When I first told my very close friend I was thinking about getting the sleeve she called me a "cheater", said I was taking the easy way out.( she herself is struggling with her weight) Because of that statement I was on the fence about surgery for 6 months. When I decided to get the surgery I didn't tell her until 3 days before. ( I was trying to stay in a positive frame of mind.) By NO means did I take the easy way out. This journey has been the toughest yet, with the recovery, chronic constipation, making sure I'm drinking, getting my protein and my vitamins. Now it seems like every time I talk to her she is trying to sabotage my progress. I love her to death, but her negativity is a real downer. Without being rude, how do you deal with negative people? I'd like to addi had no health issues before surgery, I was just tired of being fat and tired.

Thanks for all your advice, I think I will set boundaries and not take anyone's crap! I did this for ME. I'm gonna ignore all negativity and just DO ME. [emoji182]. P.s if they still chose to mess with me...I will tell them to kiss my shrinking ass!

What did you do with your clothes?
Queenie4U replied to Lise2021's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to keep everything..my fat clothes, my skinny clothes and the ones that actually fit. Lol. I LOVE getting rid of my fat clothes and realizing that I will NEVER be that size again! Currently I'm getting into a lot of my skinny clothes, but every month or so I get rid of the stuff that doesn't fit, I take it to the second hand shop. With every donation they give me a voucher for 30% percent off, so I try and pick up a few items. -

Anxiety over surgery procedure.
Queenie4U replied to Sugarnspice's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on the fence about this for about 9 months. I went to all the classes required by Kaiser and I did lose some weight. I kept saying I didn't need it. (I was scared) but in the end I decided that I needed this for ME. That I needed to put on my 'big girl' pants ( no pun intended) and do it! It's the best decision I have ever made. Try meditating before surgery, that's what helped me. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

Queenie4U replied to Mishell237's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try munching on ice chips, that helped me. Also you can try warm Water by tablespoonful every 5 minutes or so...I know it's a drag and hard work but it does get easier. Hang in there! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

Queenie4U replied to mamapaige's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my sleeve on 12/13/16, and just this week I started to feel like my old self. I too was winded and fatigued. My best friend reminded me that I had major surgery and it takes time to heal. Last week I was blah ( technical term ) lol. This week I'm a ball of energy! It gets better just hang in there. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
