12 days post op = struggling

Try not to worry or get frustrated. It used to take me 2 hours to drink each protein shake and that's normal. I bought 1oz medicine cups off Amazon and used to pour my drinks into those to make sure I was drinking slowly. When I got to purée I made my own meats and broths and borrowed a friends vitamix to purée it very smooth. I also liked part skin ricotta (mixed with a bit of water if you like it thinner/creamier. I lived off those things for awhile. It will get better, your body is healing. Good luck!

    Eating to live

I had my surgery in the beginning of February. The most amazing part is that it somehow took away the cravings. I can resist the things I should and for the first few weeks eating and drinking is such a job you will get sick of having to do it. Imagine that. I actually uttered the words "I wish I never had to eat again" and was stunned! After a few weeks your taste for food comes back and you can enjoy it, just in smaller portions. And the surgery really helped with my sugar addiction so making the right choices and enjoying them is easier. My big Italian family is very excited for me and so is everyone I've told about it so no worries about being rude! Plus I always ate a lot of food fast....you will just be eating a little food in the same amount of time. Good luck to everyone. It really is an amazing tool.
  3. Thanks so much for sharing your whole story! I'm 9 days post op and feeling great but the road to surgery is a whirlwind and life afterwards is a full time job of timing and measuring ounces of liquids. Now that it has settled down it was really great to read inspiration from others to help me frame and identify what my own journey will look like. Keep up the great work!

    Tomorrow's the Big day

I'm so glad to hear you are doing well! I'm home having no problem with Water as well but Protein has been harder, just feels Heavy and like a lot of pressure. My protein goals Are 80mg instead of 60 because of my amount of lean muscle. im so glad you got to take such a long walk! We had a snowstorm here so I have been stuck just circling the house!
