    January Sleevers Check-In

I was sleeved 1/31/17. My highest weight was 247.4, the day of surgery I was 237.4, I am currently 206.2. I'm soooo close to getting under 200 which is very exciting for me! I'm feeling so good at this point I have gone from size 20 jeans to 16.

    Good Bye...

I love that! So much it literally brought a tear to my eye. Mostly because before surgery I could relate to every word you wrote. Congratulations on your successful break up and good luck on the rest of your journey!
  8. I went through something similar however it was my husband that was not supportive. He was hateful also when we would have discussions about it. He would say the same things, you r just taking the easy way out, just diet and exercise, your not even trying.... finally after my psych visit I decided I was having this surgery for me and my health and if he couldn't support me then I didn't need him because I had a lot of family and friends that did support me. Finally I told my husband I was having the surgery and eventually he was ok with it. He still doesn't agree with it totally but he understood that it was my decision and he just doesn't bring it up anymore. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and hopefully your dad will come around

    Body image issues

I know what you mean! It is nice to say I have lost 37 lbs but I just don't see it as much h as everyone else does. One of these days though we will get to say look how much I've changed! Good luck on the rest of your journey!!

    Body image issues

I completely agree! I have the same problem. I am still early in my journey but I am 6weeks post op and have lost 37 lbs since my pre-op diet. I have lots of people telling me oh my you look great how much have you lost now? But I don't feel like I've lost anything. My clothes do fit a little different so that does make me feel like I have lost but when I look in the mirror I still feel like I look like I did 6 weeks ago. But like Shell ???? Said, it's like my mind hasn't caught up to my body.
  13. I had similar issue. It was closer to the middle above my belly button. It was like a sharp stabbing pain. As long as I was sitting or laying I was fine. My dr told me it was from the internal stitches pulling with movement. He also said some people have this issue and some don't. I ended up getting a belly compression band to kind of hold everything in place and within a few days the pain was completely gone

    Anyone get lightheaded?

I'm so glad you posted this question because I have been having issues too! I have an office job and I do a lot of filing and almost every day I get light headed when I bend over to file in the bottom. Sometimes I even get lightheaded just getting up from my desk.

    SURGERY IS IN THE MORNING!!!

First of all congratulations on making it to surgery day. 2nd it is completely normal to have all of those different emotions at the same time. I was sleeved 1/31/17 and I was happy, nervous, excited, anxious and scared also. This support group has helped me get through each of those emotions. If I had to do it over again I would. Good luck tomorrow! You got this!!

    Feeling alone and discouraged

If you are a believer, God is always with you! He may not always answer prayers right away. But sometimes he answers them in ways we do not expect. Please don't lose faith. Hang in there and hopefully things will start looking up

  19. Congratulations!!! Best of luck on this new journey!
  20. 5 weeks post op and I am down 21.6 pounds. I know everyone loses at different rates but I just thought I would have lost more by this point. I'm still very happy with the 21 pounds though. My clothes are fitting more comfortably and I can almost go down a size. I'm eating right around 60-70g protein . Around 600 calories/day and I'm trying to get 64oz fluid but sometimes I have difficulty reaching that. Can you tell me your experience at 5 weeks??
