Eating at disney while banded
LundyLane replied to devonaravenhold's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
When you say you can't eat it, are you full and satisfied? Or still hungry and want more but you can eat it??? -
After you got the band did you feel hungry? Are you able to get satisfied? Is there ever a time when you are STRAVED and unable to eat to get satisfied? I would like to hear everyone’s feelings on what they went thru as far as being hungry and satisfied. Any frustrations? Any regrets that you did it?

I take Remicade & Methotrexate for RA looking to get banded early May. Anyone take the drugs?? Did you have to skip any doses before surgery? If so how did your RA hold up with out the drugs? I have an appointment to talk to my RA doctor about what to do before I get banded. Did you heal ok after you had it done? Also if you have been banded and lost weight with RA have you seen improvment with the RA? Excited to get Banded! :cheers2:

I went and spoke with my Doctor last Friday - he advised me to go off the methotrexate one week before and one week after surgery and to have it done when I am due for my Remicade (so it at the point when it's out of my system) and wait a week to get the Remicade - I think I will wait 2 weeks if I can. I'm worried about being in pain with out all my meds. Good luck to both of us  I'm hoping losing weight will help with the pain as well as everything else!

A little discouraged...
LundyLane replied to travelinsnorkel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I just did it all: 1. Seminar 2. Appointment with the Lapband Doctor 3. Appointment with a Dietitian 4. Appointment with the Psychologist 5. Appointment with my Family Doctor to get a form filled out that the Lapband doctor requested. Had to do all of this before they would submit it to my insurance then I was told that insurance has up to 30 days to responsed 6. Dr. Teel said I will see him one more time after I get the approval before surgery 7. Then from what the Dietitian said I will have to go to another food class after approved. 8. Pretesting at the hospital a week before surgery Good Luck! Submited to insurance last Wednesday.................... -
Dayton Ohio--Dr Teel/McGuire Self Pay?
LundyLane replied to FatButNotHappy's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I am going to Dr. Teel as well and have all my papers in and waiting on my approval letter from insurance (keeping my fingers crossed). Dr. Teel has been really nice and I did not feel rushed when asking questions, his staff did not seemed bothered by be calling to see if they got all my papers - they let me know they submitted everything on the same day they got they recieved the last paperwork they need from the Psch doctor. -

I'm going to Dr. Teel all papers in and waiting on approval letter! So far so good - Dr. Teel is really nice and will take the time to answer questions. -
Do you get a catheter during surgery?
LundyLane posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had surgery before that doesn't scare me - BUT - I hate catheters  and know that sometimes with short surgeries you don't get them. Do you have to have one with lap band surgery????? -
If You Had To Gain Weight to Get Lap-Band Covered By Insurance...?
LundyLane replied to photo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was 1lb off to have a BMI of 35 - so I put a soft 1lb weight in my pocket! Doctor says I should be good to go! Just finishing all the other appointments -
Hi Everyone! I am excited about seeing Dr. Teel next week in hopes to get the lap band. I am right at 35 BMI and take High Blood Presure meds also with High cholesterol and Rheumatoid arthritis. I have United Health Care insurance and they said it on case to case basis if they will pay for it. Just wondering if anyone has been right at 35 BMI with health issues that has got their insurance to pay for it????? Thanks! Marlanea
