  1. My doctor has ran a ton of tests, even ordered a MRI for my knees. i have torn meniscus in both with osteoarthritis in them, a double whammy. our OHIP does cover knee replacements but try and get into an orthopedic surgureons office! I get enough protein plus any excess is turned into carbohydrates in the body. The warmth of the summer does help, I do get out and the weight is crawling off 1 pound at a time lol. I am now 6 months out I just saw my nutritionist and she says I'm on track. I have lost 65lbs so far. I guess I'm going to be like the tortoise-slow and steady wins the race 😁
  2. I'm 56 and post menapausal, loosing the weight even with a gastric bypass is very hard, I fight and struggle for every single pound lost. 3months and 30lbs down, the first 20 was within the first month, then 5 lbs per month. but it's better then no weight lose guess slow and steady will be the norm for me
  3. So far steady, I lost 4 more lbs this month, my family doctor says it's fine as I'm loosing, before I wasn't, plus I'm post menapausal which makes it a bit harder to loose compared to those in their 20s or 30s. slow and steady will win this race, at least my skin will have a chance to shrink with the weight lose ?

    Constant colds

The recommended vitamins, 2 multi vitamins, 3 calcium with D, and the extra C, I saw my family doctor yesterday, he thinks it might be due to the operation and my temporary lowered immune system. He said it'll get better with time

    Constant colds

I had my RNY December 12/16, but since January I have had 2 colds that knocked the wind out of me 3 weeks apart. The last time I had colds like these was 2-3 yrs ago. Anyone else seem to have a lowered immune system because of this operation? Or is it just me ? I take extra vitamin C as is.
  6. 56 here, 2 months post op, lost 18lbs before surgery, and only down 26lbs, it's frustrating and I'm hoping it'll get better soon.
  7. It's been 8 weeks now and the last 2-3 weeks it's slowed to a very slow crawl of 1/2-1 lbs max per week if that. On the plus side it's better then nothing ? Age: 57 HW 285 pre op 268 (Optifast start) gastric bypass (12/12/16) 260 CW (8 weeks post op) 234 GW (2 year plan) 150 as you can see I only lost 8 lbs on 3 weeks of optifast, then lost 14lbs the first 3 weeks and now crawling the rest of the way at only 12lbs in 5 weeks.
  8. Wooohoooo almost 2 weeks later my scale dropped 3 lbs that stall was horrible!, guess I'm going to hit a stall again lol. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  9. Sounds like a plan, I will need to do it today. I also got an answer to why the scale isn't moving from my nutritionist, she said if you lose weight before surgery ( most of us did as we lived on Optifast for a few weeks) plus the stress of the surgery, your body goes into a reset mode where you won't loose as its trying to balance itself out. So YES, there is hope Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  10. Oh I hope so, I know everyone is different but to hear others are losing 5-10 per week ( congrats people )it's rather discouraging to us who's scales are out to get us Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
