  1. Do you have type 2 diabetes? If so, how long have you had it and are you on insulin? Do you have GERD? Do you have a food addiction? What is your BMI?

First day on soft solids Not Good

Beef, anyway you cut it is not going to be soft enough. Wait on that until you are 9 weeks out. One exception may be chili. Soft solids is like tuna salad, pinto beans, hardboiled eggs, cottage cheese, mozzarella cheese sticks, etc. Mushy veggies are ok, but concentrate on protein sources.

    Eating meals

Sure! By 9 weeks out, usually we are on a pretty much regular diet so unless your program states differently, there are lots of foods you can try. 3oz should be what you can eat. Less of dense meat.

    Period/menstruation delay

Surgery messes with Aunt Flo's schedule big time. It may be early, late, heavy, light, painful, not painful, and sometimes nonexistent. Good luck!

    Low carb Vs. Calorie counting?

Oops..sorry.. vegan-ish doesn't equal vegetarian. My bad. Double oops.. no counting! Lol!

    Eating meals

Have you tried something as substantial as eggs that aren't eggs? Tuna salad or cheese? How do they go? Eggs aren't always well tolerated, so it may be the eggs themselves.

    Low carb Vs. Calorie counting?

We seem to have 3 vocal camps running around. Low carb keto. Low carb non keto. Vegetarian. Everyone counts calories.

    Eating meals

I'd contact your doc. .75oz isn't normal 2 months out. If you eat split pea soup or cottage cheese, how does that go? Have you noticed a decrease in your consumption.. like you used to be able to finish an egg and now you can't?

    No weight loss first week??

Next time I lose 2# in 4 days, I'll let you know. Surgeons ought to require patients bring their scale with them to surgery. The nurses steal them, only to be returned 15 days later. Give it a couple weeks, guys. And prepare yourselves now for the scale to stop moving from days 21-30, give or take.

    Abdominal discomfort

Of course, since you are not losing weight, they don't think you need tpn. Are your clothes getting looser? You didn't mention whether you had a ct scan or mri. We had a cat once that had a problem. Didn't realize it until he was obviously sick and we took him to the vet. Turned out he had 10 pounds of fecal material backed up that he couldn't pass. He never lost scale weight, but his ribs were prominent by then. (Barn cat, so we didn't see him as much as if he had been an indoor cat). Of course if you are retaining, an imaging study should pick up on that.
  11. Just to be clear, I've had all of one spoonful of white mashed potatoes, and literally one noodle (made hamburger helper for the kids and picked out ground beef for me and a noodle fell in. Tasted like paste!). I did eat a full serving (4-6oz?) of sweet potatoes while on vacation.. yum! I think they'll be my new splurge. Cake? No. Ice cream? No. Sweet potatoes? YES!! Lol. Kids might be disappointed when my birthday rolls around..
  12. I have this experience too. My TINY aunt can put away this ENORMOUS salad...

    Constipation

Definitely see a GI doc. You may have an extra long large intestine that is removing too much water. (It can happen!)

    exercise and stalls?

Oh man, where is that article when I need it? Anyway, basically when you work out extra hard, you retain fluid. When you ease up, your body lets it go. So you can decrease your intensity, or not worry about it.
  15. Grains are off the table for me until maintenance.
  16. The first week, a slightly elevated temp is normal. Anything over 100.5, run by your doc. If the low grade fever continues past day 8, mention it to your doc. If you start feeling bad... yep, mention it your doc. A temp of 102 or higher is go to the ER.
  17. Oh man, someone wants a beat down! Where does she live?
  18. 10 days postop is still super early. You probably did a bit too much, and might have needed to "eat" or drink.
  19. Thanks! It's such a habit now, I don't think twice about it The serving of raisins on the box says 1/4 of a cup, so a serving for me is actually 1/8 of a cup. (Which means a "normal" serving would be 114 raisins! Lol!) Of course 20 raisins is plenty too.. I just make sure I don't go "over".
  20. If/when you are allowed fruit, prunes have 1g carbs per 2g weight. So on my plan, I can have 30g of prunes (which turns out to be 4 prunes).
  21. Lol! Well, I try and remove as many strings as possible from the celery. Counting up the raisins.... According to the box, 40g of raisins contains 29g net carbs. I allow myself 15g of carbs from fruit each day, so I weigh out 20g of raisins, which happens to be 57 raisins (today). Here is a picture of 20g raisins and 1oz each of nuts/seeds.
  22. Having trouble linking, but his name is Dr.Duc Vuong and the video on youtube is called, "Why you should NOT exercise after weight loss surgery"
  23. It's probably because I don't work, and have no friends, so rarely come into contact with people. But, at least it keeps me from getting "Did you gain weight?"-ed!
  24. I agree, we have no idea what's happening.. I always say the mirror lies!
  25. Ok, so as we all know, clothing sizes do differ between brands, so the chart above is taylored to the one brand. I actually wear Christopher and Banks' trousers.. pretty much exclusively.. and turns out I shouldn't wear anything larger than size 10 in that brand! I had already set my goal to 10/12, so I don't have to modify it.. but in all honesty, I thought my goal was cosmetic, rather than health. Eye opening!
