Day 5 No sipping, regular drinks?!???
hmills653 replied to Bambam626's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm a little further out than you at 7 weeks but returned to work today and had to grab something from the back and realized I hadn't drank anything yet today. I grabbed a 12 oz glass of water and guzzled almost the whole cup. Amazed myself bc I'm thinking if I can do this a few times a day there's hope of reaching my fluid goal. But pouch def not stretched, full off half a chicken breast. -
When to start cardio in the gym
hmills653 replied to dennisdj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Is this all i will lose?
hmills653 replied to dgarcia27's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost the first 3 weeks then stalled for 3 weeks then started losing again this part week. -
So, we went to dinner for my hubby's birthday last night. I ordered a lemonade bc I was dying for a drink south some flavor instead of always water. Not thinking, I drank it quite quickly and easily through the straw. Didn't even phase me until today that I used a straw. I was told its a no no bc it will make you swallow too much air and cause you discomfort. Honestly it seemed to go down easier and may even make it easier to reach my fluid goal. Are there other reasons I can't use a straw? Does anyone else use a straw?

When does hunger return?
hmills653 replied to chamilton0323's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 7 weeks and have hunger at meal times -
After post op how long did you wait to return to work?
hmills653 replied to Ready2enjoylife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved May 31. I'm going back next Monday. I would've gone back after 6 weeks but I had a vacation already scheduled for this week so it turned into 7 weeks off. I could've gone back sooner if they would allow me to do light duty, but they don't. Oh well, I feel good now to return. -
I just bought the bariatric advantage chews in strawberry watermelon, they're pretty good and the chews are soft and go down easy.

hmills653 replied to shellyv0120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. The sweet stuff made me sick. It's better now 7 wks out though. Recently I get this weird metallic taste on the sides of my tongue. Not sure what that's about though. If anyone knows let me know. -

Choosing between Sleeve and Bypass help!
hmills653 replied to Barbara1972's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
it'll probably be awhile before you will be taking in 1200 calories. I'm 6 weeks post sleeve and average about 500 calories a day. My doctor said as I start getting more hungry be sure I don't go over 1000 calories at this point. In case this helps any. -

hmills653 replied to LuhMa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay! Congrats. I was super nervous to the closer it got. Just remember you'll feel better with each week that passes. -
May 15th, 2017 Sleevers Check in Here!!!
hmills653 replied to Newme17's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
once a week for 5 weeks. I just have to rest it the day of the injection and then I can resume normal activity the next day. They are a gel that helps to cushion the knee and it should last a few years but I'm hoping between this and weight loss my knee will be good. -
Ok. Thanks. I just get to full not to supplement with shakes but for some reason they seem to think I should be eating more. All I eat is protein and without supplementing I'd probably habe to eat constantly all day to get enough right now lol.

hmills653 replied to Newme17's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went for my 6 week post op appt yesterday and including the weight I lost on my pre op diet program...I am down 51 lbs. I'm so happy. I got the ok to start going to the gym and start strength training. I got a membership yesterday and got a gel injection in my bad knee today. So I have to rest it and ice it today. But I'm so excited to start this next phase. I'll get 5 weekly gel injections in my knee and I'll be like a youngin again. Can't wait to get to gym and start toning. -
On the verge of dehydration!
hmills653 replied to Kayla Monee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I love the bananas and cream pre-op but after surgery it was way too sweet for me. I used what I had by mixing with frozen strawberries or frozen bananas and pb2. I had one scoop of Jay Robb chocolate powder left and had that it was fine. I'll think I'll try the chocolate for awhile. If you live near a Sam's club they have them there cheapest I've found you get 12 for $14. -
Booked with Dra Cardenas today!

Congrats. What is a royal lift? -
I'm still early in the game. However my arms don't seem too bad, I think some toning will sufficient for them but only time will tell. If I do have ps I'd like tummy tuck, bbl if I lose what God gave me after this, and I already have breasts that nursed 5 babies, so wouldn't mind lifting them. I am noticing though that my thighs are quite big. I guess I would say in this order for me... tummy, thighs, but, boobs, arms, work my way up lol
-
Mine has me to go up to 1000 calories at 6 weeks. Then work my way up to 1500 and stay there.
-
Congratulations!!!

Losing Weight on PreOp Diet
hmills653 replied to Old2NewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One of the girls that goes to my support meetings actually stated the diet early. She had a scare when they thought she had a tumor but it was just that her liver was so enlarged. She decided to start the 2week Pre op diet early giving herself a month. That could be any option of you're worried. -
I HAVE GIVEN UP ON DRINKING WATER!!
hmills653 replied to dreamingsmall's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I felt the same way. It will go away. I found flavored water drinks hurt less than actual water. I found one at Aldi fit n active tropical mango flavored water. It was good, not too sweet and went down more easily. Water just stabbed me in the stomach. Now I'm 6wks and have no problem drinking, just gotta hang in there. But I totally feel for you.
