I had this issue. I really felt like I had to go, but nothing was happening and I was about 10 days out. My surgeon recommended I use a Fleet product and it helped.

Anyone else have no nausea ever and can drink a lot one week post-surgery?
sgz72 replied to tiff_nj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I was 8/25 as well. I also have no nausea at all. Very happy about that. Yesterday I felt hungry for the first time for something other than liquid, but I forced myself to just have another protein shake. My first 2 full weeks is liquid only, but soup is included, so when I can't take more sweet drinks I have tomato soup. I can see this is not easy, but I try to keep my eye on the end game. I wish us all a lot of luck and strength!! -

Hi HDScarlett! I'm glad you got to the cause of that pain and I'm glad it's only a couple more days to resolve. I feel ok today - I had to remove the waterproof wound bandages- made me dizzy, but I'm a wimp. This afternoon I go to my primary care doc for a quick check and then Friday I see my surgeon. Hopefully thing will start to settle down. Wishing you all good luck!

Hard time standing up straight
sgz72 replied to Cloebird's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was Aug 25, so I'm right there with you. I find transitioning from sitting to standing is tough. Once I'm up I have to wait a few minutes before I can totally straighten up. I think it's normal. I do have a lot of swelling so I'm going to try an ice pack. -

Hi again, my surgery was also the 25th. My whole front feels sore and bloated. I also don't need pain meds as you mentioned. I gained 5 lbs of water weight in the hospital and it's still there! I'm peeing very little. Hoping all this calms down. I took a walk yesterday and the moving helps a lot, but even my "fat" clothes hurt around my middle, so I can't wait to loose the fluid. Has anyone else gone through this?

So far so good. I'm still in the hospital, but maybe discharged later today. So far they have me pouring liquid into the 1 oz measuring cups (the kind III get with cough medicine) and drinking from those so they know I can tolerate liquids. My only real issue is with gas. They say they pump air into you during the surgery so it's all normal, but that's what hurts at the moment. How are my other August friends doing? We were 3 with the same exact date...

It's amazing how each doctor has their own protocol. No drain for me and no shots. Just rest, walking every 2 hours, and lots of clear fluids for 2 more full weeks. (That makes 4 all together). Hope all goes smoothly for you. I'm in. NYC. Where are you?

Question about protein shakes

I used Pure Protein shakes. Bought cases of them. Another friend recommended them and I like all the flavors. -

My day is tomorrow as well! Good luck to all of us. Excited and nervous. I lost 15 lbs in the pre-surgery diet, so I'm really excited to see what happens next. Let's all stay in touch! Good luck!!

I've finally gotten insurance approval and my date of August 25, 2017. It's a bit overwhelming, considering it's been almost 8 months already. Wish me luck!!
