  1. I had my band removed and gastric bypass all in one surgery. It was no problem at all. Best decision I've ever made. I did have quite a bit of soreness where the port was removed from the muscle but pain meds helped that. I was thankful I didn't have to have another surgery. Best of Luck! You Got This!!!
  2. I know I can't expect everyone around the office to not eat anything I can't have but it's so hard! I'm 4 weeks post op gastric bypass so I'm on soft foods. I've been back to work a week and have had several crying sessions because I feel sorry for myself because I can't have that food. I'm learning a new way of thinking about food but my question is: Does anyone have a tips to surviving life in an office post op?
  3. For the first week and half I would cry when I saw others eating. It's a little easier 2 weeks out but I definitely get head hungry still. I think that's part of my "addiction" to food.

    Always cold after surgery?

I haven't related it to eating but I'm definitely a lot more cold now. Especially my hands.

    Time Off Work

I'm taking 3 weeks. If I had to go back I could have but it's nice to be off to adjust to the new meal plan.

    Dumping

Ok@berry78 I was wondering if I should do liquids. I stopped throwing up but tried some ice and my stomach started to churn.

    Dumping

Since my pouch is so small I'm surprised I threw up 3 times. I feel like I could keep throwing up but it's awful and so painful on the stomach.
  8. I am 12 days post op gastric bypass. I had an egg for breakfast and 2 oz flaky tapalia for lunch. Then a few hours ago I ate 5 oyster crackers. I'm still on puréed foods so I know it was wrong. I threw up about a hour ago and my stomach is still having spasms and hurts pretty bad. I assume it's dumping? Is there anything that can help? Thank You!
  9. I'm 12 days out. Day 6 I took some Milk of Magnesia and had a movement few hours later. And the heating pad helped with discomfort. I'm still gassy but it's better than right after surgery.
  10. I tried Milk of Magnesia and felt great after my first bowel movement. Monday. But today (Wed) the gas pains are coming back. I've also thought many times about chewing a cracker and spitting it out. This is way harder than I ever imagined! But I'm trying to remind myself this phase won't last forever and if we've gone thru the surgery we can do this!!!!
  11. Someone On here mentioned Milk of Magnesia. I took some and walked the steps, i had a bowel movement the next morning and I felt so much better!!!
  12. Ok thanks Martha! I was hoping this is normal. I feel more at ease.
  13. Tomorrow I will be 4 days post op. I have severe gas pains. I have started passing gas some but the pains in between are terrible. I haven't had a bowel movement in 4 days and feel generally weak and crappy. Please tell me if this is normal. Thanks!

  15. I'm having my band removed and gastric bypass done Feb 10th. How long was everyone off work? Most things I see say 2 weeks but some people are saying 6 weeks minimum. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
