Sleeved in December and I feel amazing
butterfly715 replied to elisa_rose's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations !! Your start weight and goal weight is very similar to mines. May I ask how tall are you ? How was it your first 2 weeks out? Did you have your surgery here in the states ? Is there one thing you would have done differently ? If your bmi was on the lower side, what did you do to win the support of those around you or did you keep it a secret (like me) ? Simply Me -

Employer BCBS doesn't cover bariatric surgery
butterfly715 replied to queenkudela's topic in Insurance & Financing
I will see if you can apply for a second insurance to cover Co pays and coinsurance. I believe the Affordable Care Act covers bariatric surgery. You will have to submit to your primary insurance first, once its rejected it will fall onto your secondary. I'm not sure if it will work for sure but I will suggest looking into it. Simply Me -

I am so sorry to hear about this my mom had colon cancer and she is still here. I know it's devastating and will take a blow at you. But please do not give up on you sis. You are doing this because you decided to live. I'm not being insensitive I'm encouraging you to press and enjoy this time with her. Look at uplifting messages, testimonies and stories that shares how they over came that stage of cancer. Re focus on life and not death sentence!!! You're reaction is real and it's not wrong however you have awareness and go in and eat how much you like just try to eat whole foods. You've come to far to give up I'm sure your mommy will not want this. She wants her baby girl to be all that she can be, she does not want to be the cause of your demise. Her diet will change and that's a good thing , you can show her what you've learned thus far. I'm praying for you and your family ! Stay encouraged , don't give up! My prayers of total healing with no side effects. I'm at the very beginning stages. I have my appointment on 2/21... I'm excited and nervous. I just love to hear testimonies of being on the other side of the surgery!! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

Her post was pretty good. I humbly say she debunked judgement stating that we all have our own life to write. I initially thought there was judgement she actually checked herself. I'm a low bmi as well and was ready to be like... no you didn't lol Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App

Newbie and low BMI and less than 100 pounds to lose
butterfly715 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello all I'm new to this and was trying to not talk about it because of the judgement I may receive from friends and family, so I decided to reach out to a diverse community. I'm about 5'6 230 pounds and decided to speak with my doctor about the gastric sleeve. Since having a hysterectomy I have not been able to lose weight. I now have HBP, pre diabetic, arthritis in my back and joint pain. I wear my weight well many say however the sickness and meds says otherwise. Any tips for those who have less than 100 pounds to lose ? For many years I've tried to lose weight and will succeed but it comes back with vengeance. I've done meds that lead to anxiety in my life and depression. This is definitely not a cosmetic decision but a change of life decision. I must be an example for my babies...
