  1. You look amazing. I just had surgery on Wed but they didn't weigh me in the hospital. I'm still trying to get my fluids in. Still having alot of pain and gas. I was thinking that once I'm feeling better and cleared for increased activity I would join a gym and use some targeted why machines to tighten certain areas asI lose weight such as abd and thighs. Timeline confusion

I had a coordinator that helped. Every month that you have an appt make sure you get a document saying your weight and that they were monitoring your exercise and discussed something diet wise. So like Jan 5th appoint with your doctor should get an appt summary that adores your current weight at that appointment and say something about how you are currently walking 1 mile a day, three days a week and your goal for next mos is to increase how many days a week you are walking. Patients food diary reviewed and we discussed carbohydrates and limiting simple carbs. This should cover all of your required criteria. But then make copies of these from each month so when the office submits your surgery request to three insurance company they can see that you saw someone every month discussed healthy eating, you were exercising, and your weight did go down throughout these appointments. Also one of the first things they had me do wad to get a sleep study unless you already have sleep apnea and currently use CPAP or BIPAP. this can take some time and you need to use your machine after surgery of you do have sleep apnea. Hope that helps. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Nausea.

I feel like sometimes at work pre op when I would eat more quickly I would feel like it would but my stomach hard afterward. Especially when I would order at the cafeteria and have only 10 mins left to eat by the time was back on the unit. Might be worth a try to slow down a little of possible. I just had surgery Wednesday so I haven't gotten to that point yet. Good luck. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Ok had to stop eating plain bread and rolls during pre op. I remember as a child taking a piece of bread and just smelling it like it was heaven. I could eat just rolls on thanksgiving and be happy. I'm on full liquids now but prior to surgery when I would switch to whole grain bread and maybe have 1 slice with breakfast, I always felt less bloated and it seemed the weight came off easier. Mashed potatoes are another one I plan on avoiding for awhile at least. I could live on then and realize that it will be too tempting for me right away. I'm trying to find healthy recipes on Pinterest so I can help my family eat healthier as well. It's hard especially when it hurts to drink and my husband is on the other couch crunching on potato chips that he "bought for his lunch for next week". But I decided to commit to this change and am determined to do my best. Any suggestions for finding good recipes? Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Nausea.

Are you eating more quickly at work? Sometimes in that setting we feel more rushed and may be eating more quickly than at home. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I was sleeved on Wednesday. I'm still having horrible sharp pain in my left shoulder. They said it was from gas. It doesn't seem to be improving. I'm using a hearing pad but doesn't seem to help and I've been walking. I can't lay flat because it seems to feel worse afterward. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Just sleeved!

I was sleeved Wednesday. It hurts so bad to sip. I set an alarm for 5 mins and take a tiny sip every time the annoying thing goes off but I'm getting my 2 oz an hr. I think the timer helps rather than staring at the clock. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Alcohol consumption

You could always toast with something non alcoholic. I'd be afraid to take the chance. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    Post Op

2 days post op. I feel too full to take in fluids. I've gotten 6 oz in so far since 6am and just feel like bursting uncomfortable fullness. I cannot at this moment fathom drinking 64 oz. Did you feel this way a well? The 2 other girls who were sleeved the same day were taking 6-8 oz an hour. They've both been discharged. I should be going home this evening. Can't wait to sleep in my own bed but worried about getting enough fluids right now. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Right with you. Sleeved Wednesday. I habe horrible gas pain in my collar bone. Just started passing gas today. Can barely get 1 oz of fluid in each hour. It hits my stomach like a rock and stabs andI feel full and nauseated. I can't wait to feel better. I should be going home today. Just worried about getting enough fluids in. I can only do water and lemonade everything else has a horrible taste and feels too heavy. I can't sleep at night I'm up like every hour and can't get comfortable. My I V went bad and my while hand and wrist is swelled. I was coughing up blood yesterday they said it was from the intubation. I am so regretting this right now. 3months post op

I am having surgery tomorrow. I bought a food journal and in the front I recorded my weight and measurement of my chest, neck, abdomen, and one thigh. I plan to record measurements once a month. Also, if you have any old pictures to compare that may help you to see the difference. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. I've learned don't weigh every day. Im perimenapausal and my weight fluctuates with 2 periods and mos and my legs retaining water some days. I try not to weigh myself more than twice a week and know that if I gain or don't lose while menstruating that 3 days after I always drop a few lbs quick. But after the pre op my stomach felt flatter and less bloated. As long as you follow the instructions its more aimed at shrinking your liver before surgery. 15. Ask for a sleep study if you currently don't have apnea. My surgeon required you to be tested and this takes time if you need a machine for sleep apnea. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app

I know this will sound selfish

If it's not a money issue with both of you being out of work. I think of you habe someone who can help out a little for a week or so with driving to appt You can go to the store and stock up on groceries and protein shakes etc. It may still be possible. If not maybe push it back a month. My surgeon actually took a month off whenI would've had surgery so I was pushed to May 31. But it'll get there eventually. Good luck and its normal to be upset. You're not selfish. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  22. I'm so sorry. I'm remarried 17 years now. It may seem hard at first (he was a long time cheater and abusive) but I soon realized how freeing it was. You can do this and you deserve to be loved and treated like you are the only one on this planet that matters. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  23. Maybe try to substitute a protein shake for one of your meals and just watch your carbs. Congrats on the baby! Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
