Thanks... so maybe I should prepare myself for it. I walk about 40-50 minutes everyday. Comes to about 3-4 miles. Will I ever be able to run this, I wonder?

Welcome to the group then... I'm due on Oct 10. Reach out to me afterward and I'll let you know all about it Who's your surgeon; where do you hail from?
  4. Well, you caught yourself, that's something, right? ) glad you're feeling ok (even if just physically!)
  5. How are you doing now?
  6. What a complete douchebag! Not only is that rude but I'm sure there some unwritten law against this somewhere. I would change my tone with your pcps office and report him to his board! I'm so sorry you're going through this and I hope you find a good replacement soon!
  7. Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick!Frick! Thank you. For all of you who don't speak "nervous" I'll translate: Long story short; My date was postponed due to insurance hurdles and some personal stuff but it is now coming up FAST! I'm due to have my sleeve done Oct 10. So I'm nervous, yeah! I can't seem to get in the mood; not food-wise, not following instructions-wise, not eating or drinking properly. So yeah, I'm nervous. I'm only human; so as you all do, I too have stuff going on in my life that just compounds this nervosity. So yeah, did I mention I'm nervous? Thanks for letting me vent [emoji4] Phew... carry on!
  8. 1 day... to start after breakfast.... though honestly I think I'll do a modified version of the pre-op diet everyone is doing for a week or so just to get in the mood!
  9. Hi all.... I'm trying to get an idea what the 'day of' is like... I know all practices/surgeons/hospitals will be different but I'm interested in hearing how yours was. What time did you go, what time was surgery, what was done before surgery leading up to it etc. Let me know all about it? Cheers!

    Did not know that!
  11. I'm curious to see what I come up with. Food has been such a constant in my life that it'll probably take me a while to figure out what it is I want to do with my time.
  12. You're alright the phone app had me post in the man cave before!
  13. Well said! Heck, I want to find out what my style is. Not sure I know anymore. [emoji854]
  14. OMG, that one had me laughing out loud!
  15. Ok, so we're talking self-image, right? Thing is I never saw myself as fat, still don't (and I'm pre-op so duh!)... it's easy not getting pictures taken or standing behind someone... and I mean; how often do you really compare yourself with a skinny person standing next to you in front of the mirror. In todays day and age you can also get a fairly decent selection of clothing if you know where to look sooooo... who's fat? Me? Naaaah! Was exactly where you were in February; was ready, sooo ready in fact that I was shocked to hear about the 6 months I had to drudge through. I looked into Mexico... changing my insurance.... doing this self-pay... every option out there seemed better than to wait 6 more months of this reality. Buuuut...cooler heads prevailed for various reasons and here I am 3 weeks before my surgery. Look, I'm not saying 6 months isn't a long time; it is. In fact I still think it is too long but maybe half of that was incredibly useful for me. Wrapping your head around something like this -no matter how ready you think you are- is a different kind of animal entirely. With each passing pre-op milestone (month 1, month 2... dietician... endoscopy... etc) you gain a new level of understanding of what's involved. If you're a gamer think of it as leveling up before you meet the big boss. Good luck to you on your journey!
  16. Thank you very much guys, this is very helpful!
  17. My question is mainly for the ladies; has the surgery done anything for your libido? I've read that it increases the sex drive for men... what about women? Cheers!

  21. They tend to schedule it to have the room, cancelling is easier. They can always postpone if not approved in time.
  22. I'm ok with Premier. Chocolate and Vanilla... not so much the caramel, strawberry etc. they also make organic versions if that's your thing. Didn't like GenePro powder at all.
  23. Yay, something else to look forward to!
