Drinking liquids not easy going
Meg53 replied to Sheran4eva's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi yes very thirsty. I could glug down a jug of water right now if only my sleeve would let me. That said I have managed 32oz so far today and there's still about 6 hours drinking time left. -
Drinking liquids not easy going
Meg53 replied to Sheran4eva's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Me too. I am Day 9 and I struggle each day to get the water down. Have to focus and concentrate. Hot herbal teas are fine and so are protein shakes. Very strange.....but obviously same as many. I will persevere because Previously I have never lost weight on less than about 64oz water a day. My body seems to need to be really hydrated to let go of fat. -
Weird eh. I can do yoghurt, chicken, fish - just so long as it's all puréed up. Good luck again.

Looking for people that had their surgery on January 24th or close to it.
Meg53 replied to Misty Barnhart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all I was sleeved on 23rd in Sydney Australia. Still finding water harder to drink than anything. Protein shakes much easier than water - really don't like the taste but it has to be done. Very surprisingly warm tea is easy to drink. I had two cups of ginger tea yesterday and they went down well and felt very healthy and comforting. Am drinking English breakfast tea right now in a cafe - it's Saturday morning here. Good luck with your journeys everyone! -
Awesome progress. You are an inspiration. Thank you!

Hiya I am six days post surgery and dreaming of food too. I am trying to turn it into positive and planning tiny delicious meals. I just had half a baby pot of natural yogurt with cinnamon. Meal options today (all mush) might be some white fish with a cream, dill and lemon sauce plus a few bright green peas. Or maybe refried beans with a little melted cheese, salsa and sour cream. Yum yum. Looking forward to meal times later today. Can't believe how little goes down! I have loved reading the recipes of the world according to eggface blog. She adores food and seems to cook all the time and has lost so much weight it's inspirational. Good luck with your journey to health!

Hi all Haven't joined the facebook page yet, am not a regular and last looked at my page about 12 months ago. Will sort next week. High cholesterol (9.5) and blood pressure greater than 165 over 120 was the breaking point for my doctor. He read me the riot act about stroke and heart disease (in my family too) and said he thought surgery would be something I should consider as he's had patients who were very successful. So hopeful that I can come off the meds in a couple of months. Hubbie is telling me my face looks thinner. I haven't weighed yet. Today is Day 6 and I've had half a baby's natural yogurt pot with cinnamon and a cup of tea for breakfast. Sitting in a cafe - no one would know I was sleeved on Monday!! Tea is actually very easy to drink. I am going to try really hard to get to 2L water, 50g protein and 5,000 steps today. More than two thirds there yesterday. I do feel a kind of euphoria....there is a point in the future where I will no longer be overweight. People who haven't been there just don't understand what an awful drain it is. So much wasted energy in feeling fat and sad and hopeless in being able to counter it. The future seems very bright. Have a lovely Saturday all.

Hi Banded Becks am in Sydney. Where you? Each day getting better. Yesterday I had two shakes, about another half litre of water and a cup of ginger tea, plus a 30 minute walk. Lots of sleep too. Middle feels a bit uncomfortable sometimes but I am pleased to be off the meds. Am going to try for 50g protein today and 2L water, plus a walk. Have been making lists of all the yummy small protein rich puréed meals I can move onto once past this full liquid stage. Have found a couple of great blogs - the world according to eggface and gastricsleeve4me which have helped pass the time. Have booked hairdressers for highlights this arvo. Think it will be a great treat. I will sit and relax and drink peppermint tea Have a good day everyone. Hope the post surgeryites are getting better. Every day is a bit easier.

Plan on buying a fit bit tomorrow. Thanks all

Hi all happy Straya Day! Am now Day 4. Off drugs (as can't bear the thought of getting constipated and the pain is very mild now) but still had vaguely hallucinogenic dreams last night. Just had half of my first protein shake. Took about 25 mins. Having a short break and then going back to it. Feeling better. Wishing Aussiecosy and Banded Becks a pain free day.

It's a life changer - progress pics 2.5 months out
Meg53 replied to lore's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congratulations and well done. How amazing to have that change in just 2.5 months. Wish you well this year. -
Hi aussiecosy They took me in to a prep ward where I got changed at 12. At about 12.30 I was moved to just outside theatre. The anaesthetist came in and put the needle in. Next I knew I was in recovery, probably about 2.30. Then up to my room about 3.30. Very fast really, all a bit blurry. Last night was a daze. I think I have been very lucky, but I think lots of people find it straightforward. Do hope you do well.

Just starting my journey. You look lovely. So that's 50lbs in about four to five months. Has it been steady? Or full of stalls. Any tips? Thank you.

Never thought this was possible
Meg53 replied to rydersmama's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations on your success. You look beautiful. And thanks for the tips. It really seems to be true - lots of protein and lots of water. -
@@aussiecosy hope you feel as well as I have done over last 30 hours. Still tough work sipping the water, have to take it very slow....but I guess a smaller stomach is what it's all about. I used to glug a litre in a go. Plus all the food. Take good care all

Clement Tsang is my surgeon. At St Luke's. Very happy still as at day 2. He gave me photos! All very clear and clean. Very little if any pain or gas. Just sipping water, walking a bit and resting. Lots of googling of next stage food programs, and skinny clothes websites.... Will be discharged tomorrow. Not sure if I'll go straight home. Haven't told the children, or anyone but my husband, and I'm still woozy enough that they'll be asking questions. They are all naturally slim, fit and organic. It'll be OH MY GOD MUM WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? Reached that stage where this is my time for taking care of me in whatever way I can.....

Hi All I discovered this site yesterday morning. I was sleeved at about 1pm. So far, it has been very smooth. The hospital staff could not be kinder and more attentive. I have had a couple of incidents or dizziness and retching. Both when I got up to use the bathroom. I think they are medicating me fairly heavily. But I am awake at 3am. Sipping water in 30ml cups and having small ice cubes. Very excited about recovery and getting to my goal weight!
