You look great. You give me hope because I am going in on 12/11 for my surgery. Very nervous but excited to start seeing this type of progress. -
Surgery date 12/4 - Finally freaked
Debbie9966 replied to sunbunny83's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am the week after you 12/11 and I am getting to the freaking out stage now. I am almost single digit days away and scared to death. I am 51 and was just diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in June. It is mostly affecting my legs so I know I need to get this extra weight off as soon as possible. Good luck to you and stay strong we can all get through this. -
I am so worried about this too. My surgery is on 12/11 and I am so worried I will get sick before. I took Zicam to try to fight anything off. It really depends on how bad it is but if there is a chance of infection they probably won’t do it. Its for your safety so nothing unfortunate should happen to you afterwards. Take care of yourself and good luck with your journey.

What can possibly go wrong?

Good for you. Congrats on the wonderful milestone. -
GREEN POOP (sorry, TMI...lol...but seriously, I need to ask about this)
Debbie9966 replied to Creekimp13's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It also can be the coloring of the jello you are eating. If you are eating lime or lemon jello those dyes will cause a change to your stool. -
2 weeks till surgery (12/11)!!! I start my pre-op diet tomorrow so going out for lunch to enjoy my “last meal”. I am ready for this change and am looking forward to my do-over at a normal life. Good luck all fellow sleevers!!! Anyone else scheduled 12/11?

Glad to hear all went well. I am going in on 12/11 and feel the same way - excited but scared. It is great to hear everyone's stories and their progress through the months. You all give me such hope. During this whole process I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease so I am hoping this weight loss will make my legs feel a lot better. Mine is all in my legs and feet. I do not have any tremors or pain/cramping in my arms or hands at all. Legs are getting weaker so this weight loss should really help.

I am having the sleeve. Good luck to you. Looking forward to hearing everyone's progress.

Well my 8 month process has finally paid off and I was scheduled for December 11. Getting seriously nervous but anxious to get it done. Just ordered all of my supplements I need to take after surgery and picked up about 2 months worth so I have time before I have to order more. Starting to pull stuff together that I need to pack for the hospital and now to focus on getting the house cleaned and plan menus for the first few weeks. This is scary but I need to get this weight off. Good luck everyone.

3 Months Out Progress and Height Surprise!
Debbie9966 replied to DropWt4Life's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow amazing progress already. You give me hope. I go in 2 days to be scheduled for mine and I am hoping to have my surgery 12/11. In the past year I have actually shrunk 1 inch so hopefully I will get that back. At 5'3" now I can use all the height I can get. Keep up the great work and I hope to see this kind of progress by spring/summer 2018. My heaviest was 316 and I am about 290 now. Just can't wait to get into the 100's again!! Best of luck to you and everyone else going through this process. -
My insurance finally approved me on 10/23 but my doctor can't see me for 6 more weeks (11/17) which he requires before scheduling the surgery. My daughter wants to be there and stay with me for the surgery and the first week but just started a new job. There is only one week 12/11-12/15 that she is able to come so I am hoping so bad to be able to get done that week. I understand there is a process and I am typically really good about these things but it is just so important to me that my daughter be there. She lives almost 3 hours away so it won't be easy for her to come back and forth. I tried to get them to schedule my surgery and then I would still have my appointment on 11/17 but they won't do that. As of yesterday that time frame was available but they said it may be possible with all of the upcoming appointments that it may book up. Deep breath. It will happen as it's meant to happen. Have to relax and hope for the best.

Trying not to get frustrated

They said they don't keep a cancellation list. It's up to me to check in to see if anything changes. Thanks though. -
What Post-Sleeve Rules Do You Break?
Debbie9966 replied to SassyScienceNerd's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have always sabotaged my weight loss over the years so I am scared t death to go through this surgery to just blow it in a few years. I know I won't follow the plan 100% but I need to be as careful as possible. My sister had the bypass and gained everything plus more because she ate too much and stretched her stomach out again. I hope I can stay on target after my surgery and make this a lifelong change. -
Well all of my reports and tests have been forwarded on to insurance so I should hear back soon. What time frame did it take everyone for insurance approval? My goal is to have the surgery in December. During all of this insurance testing, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease so I need to get this weight off of me as soon as possible. It is affecting my legs and they are getting so weak. My hope is to lose a decent amount of weight to delay the possible wheelchair. I am so nervous at this point and feel like I am going to explode waiting for an answer. This is the biggest thing I have gone through and keep worrying that I am going to chicken out. Reading everyone's stories help so much and makes me want to get moving with progress. Good luck to everyone with surgeries coming up and to those already on the losers bench keep it up and keep posting those stories. It really does help those of us that are pre-op and getting nervous through this process.

Any Jersey sleevers??
Debbie9966 replied to sleevedAndRelieved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Mrz - Bellmawr here. Very close to you. Have you had your surgery yet? I am probably looking at December for mine. Just went to insurance review last week. Good luck everyone! -
I agree with Macy Gray. Premier protein shakes are the best I found. I am very picky and have never found any that I liked. I am probably having my surgery in December but have been drinking one for breakfast everyday for months now. I like the vanilla and chocolate. It also comes in strawberry and banana but I didn't like those two.

Well I have my last Dr appt next week for my requirements. I have had so much go on during all of these doctors visits and didn't think I was going to make it through everything. I had a gynecological issue that I needed a procedure for, found heart related issues that are ok now, then the biggest shock is I found out I have Parkinson's disease. I refuse to let any of this sidetrack me from getting healthy. In the long run the weight loss will help with my Parkinson's because it is affecting my legs right now and they are weak so weigh loss will help a lot with that. Looking to have my surgery probably October/November. I am both nervous and excited about this new start. Good luck to everyone going through their journey.

I was comfortable with my decision to do the gastric sleeve surgery. During all of my required tests and procedures, I am finding a lot of things wrong with me. One thing that came up was a "female issue" which I needed to go in and have an out patient procedure done this past Friday. Because of my sleep apnea, they decided to use a breathing tube, even though it was just a 30-45 minute procedure. Well apparently at some point I stopped breathing and they couldn't wake me from the anesthesia for about 2 hours. Has anyone had this experience and then were ok for a major surgery? I am so scared to go under anesthesia again, and I still have at least 3 more minor procedures that I need to be put under for. If i continue to have these problems, could I be rejected for the surgery? I am glad I am finding all of these things, but I am so tired of getting bad news around every corner. Then to get through all of this and be told I am too much of a risk will really put me over the edge. I know they need to do what is best for my health (and life), but I won't know what to do if I can't get this help. I have lost almost 30 pounds on my own so far, but I don't know how much more I can do on my own due to physical constraints. I pray no one else goes through this, but if there is anyone that can provide some advice on how you handled these issues it would be appreciated.

How many weeks to request off
Debbie9966 replied to MelissaRose24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please make sure you take care of yourself. You have to get your water and protein in or you may wind up back in the hospital. Your job is important, but you are more important. As with all of us - it's time to make ourselves the priority from now on! -
Congratulations to all of the March sleevers! Hope everyone is recovering quickly and everything is going smooth for you. I would love to hear some of your experiences so I know what to look forward to in a few months.

EXHAUSTED BUT EXCITED BY THIS JOURNEY
Debbie9966 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my first meeting with the surgeon on March 2, received my list of all my required testing and procedures. Every step of the way there are issues found which add more appointments. I now have two procedures pending cardio clearance because I had an abnormal EKG and they think i may have had a prior heart attack. I have found gynecological, cardio, sleep, and bloodwork issues that all need to be addressed. Appointments 2-3 days a week for the past 3 weeks, with some days having 2 appointments each. I just had my cardiac stress test yesterday and that came back pretty good so I think I am finally getting cardiac clearance to get my other two procedures done. So far they have found: gyn issue; gallstones or calcified gallbladder; hiatal hernia; several blood test results showed issues; abnormal EKG, sleep apnea; pre-diabetes; and also I am dealing with back issues and that testing has come back that my degenetartrative disc has gotten worse. I am trying to get through all of these appointments as soon as I can so I can get this surgery. I know it is still going to be a lot of work afterwards, but I just want this help to not feel so hungry. I am just looking forward to getting some of this weight off to start feeling better. I started to lose hope while hitting all of these bumps in the road, but I refuse to get off course. I know this is all needed to make sure I am as healthy as possible. My hope is by mid-summer to be approved for surgery. My birthday is in September and I would love to have the surgery behind me and a little weight off to feel a difference by then. I started March 2 and my last requirement is scheduled on May 2. I hope it doesn't take too long to get through review of the doctor and then forwarded to the insurance company for approval. -
I am in South Jersey. Making my way through all of my appointments and am coming up with other issues I was not aware of. The worst one is that my EKG came back abnormal which they said could mean I had a previous heart attack. I am going to the Cardiologist on March 28 for further testing. I am so worried about my health at this point and also the possibility of not being approved for surgery now. Has anyone else gone through this type of issue and how did it turn out?

3 months and 1 week out!!
Debbie9966 replied to _bribri1001's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow you are looking great. I am just starting the process and enjoy hearing everyone's stories. The stalls always break me when I try to lose weight so I can imagine how frustrating it is when you had surgery. Try switching up food and do some more approved exercises. Don't give up and just dig in and I am sure you will be successful. Keep up the great work. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
