  1. Hmmm. I was told I had to have it with me in the hospital to wear immediately. He said it was not safe between the sleep apnea, anesthesia, and pain meds. However I wondered if that did contribute to some of my gas problems, my belly was always rumbling, IDK. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. for mine weigh in is optional but available if you want. It's very informal, ask any question about your weird bowel habits you want. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I was there maybe 30 mins. She asked how long I've been overweight, how ling I've been trying to lose weight, what all I've tried, why I want wt loss surgery. Have I ever been treated for depression etc. It was pretty simple, nothing to greet over just be honest. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Yeah that seems difficult to get in so early. I was sleeved May 31 and today I got like 32 oz fluid, 1/2 yogurt and a 1/4c of refried beans. Today was one where a third meal would not have agreed with my tummy so I didn't push it. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Do you mind if I ask what you had done? I thought you couldn't use your HSA to pay for ps. I've been thinking about my options, I still have plenty of time but my surgeon told me ill need skin removal on my abdomen beforeI even had surgery and I was thinking about looking into a tummy tuck at the same time. 6. I had surgery May 31. Sleeve and hiatal hernia repair also. The site just above my umbilicus is still sore/ tender. I also have a spot on each side and just below that incision that the muscles feel so sore, I can't bend over and it hurts there when I try to get up from laying or sitting. I still feel that stabbing when I eat and drink. I do feel better than a week ago and two weeks ago, but definitely not normal yet. Yesterday in church just standing to sing a few songs I broke out in a sweat and felt like I was going to pass out and had to sit down. At this point I can't imagine working 12 hr shifts on a busy med surg floor. Before surgery, I was given even the ok to return to work July 13, which is the date of my post op appointment. I figure if in not feeling better by then, I'll ask if I could possibly extend it one more week, I don't know if they would, but its worth a try. But you're not alone in still feeling cruddy. 10 days post op & vomiting

My surgeon gave me liquid Zofran for the nausea and it helped a lot. I took it frequently at first. I was sleeved May 31 even when I started puree, I might only tolerate a few small bites. I had jarred peaches pureed once and that went down easier than trying protein foods. Maybe your surgeon will call in a prescription for a nausea med to help you. 9. liquid Tylenol, stool softener, milk of magnesia, gas -x. A tolerable drink other than water to help you stay hydrated in case water isn't working for you. I fell in love with aldi fit n active mango tropical flavored water beverage. Sometimes it's easier to get down than water and I couldn't tolerate the crystal light. Heating pad, I could only lady on my back bc it felt like my belly was pulling on my sides or sitting up on the couch the first week [emoji58], so that came in handy. If you don't have someone at home with you a reacher may be helpful bc everything I drop stayed on the floor until one of my teens walked by and oh hey can you pick this up for me. 5 days post-op

I'm 3 1/2 weeks and still not making protein goal. The premier protein like you said is way too sweet. I bought the liquid fruit punch with 20 oz protein... super sweet. Too bad there isn't a protein pill or patch. All I eat is aimed toward protein and sometimes I just have to force down half a shake to get more protein. I'm averaging 40 gm a day. Good luck. Not that I want you to feel bad but its assuring to know that I'm not the only one at 3 weeks that's still having issues. Pretty much everything I eat still "stabs me in the stomach" like every 30 seconds for awhile after. Sometimes even after a half hr the water will feel stabbing as well. And every time I eat I get this little loud hiccup (embarrasing). I'm not eating a ton, like a string cheese or 3 oz meat. I wake up nauseated. Mt stomach makes all kinds of word and loud noises also. We've been trying to walk at the parks and I get weak so quickly. We did 1.7 miles today at my slow pace and barely thought I could get through it. I felt bad because my husband wanted to do anther trail and I'm like to exhausted and had to go home. I can say the lower abdomen muscle pain is better this week. But I'm also at a stall but not too worried, just can't wait to feel normal again. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app

  17. I'm only 2 weeks post op, so I don't expect to be back to normal yet. I just feel like these couple weeks habe been so long. My stomach always feels something, achy, gassy, nausea, not right. I'm just curious when did your stomach feel normal again. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    A whole meal...

it's hard. The second week I was crying one time because all I could eat was a few bites of puree and my husband was munching on chips. But I'm sure it won't be the last time I get emotional. I'm only on week 3 now. So still have many emotions. Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app

    TMI**** Women ONLY****

So I started my period just after surgery even though it wasn't due. The nurse told me that this surgery makes almost everyone start their period. Then when I talked to one of the nurses I work with who used to work on the floor with post op bariatric pts and she told me the same thing, her exact words were, "that surgery makes everyone start their period, even the men lol" Sent from my SM-N920T using BariatricPal mobile app
