look at me face, thanks to my line of work [emoji4] -
Checked in the hospital this morning at 5:30am surgery is set at 9am! I only had one day for liquids but I did 3 days just to prepare myself. Not too bad. What really sucked was the darn commercial about food lol! I continued to workout during liquid diet and that was weird. Felt a bit week in the legs but nonetheless I did it. Today during my weigh in I was down 10 more pounds. I have exceeded my Dr recommendation prior to surgery. The next adventure will be post op and I can't wait. In a couple hours a new chapter will begin for me. Again, best of luck to all on this journey and remember all our hard work will pay off!!

mild sleep apnea - I'm pissed
longway2go replied to transmformme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had an issue with this at the start of my journey. I know I snore and I thought I was ok. I took the sleep test over night. It wasn't the best. I had a hard time sleeping and I'm a night owl. I only slept for a couple of hours and the guy came in the room stuck some plugs in my nose and then that was it. Afterwards they ordered a cpap machine for me and my insurance paid for it. They told me to use it at least for 4 hours a night for 21 days or else I would to have out of pocket. I used it sparingly and under the 21 days and then they sent me a bill lol. But I didn't use because the plugs in my nostrils were annoying and then they sent me a mask. It's been over six months of me using the cpap and I have to say after giving it a try, I sleep better and wake up refreshed. I questioned if I really needed it and I was gonna avoid telling my surgeon. But I gave it a try and hopefully after my sleeve and continued hard work, I will not need the cpap machine any more. -
Tic toc here we go to everyone in May!! Good luck and speedy recovery.

I met with my surgeon on 4/18/17. All is well and still going forward on 5/3/17 to be sleeved!! I was anticipating the pre-surgery diet, although I've already made changes in my nutrition before deciding to have wsl. When I asked her any special diets needed before my surgery date, she looked at me confused and said, "what do you mean?" I told her no liquid diet for the next 2 weeks? She told me that I was good and that only the night before go in a liquid diet. That was probably the most positive news she's given me lol. Today I did my blood work, chest X-ray and ekg. Exciting times!!!

My surgery date is May 3 too! I'm excited but also been on this journey for awhile. I'm not too much of worrier but I am excited about this new venture.

Prep for Sleeve Beginning
longway2go replied to SenetriaStartingOver's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@ All-IN 4 Life I was thinking that. I wanted to ease myself into all liquids before the Dr told me just so that I could be prepared and not get all angry and bitter at life lol Thanks for the heads up. I see my Dr next month and I'll definitely start the liquid phase before I see her. -
Prep for Sleeve Beginning

The endoscopy was like the 3rd month. I don't believe any of my procedures (endoscopy, psych and nutrition classes) were in any particular order. My appts were based on availability and my work schedule. The labs were easy because I would just show up to the Lab and give my blood then it was done. -
Hello! I'm a newbie to here too. I'm meeting with my Dr in March to hopefully schedule a date. I'm from California. JM

How do you handle people asking questions
longway2go replied to XmeghannstarX's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I haven't told any family or friends. I've been on this journey for quite some time on my own so I've already been bombarded with, "you look smaller what are you doing, etc." I've already lost a significant amount of weight on my own. I've been able to dodge all the other inquiries and probing quests with the truth. Working out like crazy, high Protein and watching what I put in my mouth. I'm hoping after my sleeve I won't have to say much. I hope there's an even more significant loss in my weight that people notice even more. But I don't know if I'll actually be forthcoming about my surgery? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
