Feeling sick every time I eat or drink
healthyliving23 replied to Lovelyladybee's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had mine the same time as you and the last couple days whatever hits my stomach hurts. Feels like it's sitting in their like a brick. I as well have had no issues at all. It's been 2 days like this. Not sure either what it is. -

Sugar free candy
healthyliving23 replied to healthyliving23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks, that helps! -
I'm not looking for a lecture, but I'm wondering about sugar free candy. Not necessarily chocolate, even like fruit chews or something. It's just something I started wanting the last couple days. I'm 5 weeks out from RNY. I'm not talking a lot of it, just a couple pieces of something. Any thoughts?

Losing only 13lbs in 5 weeks

I'm in the same boat as some of you. I had bypass on 1/24 at 225 and I'm only down 16 pounds. It is frustrating because of course this is new to us and we think because we haven't eaten like we used to in a month. I'm also encouraged by reading some of the responses to hear I'm not crazy[emoji4] -
Not sure i'm losing enough
healthyliving23 replied to cls5186's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I, too had RNY on 1/24 am only down maybe 16 lbs. it's easy to compare yourself to others, but try not to. Easier said than done. We all start wondering "what am I doing wrong?" Many factors to consider like others said...starting weight, etc. If I had lost 30 lbs, then I'd be worried of the other extreme [emoji4] I think we're just fine! Take care~ -
Very little weight loss!

Try Core Power protein Shakes. They are already and can be pricey but they taste the best! It's all I can drink. Hope you find some[emoji4] -

I had mine on 1/24 and I agree with others. My favorite is the baked ricotta and I just mashed it with my fork and chewed it really well. It's the best! Good luck.

I'm almost a month out and I wore my binder for a little over 2 weeks. It helps so much. I also, wore a tank top under mine for the itching. Much more comfortable[emoji4]

It's called Fleet. If you can't find that, find the little pink box (forget the name) but it says it's for women. -
When can you eat lettuce or a salad?

Hi, I am about 22 days post op form gastric bypass. My gas pains were so bad I was crying at one point. My dr said it was fine to use miralax to no avail. So, I moved to taking two stool softeners and it took me 10 days! I continue today with them because if I don't, I do not go. Good luck, because that is the worst pain and so frustrating. You feel so bloated, don't lose any weight and just plain uncomfortable. I pray you get some relief soon. It WILL get better. Find a stool softener, not a laxative. That will cause cramping and you don't want that! Hope this helps. [emoji4][emoji1374] -
When can you eat lettuce or a salad?
healthyliving23 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm beginning the soft stage tomorrow. I know lettuce probably isn't considered a soft food, but can anyone tell me when you can begin with lettuce/salads? Thanks for any help! -
So when did you start working out?
healthyliving23 replied to Lovelyladybee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told not to do any exercise until 6 weeks post op to try and prevent things like hernias etc. Surgeon said it takes that amount of time to heal and like others said, energy levels will be very low for 2-3 months. Take it easy. A friend of mine exercised too early, and ended up injuring herself making the process that much more frustrating. Good luck! -
I don't like protein shakes, but I LOVE Core Power
healthyliving23 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As I read many of these posts, I hear over and over people struggling with getting protein in or trying to choke down a protein shake. I hope this is the solution for at least someone out there. Core Protein are pre-made protein shakes and they come in light (20g of protein) and Elite(42 g of protein)! They come in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. I love the chocolate. It they really do taste like a mixture between chocolate milk and a milkshake. My little girls also drink them as a snack after school. They can be expensive, but my thought is if this is mainly what you need, your saving in your grocery bill Hope this helps!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
