I would try to meet requirements for both and use one as a secondary insurance to reduce your out of pocket expense.

I have a $3100 deductible. I pay 100%of any medical costs each year until I met that deductible. After that, I pay 10% and my insurance pays 90%. My yearly out of pocket maximum is $5000. So once I reach $5000 I pay nothing else. This includes the $3100 I pay for deductible and anything else until it reaches $5000. Hope that helps.

Do you know if you can use this in conjunction with an HSA if you don't have the available funds?

If he's going to cheat on her, he's probably going to cheat on you also. The baby complicated things bc there's that bond. You'd feel guilty with yourself if he left his wife and baby for you. Don't let him put you in that position. -
I'm 42 and slowly chipping away at my MSN. Taking a break now until after surgery. Congratulations. It's easier now that I know my girls are old enough to do their own laundry or make something to eat if I'm too busy.

I had a spray tan and she had me keep my panties on so they covered my belly. I felt awkward enough standing half naked in front of someone but it was part of a spa package from my husband as a gift.

Returning to work after sleeve surgery

I'm a nurse on a med surg unit. I was told to anticipate 4 weeks. They said it's easier to get a note to come back early than request through hr to extend my time off unless of course there are complications. They said they usually don't have anyone go over 4wks off. -

You look great. I love the glasses. I have been nervous about taking any pics, but that may work lol -
I was planning on buying stretch pants do I don't have to replace them as often. I don't want to spend a ton of money to wear something a few months. What are everyone's thoughts on this. I'm preoperative.

First Vacation With New Stomach

I saw swimsuits geared toward people that had weight loss surgery. There are shorts and tips that help hold in extra skin while still looking fashionable if that would make you feel more comfortable. -
Weird insurance question!

I have a $3100 deductible. There's no way I can come up with that by the end of May and still pay my bills so I'm hoping it will be billed after and I can make payments. I have an HSA but still being reimburse from last year's medical bills. -
None of us got to this point from eating right. Try to find your triggers and ways to deal with them other than binging.

Yeah. Maybe it was denied bc they have a specific requirement that you can accomplish.

Before and After Photos

I know the goal weight my surgeon set for me doesn't seem to me what would be my"ideal weight". I am 5'4" and they said my post op goal would be 165#. Don't get me wrong that would be great from where I am now at 240# but thought they would want me lower than that. I'm not sure how they come up with their numbers though. -
So Humana doesn't cover the sleeve?

My surgeon office has an insurance specialist to look into all that. Ask yours if they do also -
Before the pre-op liquid weeks,

My surgeon wouldn't submit to insurance until I met the weight goal they set for me. I would try to focus your mind on other things if possible. I plan on picking up a few extra hrs at work to make up for the 4 weeks I'll be out. They just submitted yesterday. They said surgery will probably be the end of May. My fear is gaining weight meantime and having them not do the surgery. -
I finished everything, they submitted to insurance yesterday (3 wks after I completed everything). But told me my surgeon is taking the month of April for vacation so sheet approval I'm looking at the end of May for a surgery date. I feel your frustration. I guess at least by the time I'm off the weather should be nice and I can enjoy my 4 weeks off of work. Besides this will be a lifetime of change and what's a few weeks delay for the rest of your life. That being said, totally agree. Call Monday morning and if she's still out ask for a supervisor. I'm super shy and if I've learned anything with age, it's that sometimes if you're not a little pushy you just keep getting walked all over.

Dealing with loved ones that don't support your decision...
hmills653 replied to BubbleSam's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm lucky enough to have a supportive husband. My mom is on the fence but just bc she's worried. A girl I went to school with had bypass years ago and developed a blood clot and died. I had a blood clot in my lung 2 years ago from being over weight. It's scary but I know that means blood thinners after I leave the hospital and I definitely will nor forget to walk walk walk after surgery. I look forward to feeling better physically after surgery. I finished my last nutrition class this month. They submitted to insurance. My surgeon is taking the month of April for vacation. So I'm looking at the end of May they said. Also I was told to keep attending the monthly classes bc if insurance decides they want anything additional, you won't have to start over. I bet once your out of surgery safely you dad will feel better. The hard part will be sticking to your food goals while the family had other goals. I was a vegetarian for a few years, so I know that can be hard. My family is mostly overweight as well. Good luck. -

I recently got my bipap machine. I wasn't able to wear cpap bc I felt like I couldn't breathe out against the air. I can say that I have to wait to put the mask on until I'm very relaxed. If I wake up and try to talk to my husband or anything. I feel like my breathing is too fast and need to take it off for a few minutes. Hoping it goes away after I lose weight. I also have a high deductible. I had to pay $220 up front them they said $115 a mos rental fee for 3 mos. Then the insurance will pay off they see I'm using it at least 4hrs a nt. My favorite part is spending the first 5 hrs of my day with a red mark on the bridge of my nose lol -
I was surprised how many people act like I'm doing something wrong. I'm not big on airing my life on Facebook but one of the girls I was good friends with in school posted about how she's lost x pounds with some supplement and she isn't cheating by having surgery. I responded of course with how surgery is not cheating, it's a personal decision made between a person and their physician regarding their health and for some they have no other choice. She must not have liked my response because she deleted the entire post. I have told everyone that I normally talk with family, friends, and Co workers but have met with alot of concern from others. Although it will be nice to not have to deal with high blood pressure, a blood clot in my lung, arthritis is my spine and knees, just to name a few of the things obesity has brought me.

3 days until surgery so excited

I read that when they remove a portion of the stomach there is less areas to produce the hormone that causes hunger which is why the larger your stomach gets the harder it is to lose weight because you are more hungry.
