I also would get a horrible rash under my breasts. I used Desitin baby creme. Worked great, put in on at night and rash was gone in the mornig.

    Last Meal Syndrome?

This is just what I am feeling. I got my surgery date today. And can't keep my mind off of food. Thinking how much I will miss eating whatever and whenever I want. I am prepared, but a little nervous about life without lots of food in it. I get banded on May 6th. This is the first time I've posted here. I've been lurking for about a year. I was thinking of posting the exact same thing that you did. Tonight I ate too much and not feeling real good right now. I think I'll be thinking of food until I start the pre op diet. BTW how do you all put that weight bar on your posts?

Feeling I may not be approved

Don't feel too bad, My insurance requires a year of a Doctor supervised program. Very upsetting to find out.

    GP derailed me today!

I would find another GP in a heartbeat. Unless he has a medical reason for his opinion, I'd get a second opinion. Have you had this GP for a long time? Does he know your history with weight? My insurance requires a year of documentation from my doc in a structured weight loss program. Good Luck. I hope it works out for you wimpys
  5. My insurance requires a year of trying to lose weight on my own. Seeing a Dr every 3 months in a structured plan. Okay, I can do that. I will probably lose weight too. I've done it, oh, let's see, ABOUT 300 TIMES!!! Now the problem: I'm sure you have all lost weight on your own before you got banded. Probably as many times as I have. BUT, if I lose more than 15 pounds in that year, then my BMI would be less than 40 which is below the insurance company's standard for getting the band. Sooooo, What do I do? Dr wants me to join weight watchers, but that's going to be hard seeing that I really don't want to lose much weight. I could always lose, I could never keep it off, and I never lost as much as I needed to lose. Carol
  6. I saw Dr Oh first. then Dr. Srinkanth. I really like him. I think he used to be with Dr. Oh. I haven't been banded yet. I just found out my insureance requires a year of diet and nutrition stuff first. I was so dissappointed. Where are you in WA. I'm in Yakima. Carol
  7. That's exactly what my first seminar was like. I was going to give it up. I was not ready to give up dairy forever and this dr included meat with the restrictions. I knew I couldn't do that. I decided I had the wrong Dr. and tried another seminar. That was after reading about the things people can eat on this site. I learned more here. My second seminar was a lot better and I liked the Dr a lot better too. I wonder if we went to the same Dr. Are you in WA State? I would try another seminar and another if you have to. Good Luck Carol
  8. Hi Paul, Im exactly where you are. Went to the seminar Monday and soooo many things to think about. The doc said no carbanated drinks ever again, no ice cream ever again, no meat ever again. I dont know if I can do that. If it's true, i don't know how anyone can do that. I've seen posts on here about eating a couple of bites of ice cream and having a mountain dew. If that is so, I could do that. Meat is sort of hard to give up, but I wonder if I really have to give all that up forever. Any one have any advice for us still thinking on it.????? Carol
