Try antacids to see if that is the issue too..

Any March 2017 sleevers! Let's share info!

I also prefer drinking much of the time. I don't stress about whether my protein is coming in solid or liquid form. Eating will come in its own time. I give you permission to drink more meals (I'm not a doctor, though I play one in the bedroom!).. so take the recommendation for what its worth.

    Newbie from PA!

Welcome! It is natural for the losses to slow down after the first couple months. Just keep chugging along, and in a year or two, you'll look like a whole new person.

https://www.google.com/amp/www.runnersworld.com/trail-running-training/hydration-system-reviews-0%3Famp Here are some reviews. Personally I think a backpack style might be more comfortable, but I've never been a runner. (I hike).

Since the pb is mixed in the smoothie, I haven't had trouble. I actually lick the spoon too, and that is heavier. Don't think I want to try a plain spoonful quite yet. The smoothie with yogurt can be a bit tart. Cottage cheese works too! My stall broke today! 269! (It is so much more exciting when the tens unit ticks down!) I haven't been in the 260s since 2008. Yesterday I was able to squeeze into previously too small pants. Not wearable yet, but I have faith it won't be long!
  6. Make sure you are meeting your protein and fluid goals. Did you lose a bunch preop? How many calories were you taking in prior to the preop diet? You might just be taking in too few calories and protein.
  7. Lol. Nut says listen to your body. Maxx says listen to your wife. (Berry tosses popcorn into mouth and crunches loudly)...

    3 week stall

My 2 week stall broke this morning. Guess what I did differently..... Nothing! It was just time. Everyone thinks there has to be something they can DO to "fix" a stall. But, by that reasoning, they believe they are currently doing something wrong. Unless you are power driving unicorn fraps, you aren't doing anything wrong. Nothing needs to be "fixed". Trust your body and the process.

    feeling full

You will start feeling restriction with chewable foods next stage. If you aren't meeting your goals yet, you probably are hungry or thirsty. And don't worry about stretching your pouch right yet. Keep to the prescribed quantities, and you'll be fine. Rule of thumb is no more than 4oz of anything that has to be chewed (cottage cheese or thicker).
  11. It doesn't look infected. That tissue might be a piece of fat. They might want to put in another stitch or some tape to keep it closed.

    Help me :(

When you are on clear or full liquids, there is no real reason to wait to drink. Liquids don't hang out in your pouch for 30 minutes. So if you are thirsty, drink! Once you are into more solid foods it does become important to wait. Docs want good habits from the start. But if you understand that you aren't waiting now, but you have to later, everything will be fine.

    Feeling weird

Your stomach is numb. Just drink slowly, meet your goals, and in a month or so when you are eating food, you'll feel the restriction.

  15. Ideally this early out you will be eating every 2.5 to 3 hours. Low blood sugar is technically below 60, so you are borderline. Since you are getting the hang of how you feel when you need to eat, you are doing the right things! To be safe, keep a carton of juice or glucose tabs handy all the time.

Ditto y'all. Surgery March 20. Down 20lbs since surgery, 35 total. In a stall right now. I can eat one ounce of dense meat, or 2 oz tuna salad, but 4 oz of cottage cheese or a pint of milk. Feel like I have to eat and drink all day. Haven't started getting many veggies yet. Only thing that hurt a smidge was the cheese on the egg. Provolone isn't soft enough. I take 22oz of coffee/milk/vitamins/fiber. Takes a couple hours since it is thick like pudding. Tastes good, but can't get anything else in before noon. Helps with the bathroom though! On day trips I make a yogurt, peanut butter, banana smoothie. Drink it while heading down the road. Tuna with ranch dressing is yummy!

    Struggling with the decision

Wowsers. I think next time you see the surgeon you could ask about switching.. If possible. In this case, since you like the important parts of the team, I wouldn't worry too much. The coordinator isn't cutting on you

    Hi im new

II had my sleeve done 5 weeks ago by Dr. Illan. It went very well. I flew to San Diego and was picked up in an unmarked car (a tad bit of confusion there). Drove straight to the Oasis of Hope hospital. Paperwork, preop testing, before I knew it they had me heading into surgery. I woke up in recovery. After just a few minutes they took me back to my room. I had almost no pain... Just sore abdominals. As soon as I was ready, I could head out of my room and walk. The valets would walk with me. That evening I was a bit lightheaded, but by morning it was better. Nurses came in every 2 hours to give medicine in the IV. On the 3rd day I got my first shower and was discharged to the hotel. Right after getting to the hotel we went out for shopping and food for 5 hours. The next day I was out for 8 hours! The hotel was very nice. I hope to go back next year to see everyone again with my new body!

    Struggling with the decision

Everyone worries about being the "1". But the vast majority are not. I'm 5 weeks out with a sleeve, and my hubby brought home a rum cake from Puerto Rico. I had a couple bites! It was very good and I didn't feel deprived. Before surgery I would have eaten 3/4 of the whole thing. There will be macaroons and wedding cake again. And your taste and smell will be stronger, so they will probably be extra enjoyable! My biggest concern for you is if you aren't comfortable with your team.
  20. Not sure who you're asking, but if it is me.. I've lost only 20lbs postop (if we count the 270). I get my 70g protein, and I guess I should count those other things. Oops. Last time I counted was a week ago. I was taking in 700-1000cals and 50-85 carbs. It is easier to get calories up with full liquids than soft foods (where I'm at now). Guess I'll start counting again and report back (if I remember!)

    More sleeves than pouches?

I believe so. At least there are about twice as many sleeves as bypasses performed in the US nowadays.

    Dental Health after Sleeve Surgery

There is an old saying... for every pregnancy, you lose a tooth. It's to do with malnutrition. Oral health... just one more reason to take care of ourselves after surgery!

    Scale lying?

Lol. We talk about non-scale victories, but you are proving that the scale truly isn't everything! Thanks!
  24. I flew southwest since they don't assign seats. I sat on the aisle. I didn't fit between both lowered armrests, so I kept the one toward the middle seat up behind my back. Fortunately there were unfilled seats, so no one sat beside me. Had the plane been full, I might have needed to take a different flight. (And I did pay extra at the gate for priority boarding).
  25. It's just water weight. I'm 5 weeks out and the scale jumps up and down by 4 pounds for the last week and a half. I think our bodies don't like consistent weight loss for long. (Scale is stuck between 270 and 274). Bet by next week it'll change!
