  2. Have you done the math for how much the Vitamin supplementation will cost? I've heard it can be $150/month just for vitamins! Other than that, I don't know much about the procedure. Guess I have some homework to do Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

That is very low Fluid intake. Def. talk to your Doc. Might want to get some IV fluids, especially if you are ever dizzy. Your body will have trouble healing if it doesn't get the nourishment it needs. Let us know how it goes! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

  5. I've spent all day watching his videos. Neat guy! One question... he recommends Beans. I am preop, and my husband has virtually banned beans from my diet due to excessive and noxious gas. I love them, but they don't love me! Does Dr. Weiner have a recommendation about that? Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Virginia Medicaid

You will want to talk to your PCP, and visit bariatric centers that accept your insurance. Do you have a phone # on your insurance card? If so, give them a call and see what they say. Google will be a help as well. Be prepared in case things to go not-so-smoothly, so you won't be too disappointed if there are some hurdles to jump through. What part of VA do you live in? Dizzy Spells When Standing

Oh, wanted to mention, low blood pressure can also cause your vision to go dim or black upon standing, and your hearing can go briefly too. Low blood sugar will cause all kinds of bad feelings, but you'll feel better upon eating whereas blood pressure won't be fixed necessarily. I have a glucose monitor and blood pressure cuff in my home, so have easy access to the answers. I recommend everyone has at least a blood pressure cuff... Dizzy Spells When Standing

I agree that it sounds like low blood pressure, from dehydration, and/or electrolyte imbalance. We are so used to everyone saying salt is the bad guy, it is easy to forget we need it! cheese has some, but many of the other recommended foods don't. Start salting meats, potatoes, eggs, etc. Regular V8 is a good idea if tummies can handle the tomatoes. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    advice for beginners

Oh, and from your questions, it looks like you aren't very familiar with the surgery yet. Spend a LOT of time researching! You don't know what you don't know. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    advice for beginners

Yes, insurance slows things down considerably. People that want a surgery more quickly are self pay. Look up surgery in Mexico for reasonable rates. (Around $5000). What is happening in June? Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  14. Most surgeons don't allow weight lifting for at least 30 days. Always clear exercise with them! In the meantime, walk, lotion, Protein, Vitamins, and Water. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Sex after surgery

If you are less than 4 months out, I wouldn't worry about it. You have undergone a major surgery! If it has been longer than 4 months, then practice might help! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
  17. Well, I am in the same part of my journey (planning), and it looks like it will be low carb for the losing phase, and moderation during maintenance for me. Of course, I think this is a great question (and I'm posting so I can see others' responses). Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

    Doubts...

I'm glad she is going to be ok. You are right about the slap... But, such slaps can go 2 ways. They can make you afraid of the surgery, but they can also make you afraid to keep living the way you have been. Each of us has only 1 life. We need to live it well... My husband and I are both morbidly obese. I want to change, he doesn't. I will be getting the surgery and dropping pounds, and he'll stay the same. Maybe one day, with my positive example, he'll come around. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
