You were not playing, lol. I can't wait to hear how everything came out. Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App -
I have a severe needle phobia myself so I get where you're coming from. Luckily the needle is so small and if you pinch the skin you don't even feel it. [emoji3] Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App

How does the Sleeve effect your Singing Voice
HB76356 replied to MelissaRose24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Anecdotally, my ex had the bypass done and she has had no issues with singing, she just had a solo in the holiday pageant at her church actually. Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App -
Dating after surgery..
HB76356 replied to hdsjourney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on 1-23 of this year. I had to really thought about it to be honest. I figured just explaining how heavy I used to be would explain enough. If you want to go further, just let them know you made a decision for your health. Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App -
I haven't noticed any loss, thank goodness. I think staying on top of your vitamins and protein goals helps. As far as the skin, I definitely will need surgery down the line Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App

I don't know about Pilates, but if you try a couple of those yoga poses and hold them like they tell you too, you'll see what the hype is about. I'm actually just dabbling in it myself (trying to get more range of motion), but it wears you out, lol. Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App

It definitely takes some getting used to, but it's well worth it. I was a different person after I used it for less than a week. I used to go to bed early, like 9 - 10 hours of sleep, just to be half dead all day. Now I'm perfectly fine with 6-7. Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App

Glad I found this thread! I started off years ago (around 2010). Realized I had managed to get up to around 640+ pounds. I was very lucky as my only co-morbidity turned out to be sleep apnea. I started trying to lose the weight and had the usual 'ups and downs'. I got down to around 520 by last May and decided to get the sleeve. I got down to about 480 during the six month weight. And I'm down to 446 since the surgery (1-23-17). So far so good. I think I hit my first stall, but I can't weight to get back to lifting and boxing. I think the results I always missed before! The info on these forums has been an invaluable tool! Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App

Well, I'm definitely within that 3rd week stall. I'm trying to focus on the fact that there's no way to maintain the weight I have, with the food I'm taking in. Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App

Successful bypass surgery doesn't feel successful
HB76356 replied to scott72's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Sometimes people can feel threatened by the change they see in you. They don't know if they can have the same success. It can create insecurity and even lead to sabotage. I started trying to lose weight on my own (and had some success, just nowhere near fast enough), my ex was fine until I really started making headway. You know what I got for my birthday that year... A deep fryer. WTF!? LOL You can't make people be ready for change when you are. Just work toward the best you. Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App -
I think you will be OK. It seemed (to me at least) that they wanted to make sure you were making an informed decision and that you were ready for the ups and downs. I know I surprised my doc when he came back with my eval. He went over everything and asked me what I thought. I told him it was pretty spot on (I think he was expecting some push back, lol). Looking for people that had their surgery on January 24th or close to it.

When I'm able, I found this recipe for pizza with cauliflower crust. It actually didn't look too bad. I figured it couldn't hurt to try! Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App -
Congratulations! Don't freak out if your weight loss stalls a bit in the next week or so. Almost all WLS patients experience a stall in their third week. I've been reading that. I'm trying to get my mind right for it. I'll be starting at the gym on Monday morning (cardio only until I feel 100%), but I'm hoping that will help. Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App

I had my sleeve surgery Jan 17. I'm eating puréed food now, but i can eat way more that it seems other people on the forums are eating. Kinda concerns me. I have 1/2 cup (4 oz) containers and i can easily eat that much without feeling much restriction. Seems like everyone else eats 2 bites and is full. What's up with that?I think everyone is different. I was never on just puree'd food. About 3 days after I got home it was roasted chicken, or pot roast, in broth. I started around 3oz and now I'm up to four. No REAL solid food, but soft seems to work for now. Down 20 lbs since surgery on 1-23-17. Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App -

No problem! It does seem that way when you are trapped in the middle, but the day will come before you know it. I'm doing ok so far, still some pain, but that appears to be the norm. Looking forward to getting back to working out (with more results!). Sent from my Nexus 6P using the BariatricPal App
