    Before and now pics

You look fabulous! Great job getting the weight off!
  3. I'm dreaming of a thin me for Christmas too! I just got sleeved on 25 March. I haven't told anyone except my husband and best friend. No one else needs to know. But I'm a private person. It's really up to you and what you are comfortable sharing.

    Reflection

That's a good attitude to have. Gratitude for abundance. Good luck on your journey! I had mine on 25 March and am now pain free and weight tumbling down already. Don't know why I waited so long. So glad I've done this. After the first day of pain & discomfort, you'll be too! Sending you lots of positive healing thoughts.

I'm not telling anyone either. Only my husband and best friend know. I haven't even told my mother.

    Post op

I was discharged over the weekend so my husband could pick me up and drive me home and make me comfortable. I think I could have managed on my own but it was nice to have someone fuss over me after the soreness of the surgery. Laparoscopic surgery is less invasive but doesn't mean no pain. I was in pain meds for a day and a half at home and that made me very sleepy. Once I was off them, I was alert and able to help myself. Bending down was uncomfortable for a week and heavy lifting is not recommended for two weeks. Good luck with your journey!
  8. Wow! I'm nowhere near your protein or calorie intake but everyone is different. I'm at 24g protein through protein shakes and protein water. I'm getting about 300 calories a day. I am getting about 50oz of water a day. Good for you for being able to get your nutrition up so soon. I'm working on listening to my body signals and drinking on a regular schedule as well taking my supplements religiously. Good luck with your journey! You're off to a flying start!

    Dizzy

Add more water to your diet. This is almost always caused by dehydration. Also check your vitamin intake with your NUT and see that you are supplementing adequately. The constant sip sip sip will help you with your dizziness. Good luck! Wishing you dizzy free days ahead!
  10. Thank you for sharing your photos of your journey! It so amazing that so much change can happen in 6 short months! I just got sleeved and am just working out that I may we'll be at my goal weight for Christmas this year! It seems so unbelievable especially after years of struggling to loose even a few pounds. I'm still on liquids and looking forward to moving on to yoghurt and eggs in a week.
  11. Your partner should be exactly that, a "partner" - someone willing to share the load and be part of the journey. If they are not then you are better off without them. And you have come to that decision yourself. You now have the focus and energy to deal with your own healing, learning and parenting without anyone leeching positive energy from your world. Well done! Keep focused. The right partner will come your way when you are ready for him. Wishing you all the very best for your journey!

    It time

I'm 3 days post-op and happy to be pain free. Only on liquids but moving quite comfortably. No appetite but keeping a drink with me all the time to ensure I drink enough. No problem watching others eat so far. Quite amazed at myself really. I used to pick at every meal even if I wasn't hungry.

    New Lease On Life!

Congratulations! Very happy that you have found freedom in the sleeve!
  14. My first night post op I slept in a sitting position on the bed. I found it helped with the pain and the gas. It gets easier by the day.
  15. I need to use what we call "hospitalization leave" for the surgery and recovery period. I work for a large company and this will be no problem but my colleagues will know that I took hospitalization leave and will inevitably ask what for. I don't want to tell anyone about my sleeve surgery. Any ideas on what else I could say I went in for? My husband and BFF are the only ones who know.

    I'm Sleeved

I'm on the Atkins shakes and they have been tolerable post surgery. I got the Nature's Plus chewable multi and the Cal/Mag/Zinc off iHerb and have been able to chew those easily from day 2 post op. I'm on day 3 now and no longer need pain meds. Just trying to sip enough fluids and protein.
  17. Be kind to yourself. Mistakes happen. You've paid for that mistake and you are unlikely to repeat it any time soon. You will have many opportunities to make good choices again. All is not lost.

    Finally got my surgery date

How did the surgery go and how are you doing now?
  20. When is your surgery? I'm 46 with a nearly 7 year old and I completely understand where you are coming from. I had a moment of panic and then I quickly decided to replace it with excitement about the new me. I'm totally focusing on the new body I'm going to have and reading only positive stories. Keeps me in a positive headspace. I also downloaded the headspace app and started meditating. There is also a 7 min exercise app using no special equipment that I downloaded and started. Small steps. They all add to the journey.

    Vomiting after surgery

You could ask for a change of pain meds and switch to pump on demand instead of drip. Perhaps it'll help?

    First weigh in

So happy for you! I'll also be having 2 weeks off work and am planning to use the time to clear out any remaining "junk" from the kitchen and outing together folders of recipes and meal plans so that I set myself up for success. My surgery is this Saturday!

    2 hrs until surgery

Hope it went well and that you are recovering comfortably!
  25. Thanks for sharing your progress! Those results are wonderful! Inspiring to those of us at the start of journeys. I'm going in for surgery this Saturday and am feeling hopeful for similar good results. What advice would you give new sleevers like me?
