How You know you need an adjustment...
mstrina27 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I received my Nutrition guidelines... and it states that the normal time u should be adjusted is about 5-8 weeks after the sugery. I quote it says the following reasons may be an indication that you need a band adjustment. 1. You feel like you are making healthy food choices in appropriate portion sizes but are getting hungry between meals. 2. You can still eat white bread, fibrous vegetables, and large portion Greater than 2-cups 3. You have to struggle to lose weight. 4. You are gaining weight in spite of making healthy food choices, exercising, and being positive. -
How do you know if your pouch is stretched?

I don't think you stretched it at all. -

Hi I'm new here and very frustrated,
mstrina27 replied to marieveeee's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You know what i'm not sure if you have a hmo or ppo but if u have a ppo find another Dr. now!! That is insane there is no way they can do that to you, or should i say they shouldnt do that to you..you have come to far to pick the weight back up.. They really need to be more aggressive with the fills at this point you know what a restriction feels like!! -

I am not a milk drinker either, but i use 1% milk it's just like water... use lots of ice and blend it really good... and wait about 5-min until things settle then get a straw and drink it fast... that helped me because i dont like the after taste from milk

When is it enough restriction?

Yes babe you are too tight I found out the hard way, if u can't keep liquids down get some of the fill out.. -
Are you working out?
-
-
you still have a ways to go. once u get to your sweet spot 12 of an egg will fill u up lol

Is my band too tight?
mstrina27 replied to amberd910's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
once you get to that sweet spot or to the point where you have a proper restriction you won't be able to east some of the same things u use too. drinking a shake for breakfast or eating nothing for breakfast worked for me because I am tighter in the morning's also try to chew more and take smaller bites and ssee if that helps -
I think I am failing at this!!!!
mstrina27 replied to flagirlintx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you know we have all been there and I was banded may of 08 and I just serious with my working in january and I want to smack myself sometimes because I should have been at my goal months ago. but pick yourself up and just get moving u can doo it! -
Well I will say that once i got up to 7cc's i started working out 5-days a wwk at least 30-min a day... if you are not working out do something.. once i started working out the weight started coming off like crazy... but if you are still hungry and eating more than normal i cant see why you cant get a fill... but i have 9 in a 10cc band and im doing great..
-
I have never heard of this before...If they are not giving you fills as you need them i would see another Dr. and go from there....

When is it enough restriction?
mstrina27 replied to blackcherry2002's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would think because you have 7cc's now he should only add about .5cc's because if he adds a full cc you wont be able to keep any food down at all.. but if you try it then that should start you back at loosing weight. I Will be honest with you. I should be about 9cc's and the last time i got a fill was in march or either early april lol.. but he only put 1/2cc and i could only eat 1/4 cup of food poss. 2x's a day if that much i wasent hungry at all but thats not a good thing... i have loosened up since and feel great but if he fills you and you are too full let him know.... -
Anyone that has banded have any regrets about it?
mstrina27 replied to bigguynAZ's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish i had done it a few years ago. I am so much happier with myself, however be prepared for people that will feel threatened by you loosing weight.. it is sad that people cant stand to see people get healthy..but excellent choice and i wish you all the best... -
Honestly it has taken about 7mths. It was coming off really slow at first but when i started working out 30-min a day 5 days a week it really started melting off
-
Well now I was banded last May 15th and I still get them exp. after i drink something.. dont ask why but i do and they piss me off... heck i am going to try the sugar thing it cant hurt...

No weight loss in 2 1/2 months!!!
mstrina27 replied to karebare714's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was just going to say that it sounds like you neek a fill. I wish i could eat 1/2 of anything lol nope not going too happen... lol anyhoo this is the time that you would go in to get a fill is when your weight loss stalls... just like mine was i was stuck for like 3-weeks and i made an apt. got a fill and i have lost over 11 lbs in 2 weeks.. but another thing i have been walking or doing the stair master, or elliptical on my lunch break for the past 4mths and when i say that the weight will melt off like the other post says it WILL TRUST ME.... -
I'm eating like a pig.....
mstrina27 replied to Bmaz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you don't watch it you will have 'the last meal syndrome' until the day of your banding... You will still have to rely on your will power once you are banded for at least the first few months until some sort of restriction kicks in... -
