How many times a day to eat?

Wow, sounds like no one actually does 3 meals and no snacks! (I'm happy to see it because it is hard to imagine getting the nutrition in with so few meals ). Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  2. You have had a rough go of it! Let us know what the doc says. When I had shingles, I was 6 weeks pregnant and also had Strep. I took the antibiotics for strep, but couldn't take anything for the shingles. Went away on its own after 6 weeks or so. It's amazing how these things come in clusters! Perfect pants for women after surgery!

I am so excited by this post. I have been wearing the same pants style for 8 years... but at $60 a pop, I won't be able to afford rapid size changes. I love the idea of buying clothes that will fit multiple sizes! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Liquid diet

When I make broth now (preop), I simmer the meat for a couple hours, strain, and chill it overnight, scrape off the fat, leaving a jello-like broth left. Heat to melt, and mix into recipe. Would this work post-op? It seems like everyone talks about boullion (which I don't like). Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  5. Where was your shingles rash? The rash can present anywhere along (and to the side of) the spinal column. Mine wrapped around under a breast. If yours was low, originating in the tailbone area, then I wouldn't be surprised if it affected your legs. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  6. I am going to try going through my insurance, but if too many hurdles are presented, I'm thinking of using Baha Bariatrics as well. (I live in Maryland, so travel is an issue). Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Hysterectomy during "honeymoon"?

I think you just need a hug! [Hug] They are doing hysterectomies on little 8 week old kittens. You'll be fine! (And feel better once healed up without all that blood loss each month.) Sometimes they do the hys. vaginally, so no scars. Ask about it. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  8. Might be a bit much food, and the celery might be tough on the pouch (thinking of the "strings"). Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  9. What a great question! I have the same one. Measuring food by weight helps with the calorie/nutrient count. But, if a goal is to not stretch the stomach, then it does seem the volume is as (or more) important than weight. What does a person do about things like salad? It seems like we should measure first, then weigh.??? Also, should the measuring cup have packed down food or not? (Some things this would double or triple how much can fit). 10. When in doubt, ask the surgeon. Might be he/she clipped a nerve during surgery. The shingles' effects could take a while to resolve completely too. Hope it gets better soon! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Napkin Drop

Lol! Flamboyant finish! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  12. This is exactly what I have found. A year ago I went gluten free. Didn't limit potion sizes, but lost 15lbs in 6 weeks. Had this gnawing hunger the entire time. Tried some bread, hunger went away... bam! Off the diet, gained back the 15, plus 15 more for good measure. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

  14. Are you continuing to be seen by doctors? They need to keep looking at you. I assume they think it is a viral infection, since no antibiotics. 2 months is too long for a virus. Can you take Probiotics? You might try loading up on them while waiting to see the doc. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Lemon

I imagine the problem is acidity. Likely for the esophagus, rather than the stomach (stomach acid is more potent than lemons!). Just a guess... Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Early stall

Your body is trying to heal and needs to hold onto Water to do so. No worries! The early days are about healing from surgery and learning how to drink and eat. The true weight loss (fat loss) happens later. Put away the scale! If you must have a record, do once weekly weigh ins. (And maybe let someone else do the record keeping!) What was your moment?

The last time I heard of bariatric surgery was back in the 90s when it was really dangerous (at least my perception of it). I just woke up one day and started looking into it. Have no idea where the idea came from, though I started thinking about a family reunion coming up, and how embarrassed I always am to see that side of the family. 18. Definitely something to mention to your surgeon. Any sort of "back sliding" is cause for discussion. (Not necessarily concern though, so don't panic!) Are you still drinking Protein shakes? They might help get you more energy. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  19. Yaaaayyyy! Does it work on the other side? When I cough, I toot.... Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
