  1. and I can't lie that shyt hurt...lol... Of course I had to lay down a pillow was under my back, and he had me to lift my head a little while he felt for the port.. no problem finding it at all... I asked how much did the band have in it when the band was put in and he withdrew the fluid and said that it was 3cc's in it when i was banded.. That's cool. He put 2-more cc's in it so i have a total of 5cc's in my band.. as he was putting the fill in the needle was still in the port and he had me to sit up and drink water while he was filling it... I looked at him like dude are u crazy... I will punch u n the face...lol.. this shit hurts....lol.. No problem with drinking water at all, and I still don't have a problem drinking anything.. I would like to know from people that have been banded and have a 10cc band how much of a fill did it take for u to get to a good point where u were loosing weight and controling your hunger?

    unsuccessful lapband results

No problem... I got a fill today and I must say that I thank God that I haven't had the throwing up, sick feeling, or any of the other adverse effects... I am so grateful for that... Even tho the scale has not moved since a week after being banded I can definately see the inches coming off, as well as my face, and arms and such going down.... This is a great thing.... ahhhh success at last...:rolleyes2::Banane17:
  4. U know i got a fill today and he put 2cc's n which made a total of 5cc's I have maintained my weight loss from when i weighed myself the week after i was banded.. See my body is like this here it's like listen chick i know u, u will workout for a few weeks and then stop.. so im not sure if u are going to keep it up or not so i will get lazy and wont show u any results until i think u have worked hard enough...lol... then about a month after i start working out i will see the weight loss.. so nothing to worry about.. it happens... it will come off..just like u said better off than on.. better down than up..

My theory is if u put saline in a plastic bottle and just leave it sitting on a shelf for 1 to 2 years thru heat, cold, and everything else.. not leakage.. some of the Fluid will evaporate... I have found this out thru people that's been banded for years.... so nothing is impossiable but when u get your next fill just ask your Dr. to see how much of a fill u have and that will solve that.. lol Check this link out also.. which will support what I said... :-) http://www.core.monash.org/patient-care.pdf

    1st day at home

    Jeff how r u feeling?
  7. Hi Salam.... Please don't get down about the slow process... what happens is that once u are banded of course we all have to go thru that liquid phase.. which just shrinks your liver... and gives temporary weightloss... because as soon as u start eating regular foods either the weight comes back or it slows down. May I ask what r u eating on a daily basis, are u working out yet, if so what are u doing during your workouts, and if not why? and how much Water are u drinking?

    weight loss

You know that sounds about right.. The portions should be much smaller and u should be eating more often.. like every 3-4 hours.. if u eat a slice of cheese and a piece of lunch meat or something for a snack that if fab... and then a few hours later eat your lunch or dinner what ever is next.. that is the way it should be.. That's the way your body keeps your metabolism raised and burning fat..... so dont ignore the hunger pains...

    1st day at home

U know i was given liquid lortab and i felt as sick as a dog... Trust me when i say u have to force yourself to drink your liquids or u will get dehydrated... I felt the same way. I didn't eat or drink anything for 4-days and my eyes were sunken in and I could tell i was dehydrated... u have to drink....

    Diet Soda, Post-Lap Band

Dr's knows best however I would do extensive research about erosion of the band and see how that is caused...

    My mum has shocked me!

WOW... see that's why people keep their procedures to themselves becasue they don't want people to wait for them to fail.. That is ashame that people are so critical of others like that... the bottom line is that the lady had to work her azz of at loosing the weight.. If u get a fill and never workout u will loose weight but sooner or later it will stop.. U have to add to what u have to get the results that u want.. and that's what people do that have the band... How sad...But u were right not to tell her at this point because she was so critical of the person on tv.. only heavens knows what and how she will feel about u... u have to ween her in on it...

    unsuccessful lapband results

lol... Thanks.. it is truly hard and i have a 3-year old son that wants this and that.. and wants mommy to taste everything... but I am in control and I just have to say no... and I am doing rather well at that now... Plz keep me updated on how your apt and everything goes... I would also ask the dr. to see how much u have in your band before u get a fill also... and that will let u know if some of the fluid evaporated....

What happens when the band is full?

I do believe after a long period of time the fluid does evaporate, and I have also read that some bands may hold more than it actually say they should hold.. but I have my first apt. on this thursday and I am going to ask..

    unsuccessful lapband results

i wish that is since I started the process.... in October of 07... Now the real test is starting now... I will have a Dr's apt. on thursday so when i weigh in that scale better go down or i will be fighting myself...lol...
  19. U know this was one of the pains in my side... I was so use to drinking while eating.. and I have a 3-yr old soon to be 4 June 25th:thumbup:I would always tell him Todd stop drinking while u are eating, because this gives u a false since of being full... Of course I was still doing it and he asked me mommy why are u drinking and I can't... This could have been one of the moments where the parent says well because I said so.....Or hey baby u are right...... and that's what I said.. I shouldn't drink while I am eating and since I have stopped he has started eating all of his food and he will drink later.. he is not focused on drinking at all.. which makes me so happy because he was a really pickey eater .. which made me feel in many ways like i wasent doing something right.. but now I know I wasent.. I was contradicting myself and that was confusing to him... to make my long azz story shorter... I drink about 30-60- minutes after i have eaten...

    Diet Soda, Post-Lap Band

WOW... I was told that u should stay away from any type of carbonated drinks.... bottom line.. the carbonation will expand your pouch.. u will defeat the purpose.. u can drink it once it turns flat, but not with the full fizz affect...lol... This is one of those things that I have given up and really don't miss at all... I guess I had to give up something.... I haven't had a diet, or regular soda in over 2-mths.... talking about rehab....

    Fiber & Bowel Movements...

It was like Carrie C' said I read not to eat fruits that were hard to chew and to digest.. like the peel's on the apple, or broccoli and stuff..I took it the wrong way and just figured that i should avoid fiber, but I know now that I was oh so wrong...
  22. mstrina27

    I shouldn't have told people.....

Wow... I posted a thread about this a month or so ago... no matter how u put it people are still going to talk, and watch u... In my mind if i were to tell the loosers where i work not to offer me doughnuts they are going to do it anyway... people bought doughnuts 2x's last week and i looked, sniffed and walkd away...lol... let them do what they do it's just going to make u stronger.. don't put any more focus on yourself act as if it dosen't bother u one bit.. NEVER LET THEM SEE U SWEAT.....

    Bannerversary !!

Wow this is great.... U have come a long way...How many fills have u had thus far?
  24. Hey Nancy.. we were banded on the same day and heyyy i will get my fill the same day also... Mine came with a fill so I can honestly say I am not nearly eating as much as i use to eat, and even when i want to over eat I can't... I know i need this but when something is reallllllyyyy good your brain just says keep on eating keep on eating.. but now my stomach is like dumb ass if u keep eating your are going to be in pain...lol.. so i stop before i get to that poing... but it is a day to day struggle... let me know how your fill goes on thursday...
