Sonic and straws
tinawithasleeve replied to crazywomanincage's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a former Lapband who was sleeved on 2-6. I never use straws. I don't drink sodas, I don't drink with meals. Why? Although I have been in the medical field for over 20 years, I am not a Bariatric Surgeon. My surgeon and his well-trained staff know how to navigate me through this to allow me to have a successful outcome. I am not going into this thinking that I know better/ differently than them. I am not usually that RARE person who is the exception to the rules. I have seen so many people disappointed with their results or surprised they are struggling because they all thought they knew better than their surgeon/support staff. I am in NO WAY bashing anyone for their journey. I, personally am following my surgeon's plans to a "T". -

Omeprazole - need help taking

My husband pours the beads over 2 tablespoons of SF jello. I just do my best to get them all down. I was told they are time released so they won't dissolve in any liquids. -
Lost 20 lbs 1 week post op!

Did you do a pre-op liquid diet? -
I am 6 days post op and UP 4 pounds!!! WTH?!?! I have been told it's fluid retention from the lactated ringers in my IV for almost 3 days straight. Still, it's hard not to think that I ruined my brand new tummy. I having issues getting fluids in. 2 tablespoons at a time is all I can handle. And afterwards I am full for a long time. I was getting in diet cranberry juice, ckn/bf broths in at 2 tablespoons at a time. One sugar free Popsicle made me feel so full I couldn't put anything else in for almost 3 hours.

Feb 2017 sleevers - how's everyone doing post-op?
tinawithasleeve replied to biginjapan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved on 2-6. Released from hospital late evening on 2-8. Weighed myself for the first time this morning and am UP 4 pounds!!!! Had a lot of nausea and pain so wasn't able to even melted ice chip down without vomiting. This morning I am happy to say I've had 8 ounces of orange flavored Protein drink -sipped on it for almost an hour. I have been able to keep down 2 tablespoons of broth at a time. One sugar free Popsicle at a time. 2 tablespoons of diet cranberry juice. But nothing significant. Yesterday was first day of regular liquid diet ( not clear fluids), I was only able to get in 2 ounces of a Protein shake all day. It settled hard on my pouch. Looking forward to walking with my family this afternoon. We are also going to go see the movie: A Dog's purpose. Should be fun. -
Can't keep anything down

First of all-congratulations!! Welcome to the bench! I, too was recently sleeved on 2-6. Are you still nauseated from your surgery? Are you still in pain? I was both of these the first few days post op. My surgeon decided to keep me in the hospital longer to get my nausea and pain under control. I would definitely call the office, and let them know your having issues and see what they say. It is never a bother for them to know how you're doing, especially if you have areas you're struggling with. -

They never said I couldn't. But you're not allowed to after you have the surgery. I put too much air in your stomach. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
4 weeks liquid diet
tinawithasleeve replied to lularoejennibowles's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sadly, I would be doing better had I not cheated many times. I felt deprived and I really felt like I needed to chew something. Now that I am four days away from having surgery cheating is no longer an option. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I have been on a pre-op diet for the last four weeks. It consisted of replacing one meal each week with a Protein shake. Week one one meal a day with a Protein Shake week to two meals a day were a protein shake in the last two weeks are just pure Protein shakes. I'm also allowed to have sugar free drinks, Sugarfree Popsicles, and broth. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App My surgery date is February 6 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
