  1. Im also losing unevenly. Still have my lower belly but lost alot of my butt and boobs, and some of my thighs. I went to goodwill and found a pair of jeans for $6. I wear scrubs to work and any only allowed navy and white so not much to do there. Thrift stores are good options when you're losing quickly and don't want to spend a ton of money.
  2. I tried to puree a hamburger and it was disgusting lol.
  3. I also have been that way. Im getting cramps in my calves as well. I know my potassium was a little low at my last blood work but my Dr never said anything about. I was thinking about calling her. Can you buy potassium otc. I don't know that I could eat enough bananas to make up for it.
  4. that's funny. I didn't like coffee as a child. My sister would sit at the table with the adults and sip milk from a coffee cup to look grown up. [emoji23]

Appetite suddenly gone almost 3months out.

I want even allowed to add veggies that soon. I meant at 3 mos you should have them incorporated back into your diet. At 2 weeks I was still trying to sip water and take soft foods. They didn't have me focusing on my protein goal quite that early. But each doctor is different from what I've seen.

Appetite suddenly gone almost 3months out.

I'm 3 months and get hungry and no problem eating. I try to stay under 1000 calories. I was struggling with lots of hunger and only getting in around 500 cal the first 6 weeks but not really after that. I would eat even if not hungry bc you need to meet your nutritional needs with protein and vegetables of you can't get anything else in.

    Protein After Surgery

That's odd. They discuss protein protein protein from the very first pre op supervised weight loss class.

    Nervous about being sleeved 9/25/2017

Congrats. I was the same way. The closer the date got, the worse it was. I tried to stay busy keeping the house clean and working and planting flowers and anything to not think about it.

    Calories at 3 months

I was told to try to stay under 1000 calories. Im usually between 700-1000. I feel like I'm losing slow though. Surgery was May 31. I've lost like 37# and went down 1 size. Im not complaining, I'm grateful for what I've lost but of course seeing others success can make me feel like I should be doing better.
  10. I'm 5' 4" and 3 mos post op and have to be careful to stay under 1,000 calories a day per muy surgeons recommendation. It's easy to go over for me if I didn't watch my calories and what I eat.

    Need info on vitamins

200% DV. I tried the Flintstone complete, but after a while they made me nauseated. I like the bariatric advantage soft chews in strawberry.

    Laziness, guilt, and dread

my husband couldn't take off work either but my mom took me to the hospital. I can eat anything at social gatherings. I take a small scoop of this and that so that I don't feel like I'm at this picnic a n can't enjoy myself but I try to make good choices as well. I went through a phase pre op where I got worried and tried to eat a much of the stuff I thought I couldn't after surgery. But I also used to worry that if I didn't eat enough at lunch then I might get hungry later and not be able to eat at that time. As it got closer to surgery date I tried to really follow the diet and exercise some. Now after surgery, I try not to get too much good bc I know it'll go to waste. Just try to focus on why you made this decision and know that you'll be able to eat anything again but it'll be up to you make the choice to be healthier and after you lose some weight exercise will be easier and more comfortable.
  14. I find that waters taste different to me now. I really like the lifewater with the added minerals. It tastes better and goes down easier.

    Family having pizza tonight!!

If we have pizza, I eat the toppings. That usually fills me up. The dogs get my crust, it's a win win.

    Bariatric Vegetarian Life

I was vegetarian for awhile. The funny thing is, go to subway and get all the veggies you normally would without the meat and you'd be surprised that you probably won't even miss it. My problem was to much pasta and carbs [emoji30]
  17. I was constipated at 1 week and ended up with one. I starred taking colace every day to help but now I'm more regular since eating vegetables its helped.

    I regret this surgery

I'm 3 mos and can eat anything at this point. Good and bad. Now it's up to me to make good choices, choose protein first and pass on dessert. I've taken a sip of pop and did fine, but was never a pop drinker. I've eaten a slice of cake without a problem. I want to lose weight so now I have to choose the lifestyle I want. I've been down the road of obesity and God has given me a second chance and I am taking it. I'm down 40# since surgery and haven't felt this good in my joints in years. You'll feel better a time passes and you'll probably change your mind. G good luck to you.

How do I stop eating so fast?

the only issue I've had with eating to fast when its already portioned is hiccups. which I'd probably get without surgery anyway. Sometimes at work I don't have time to eat so I will slam a greek yogurt.

    Having vsg Sept 8 2017

Congratulations. I'm going to be a grandma for the first time. My oldest is due in April and my second oldest in January. It's a 2 for 1 special.
  21. Oh Yes! I was sitting in my hospital room thinking what the hell did I just did to myself. The first three weeks I was uncomfortable dealing with gas, constipation, pain with trying to drink, the misery of wanting to chew. I did eventually take a salty potato chip and sick the salt off then slowly chew it to oblivion. It was a wonderful feeling. I got sick of protein shakes real quick. Chicken broth was nice. I never tried the unflavored protein powder but people in here have used it, this can help get your protein with more variety of liquids. By week 3 I felt alot better and I'm glad I went through with it.

Ladies: The Body differences when you are slimmer

The first place that wrought loss was noticeable is my face and its working its way down oddly enough. When I first went back to work everyone noticed my cheek bones. So it went cheek and collar bones, my teen daughter asked why my hands look bony, I told her my skin is older than hers. My upper abdomen is flatter. I have only gone down one pant size from 22 to 20. 3 mos post op so this is somewhat upsetting. I notice bagginess in my thighs and butt of pants. I really want to lose this belly. I guess it'll take time. I'm grateful for what I've lost, it's just I had my appt with surgeon yesterday and the girl that was about my twin and had surgery the same day looked so much thinner to me with her little chicken legs (meant with love). I'm down 37# since surgery. I know I couldn't have do be that much on my own.

Ladies: The Body differences when you are slimmer

I wish I could get small enough to not need one [emoji23]
  24. I haven't had caffeine since surgery 5/31. I'm not back to work yet, but otherwise feeling pretty good without it. I used to drink coffee all day long. I also noticed haven't had any palpitations either which probably were related to the caffeine. Prior to surgery, I was told that I could have caffeine at 2 weeks once I was drinking 64 oz of non caffeinated fluid a day. I was like oh no problem, I'll do that, I need my coffee. Well 5 weeks out and not hitting that goal yet. Curious if anyone gave up caffeine for good. It may be too early yet to know if this will be a permanent change.
