You will be sore, so you can’t exactly jump to solid food if that’s what you’re thinking , but you can do things like yogurt, pintos and cheese from Taco Bell, I purées a peach slice and it was heavenly. You’ll only be able to eat a few bites anyway at that point so it won’t be too bad.

Had my surgery last Monday and I have regretted it since day one!

Yes, my first few days I would simply dip my tongue into the medicine cup of water, I was miserable. Just keep trying as best you can, it gets better. Take it slow, stick with just water and protein shakes at this point and when you can tolerate that then add in purée. If you have a blender or food processor it’s easier to tolerate with no lumps at all. -

You could always say exploratory laparoscopy, where they go in and look to see if there’s something going on. Sometimes people have scar tissue from prior surgeries or sometimes nothing is found. But this way if you need to have say your gallbladder removed later on then you didn’t already use that.

Eventually you’ll be far from goal and people will start telling you you need to stop losing 🙄. Don’t worry, it’ll come. Congrats on your weight loss, I’m sure you feel a lot better

PLEASE HELP the skeptic in me. Doesn't starving = eventual weight gain??

Oh yes, I too did the hcg diet through physicians weight loss program and lost and then gained. That frustration is what made me look into surgery options. I had the sleeve 2 years ago in May . I feel that I East normal portions now. Not what I pre-op but a normal portion. For breakfast my daughter took us out to eat, I comfortably ate 2 silver dollar sized multigrain pancakes, 2 egg whites and 1 turkey sausage link. I was still full at lunchtime, so didn’t eat. For dinner I had a piece of kielbasa and sauerkraut. I don’t feel deprived. I usually have coffee in the mornings. I drink water or tea during the day. I am no longer losing weight so I’d probably have to make strict diet and exercise changes to lose more, but I’ve kept off what I’ve lost. -
Tomorrow is the day!!

Congratulations! My first thought was what the hell dod I just do, but it was the best decision I’ve made. Take your favorite chapstick and even though it hurts start walking in the halls as soon as possible and just keep doing it. It’ll help that gas to move on out instead of into your shoulder and causing pain. Congratulations on your next big step! -

What helped you decide on the sleeve?

That’s great, I think in class they told us stories about people eating sugary foods and thinking they were having a heart attack in the store, etc. I wasn’t ready for that. I’m happy with the weight I’ve lost, but wish it could’ve been more. -
I always hold water weight when I get my period and feel more bloated
-
If you don’t start before you probably will after. I walked into the bathroom when they wheeled me to my room after surgery and had started. The nurse said almost everyone starts it when they have the surgery.

I have always been able to tolerate any foods. Here’s something that may help, some foods are more filling like chicken or meat whereas what can be considered “slider” foods go through us more easily and we can eat much more of them. I’m not sure what a weetabix is but maybe it’s more of a slider food.

I had problems early on from dehydration and was told that I wasn’t drinking enough. But I did have a hard time getting fluid in for a while

This year I bought my first pair of knee high boots. I have more confidence now. I like being able to jog and take the stairs at work.

When did you stop loosing weight?
hmills653 replied to Dee2938's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I stalled at 6 months and had to go very strict with my diet to lose again, but pretty much stuck there since. -
What helped you decide on the sleeve?
hmills653 replied to 5in5's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wanted the option to still be able to eat whatever foods I want just less of them. I don’t eat dessert on a regular basis but wanted to know that if I wanted a piece it wouldn’t make me sick.
