What order should the plastics be done?

I want to have my tummy done first and then my arms and breasts. I'm afraid that if I did my arms and breasts first, that the tummy tuck would pull my breasts down. Don't know if this is a valid concern but I worry about it nonetheless.
  2. I'm curious about this too. Hopefully someone will respond.

Need breakfast ideas - what are you eating for bf?

The same thing every weekday morning: one scrambled egg with turkey sausage crumbles and feta cheese sprinkled on top. Delish!

    Keto

I am 18 months post op and am about 20 lbs away from my goal. I like where I'm at but would love to lose the last 20 lbs. I am seriously considering doing keto but am curious what that looks like over the course of a day. Current keto eaters: Can you list what your meals and snacks are in a typical day? Also do any of you do intermittent fasting along with it?

Diet Soda at 9 months post op?

I have diet root beer occasionally and it makes me burp. I mean REALLY burp. I was a Coke Zero freak before surgery and it tastes like pure syrup to me now. Barq's diet root beer gives me the fizz that I crave but that doesn't happen very often. A six pack would probably last me a year. Haha!
  6. I couldn't eat fish for a couple months after surgery. It didn't taste good. Thankfully, that passed. I still don't want Coke Zero which I loved before. I miss the fizz and all I taste now is syrup. Blech!
  7. I live in the US and have scheduled VSG in Mexico with Dr. Illan. Is there any kind of insurance policy I can purchase that would cover my medical expenses in the US should I have complications once I get home?

    1st Puréed Day!

I lived off scrambled eggs with cottage cheese, refried beans with sour cream and cheese, and greek yogurt.
  9. You will have all of those things again (maybe not the rice) but not for a while and only in small portions. I have had small portions of dessert on special occasions. I'm really craving salad so I bought the stuff to make it and will have a small serving of it. The kind of salad I like really has no nutritional value (butter lettuce, beets, mushrooms, cheese, and ranch) so it isn't something I will have regularly but a couple times a month is fine. It's all about balance. And really, I feel so good with the weight I have lost that I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything (most of the time). We still have to deal with our food issues but it seems easier to me.

    What are your go-to foods?

Any kind you want. Beef, chicken, turkey. My hubby loves Five Guys so when we go there, I get a little bacon cheeseburger with jalapenos. I order it with no bun in a bowl. I can eat about half of it. Delicious! He is a team player and never orders fries.

    What are your go-to foods?

I have a hard boiled egg every day for breakfast. Love filet mignon and have that at least once a week. Burger without the bun. String bean chicken breast at Panda Express. Pecans. Iced tea with Stevia. Werthers sugar free candy. Pepperoni with cheese.
  12. The only thing I plan to never have is soda. I have had a small bite of rice but know that I will never have a serving of it again. I love spicy food and it hasn't been a problem. I really haven't found a food that causes problems. My new stomach is doing it's job of limiting my intake of food so I am doing my job of choosing the right foods. I splurge occasionally. When we have pizza, I always have one small bite with the crust and then eat the top off the rest of the piece. One piece. At dinner, I always eat my protein but I also have 2-3 bites of a starch. Moderation is key and control over my eating is a wonderful feeling.
  13. I have only vomited once and that was after eating too quickly. I am almost four months post-op and haven't found anything that disagrees with my stomach.
  14. I quit tracking about a month after my surgery. Since my food choices were so limited, it didn't make sense to track the same things every day, especially when I was eating less than 700 calories a day. I have been fluctuating between 282 and 284 for the last two weeks. This is my first stall and it's playing with my head. I know I need to start tracking my food to make sure that isn't the source of my stall. Do any of you track without using an app? I hate adding new foods or trying to find foods on the apps. It seems like it would be easier just to write it down in a notebook when you have the label right in front of you. Maybe I just need to quit being a whiny baby and realize that this is part of the process. Help me get back on "track" and tell me how you track your foods.

    Pant sizes?

Started at a 20W and after three months, I'm in a 14 misses. In tops, I went from a 2X to a L/XL. I hope to go down at least two more sizes by September but one size is probably more realistic.

Hate tracking food - now stalled

blizair09 - You are inspiring! Your meal list is very helpful. Just curious if your family members had the sleeve or bypass? I really need to do meal prep on Sundays and then my week would be so much easier.

Hate tracking food - now stalled

Wow! You have it down to a science. Do you ever deviate from that with a treat? Do you know how many calories a day that is? I need to find ParmCrisps!

HELP ANYONE AND EVERYONE NEED ADVISE

Do you take vitamins every day? That will help with your energy. Also, if you lose your breath after walking a couple minutes, you should have a check up with your doctor just to make sure you are OK to start a walking routine. Cut out all breads and sugars. Stick with meats, eggs, and veggies (or protein shakes) for your meals. Have nuts and greek yogurt for snacks. No more sweets. No more grazing. There's nothing wrong with drinking decaf iced tea for your fluids. I know it's hard. We have all struggled with food. Get your eating under control and I think you will start to see some changes.

Hate tracking food - now stalled

Thank you for all of your responses and support. Intellectually, I know that stalls are going to happen. I have even said the same thing to others who were concerned about stalls. But it's different when it happens to you. Haha! I am thankful that this is my first stall. blizair09 - I know that you are very regimented. I ate the same things over and over at the beginning but know that isn't sustainable for me. I am really curious what your meal plan looks like for a typical day. Your results are amazing and you are always helpful on here.

    Who was your Mexico Surgeon?

I also used Dr. Jalil Illan and had a great experience. I am 3 1/2 months post op and have lost 50 lbs. The hospital rooms were modern and the nurses were friendly and attentive. The valets with BariatricPal are wonderful. I am going back next month as my sister's companion. Believe me when I say that I wouldn't let her do this unless I had 100% confidence in Dr. Illan. She is my baby sister, best friend and a mother to two small children.

    Drinks after sleeve

I drink decaf iced tea and Crystal Light. My plan is to never drink carbonated drinks again but I do use a straw now.

    Surgery 6/22 Dr. A Ortiz

Nothing wrong with being nervous. I was nervous and so excited. Best of luck to you! My sister is having surgery the same day.

    Why is this so hard?!?

An intense craving isn't hunger. There is a reason we are all here...intense cravings! Haha! The first couple weeks are hard because our stomach is trying to heal, we can't figure out how to use and we are dealing with head hunger aka cravings. I took Prilosec or Zantac the first month and also Gas-X strips here and there. Acid can disguise itself as many things. It is miserable right now but believe me when I say that it is all worth it. I am 50 lbs down and feel amazing. You will be able to have real food soon. Take care of yourself!

    NO Carbonated beverages- FOREVER!

I was a Coke Zero girl. Drank 30-60 oz a day. Even more if we were camping. I quit drinking it 2 weeks before my surgery but had a sip of it about 2 months post-op. It didn't even taste the same. I'm 3 1/2 months post-op and 4 months now without Coke Zero. I miss the burn of the fizz but that's about it. I'm a never say never kind of person but I don't think I will ever drink soda again. My drink of choice is iced tea. I like it sweetened with Splenda or Stevia. Wish I could eliminate sweeteners completely but I like my tea sweet.

    Alcohol?

I drink whiskey a couple times a month but usually do not lose any weight the weeks that I drink. My body seems to handle it fine but it hits me quickly and doesn't take much to keep the buzz going.
