So I am still a bit worried because I can eat 5.4 oz pkg of Greek Yogurt and 1/4c cream of wheat Cereal which was my dinner tonight. Do you hit like a hard stop when you try to eat too much? I really am trying to be aware of one but not really getting that full feeling at all. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

You just made my day Finding Carrie! I really am looking forward to that feeling as odd as it sounds. Let's be recovery buddies and I can learn from your trail blazing a week ahead of me. I want to lose 120lbs to get to my goal. My surgeon recommends full liquids for 2 weeks post surgery and I am just dying to chew something at this point! I just reached my pre-surgical weight yesterday from all the fluids and swelling from the procedure I am sure and I am ready to see those numbers finally drop for good now! So I agree that I have been exceedingly lucky with my recovery but I had absolutely no problems returning to work yesterday 1/30 after being sleeved Friday 1/27. I think the first 6 hours after surgery were the worst as they tried to get on top of my post-op pain but once they did it was a pretty quick recovery and by Sunday I was off all my pain and nausea meds. I was lucky in that I didn't require any hernia repair and I am sure that's part of why my fluids go down with no problems. I actually don't feel hardly any restriction yet and was wondering if she actually removed enough stomach but from reading others' stories on here, they say I will feel it more as I progress into more solid foods. Not trying to brag or anything just wanted to offer people who tend to recover well from surgery some hope. To me this was about like recovery from my gallbladder surgery that was also done laproscopically 2 years ago. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

My sleeve surgery seems almost too easy. So far.

So I was sleeved Friday and honestly feel fine tonight, just a bit sore in the stomach like I did too many crunches. I can easily drink liquids and even eat 5.4oz of Greek yogurt in one sitting. I sure hope I get the restriction feeling when I start solids or else this will all be for nothing because right now I honestly can't tell the difference. I had my sleeve done Friday and was planning on return to work Monday but preoperatively decided to give myself one extra day so will return Tuesday instead. That being said, I actually felt well enough today that I probably would be fine on Monday but will enjoy some quiet time with kids in school and hubby at work. I think binge watching Netflix is just the thing for my recooperation Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

All this encouraging info makes me so much less scared. Thank you! I am scheduled for my sleeve tomorrow morning at 6:30 and I am praying for a recovery like you all have had. I have lost 16lbs just since the first of the year and hope to lose 100 over the course of this year post op. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App -
And how are you doing post-surgery? Glad you did it?

Just wondering if anyone else is also doing this procedure as a same day surgery and paying the entire bill themselves Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

Pre-op diet starts tomorrow
Charisma replied to Stephanielp's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Going through this pre-op diet I've asked myself multiple times that maybe I should just do this for a few months and avoid the surgery, but I know I'd gain it all back in due time. Went from almost 400 down to 265 by living at the gym, and then slowly crept back up to almost 350. I'm tired of the yo-yo. Been overweight since I was a kid and I'm ready to be done with it. Exactly my sentiments! Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App -
Was the recovery about what you expected in terms of pain, nausea and light-headedness? Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

Day 4 of my liquid diet begins! I am down 7lbs but one thing this had showed me is that I definitely need the surgery. There is no way I could pull on Oprah and do a liquid diet for months like she did. It must have been heart breaking to gain it all back after going thru that. I personally am glad to be going back to work today to keep me distracted for the rest of my liquid diet. Surgery is on Friday and I am ready. For me it is the waiting that's the hardest part. I just want the surgery done so I can begin my healing. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App -
I am still hoping to be able to work next Monday after having the procedure Friday. I know it sounds optimistic but if it's not any worse than my gallbladder surgery I am hopeful Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

Our paths seem very similar! I am a dental hygienist, self-pay patient who had my first consultation on 1/2/17 and scheduled for the surgery on the 27th. Just curious where you are and how much you will be paying for your procedure. I am having mine at a surgical center and my total cost will be $12k in Utah. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App I'm in New Orleans, it's about the same. I'm having it at a surgery center and the cost was about the same 11.9K. Maybe we can be sleeve buddies Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I would love that! Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App -
I feel you! I am preoperative and have a raging cold and can't take anything. It sucks! How are you feeling otherwise being a week out? Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

My surgery is the 27th. Just finishing 2nd day of liquid diet and have a raging cold, cough and runny nose. Really hoping it's a quick one so they don't postpone my surgery due to illness. Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

If it makes you feel any better I am having my surgery on Friday and plan to return to work on the following Monday. I hear I will likely just feel very tired but not a lot of pain Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

I am in too! I started my liquid diet yesterday and will have my surgery on January 27th. I literally just downloaded this app and am new to doing much social media. Any tips? Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App
