3 days post op with a slight fever
pokerchick posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, I am three days post op and I am feeling better, but I just took my temp and it was 100.5 now its 99.9 My doctor said to call him if it gets above 101. I think I might have overdone it with activities today but I was just wondering if anyone else had this. My pain level has gone way down, I'm just really sore. I had gallbladder out, lapband out and was sleeved all in one day. I think that's why my pain was a little more than others I read about on here. -
3 days post op with a slight fever

I spoke with my doctor last nite and he said to take advil and tylenol and keep an eye on my temp. I did that last nite and my fever is gone. I just took it this morning and it was normal. As far as getting adjusting to drinking I haven't really had a problem but I think I might be getting some spasms if I drink to fast but I am really having to make an effort to take smaller sips. I just try to do 3 to 4 sips and then put it down and try again in a few minutes. I don't know what liquids you are using but I love crystal light fruit punch. I also find that hot tea really feels great going down. I hope your pressure goes down and fever goes away soon, keep me posted. -

Thanks Girls, I am waiting on the Dr. to call me right now, I'm just nervous. I have only had clear liquids so far. I will post with an update. Thanks again. -
Hello All, I had my lap band removed, gallbladder taken out and sleeved all at once. The first nite in the hospital was rough. The pain meds thorugh the IV were just not cutting it, so they gave me liquid hydrocodon which is doing way better. I must say that this was more painful than just the band but I am trying to keep in mind that I had 3 procedures done at once. I have been getting in all of my fluids possibley more than the 40oz reccomended. I do feel some acid refulx so i am taking prilosec OTC, gas X strips and liquid hydrocodon. When I take the liquid hydro it seems to aggrivate the acid a bit, and it sort of burn going down so I usually chase it with cold water which helps. I have been taking my temp and not running a fever and I have been getting up and walking around as much as I can. The pain I'm in seems like I just did 1000 sit ups type soreness. Hopefully I will be feeling better each day. Does anyone feel that there is something else I should be doing for the acid or in general?

Revising a band to a sleeve and have some questions
pokerchick posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello, I had a lap band in January of 2006. I lost weight very slow but steady and all was good for about 2 and a half years. I got food poisoning and had to have all of my fluid removed. After that I was never able to get my restriction right. Ok maybe that sounds crazy but thats what happened. Also in the last two years I have been v'miting and acid reflux, no eating in the morning, can't ever get full blah blah blah. Oh did I mention weight gain. Recently I went and had another fill and explained that I had been feeling worse than usual but some days I can eat way to much and others nothing. My doc sent me to have an abdominal scan and an upper gi. Well I have gallstones and my band was so tight that the barium would not go down. My doc then told me I had to have some fluid removed, and then told me that I should consider the sleeve because he thinks that I won't be able to tolerate any more fills. So I had the fluid removed and now of course I have zero restriction. This is scary I can eat whatever and big portions. I'm sorry for being so winded I just wanted to give some background. I am going on 7-8-10 to get a surgery date hopefully at the end of July for the sleeve. Ok finally my question is has anyone had the band to sleeve revision and the gallbladder out at the same time and what type of recovery should I be expecting. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks so much. -
Hello, My sister and I just were banded about a week ago. We are doing good so far, but we are having shoulder pain (from the gas I presume). I have heard that we are not suppose to take aleve or iburophen, but would it really hurt? I mean if we didn't tak eit all the time just every once in a while? Also can anyone suggest anything for us, tyllenol has just never seemed to work for either of us. I am a person who depends on aleve during that time of the month. I really need a solution before that time. Thank You Gretch :help:
