  1. well actually we shouldn't eat until we are full u should eat until u are not hungry any longer. and most of the times after we eat 1/4 of a meal we are or shouldn't be HUNGRY any longer... Now eating until u are full is something else.... That means normally cleaning your plate... and that is what causes weight gain. Another thing is when u eat until u are no longer hungry means eating smaller meals more often.... which will result in weight loss.... Just eat when u are hungry.. and chew your food really good... Don't eat until u are full and u will be ok...

    you know what the best thing about it is that u have so much of your life ahead of you and u are taking prevenative measures to prevent what may come if u continue to ignore the weight issue... When u talk to your Dr. don't ask him/her if u should have it let them know that you have done the research and u know that will be the best option for you. It's safe and this way he/she wont have to prescribe anti-hunger pills for you to reduce your hunger, and or high blood preasure pills, etc... and then ask them if they have your best interest at heart they will see it your way... I hope everything goes great for u...

    I agree... U are doing the damn thing.. and I have seen your before and after pictures and I had to show one of my friends in atl before i got banded... U are one of the ones that gave me the inspiration to do it because of your hard work. Everyone thinks get banded and that's it... Not!!!! babe it's just the beginning.... U get out what u put in.... And might i say again U look Hott and I don't use that lightly either....lol....:ohmy:

    I know how u feel... and i can relate to the just being wanted part.... Oh my goodness I want to see that in 1 persons eyes so freekin bad... I can taste it.. Now that is only part of my motivation...lol.. When i get frustrated like i am now because i know i am constipated... instead of eating or grazing like a cow i just work out like a mad woman... and sweat like someone just threw a bucket of water on my face... then while i am going and going and going i will say now this is for every freekin fat gram that stuck to my azz... and this is for everyone that gave me crap when i told them i was trying to eat better...lol... and it actually makes me feel better...I know u are going to get out of this funk... keep on doing what u are doing.. and even tho u dont see the scale moving keep going it will move..

That really does burn me up also.... Face your own issues... and get your azz up and do the freekin work... I dispise the threads that say i just cheated and i feel so bad.... threads...lol are u kidding.. did u not post that to validate your falling off of the wagon... like hey if i get 2-3 people that say don't feel bad then prehaps i can go eat a 1/2 gallon of ice cream and those same people will say hey dont beat yourself up... its ok.... uhhhhh lets get it together people.....:ohmy:

    Baby Food Sucks!

    awww hell naw...lol.. I will drink straight.. gas filled slim fast before i will eat baby food... plz dont make me gag... when my mom was alive when my son was going to the first stage of baby food she would tell me to put some on my lip to see if it was too hot for him and i would gag if i made a mistake and swollowed some of that crap... OMGOODNESS I don't see how i ate that crap when i was a baby.. i felt like going to add some addt. seasoning in it... lol... uhhh no..

    Yes, yes, yes.... that is one thing i can say is that as i drop the weight the more confident i become..... I was not always as confident as i am right now, because i was a child that was always bigger than my cousins, like one of my cousins could have been 40-lbs and i was 50lbs not much of a diffrence but 10lbs when u are a kid growing up will put u in the next size clothing... and it was bad... I was always told u are so pretty but only if u could loose some weight... the hell with that.. I am a show stopper bottom line... And i command attention where ever i go. I think i am one of the only fat girls that took it and ran with it.. I would say hell if i'm going to be fat i might as well be the prettiest fat girl in the world...and the confidence i had on the inside showed on the outside and the finest guys would approach me because they said they liked my confidence. One last thing.. the way u feel about yourself on the inside will reflect on the outside and people can and will pick up on it. You don't have to be overweight to have self esteem issues.. your ears can be bigger than others, you can be shorter than everyone else around u, or you could be darker, or lighter than most people in your circle. Your clothes may not be of the same brand as the people that u want to hang around that will cause u to have self esteem issues... being fatter is just one of the smaller issues that causes people to have poor self esteem.....:ohmy:
  10. i would call or either go to the e.r. when did u take your first shower, and or have u taken a bath at all yet? If you have taken a bath this could have caused the infection if there is one, or if u took a shower to soon. I was told i had to wait at least 3-4 freekin days and that was prob. one of the reasons i felt so bad... but that still didn't keep me from washing and wiping down.... the soaps could have infected your wound.... plz. get immediate attention so u can find out what exactly what is going on..
  11. You know what.. When u have been loosing weight on a regular basis exp. before banding.. you have to go to extreme measures to kick the weight loss back up. Trust me when i say that while i am giving advise i am taking my own as well... If your body is use to eating 800-1000 calories you have to add more calories just 200-300 more per day for at least 5-days and then drop it back down to the 800-1000 and continue this for about a month and the weight will start to come off almost immediately. Also if you are like myself and u need psyllium husk fiber to keep u regular and I have realized that I can't take all fiber supplements i have to take a certain brand that works well with my system... I just picked up some more today so i will be able to tell a-lot more in the morning...lol.. but if you are working out and u normally do 30-minutes do 45--and if u are doing 45-do 60.. if u are already at 60-minutes... try another excercise like stair climbing or just plain old walking... or lifting weights from 5-10lbs.. this should start the process up again....

    1 week Post Op

    Oh yeah 7 days is a nice amount of time to be off.. I was banded on a thursday and went back to work that monday.. but if i would have stayed off for at least a week i would have bee about 100% compared to how i felt day 1-4..
  14. see i have been taking metamucil for the past week and 1/2 at least and it was worse, but it got better but now it's not like it should be... I think i may need to drink more plain ol h20...thanks.. for the reply's
  15. I have been feeling really bloated, and full and i really havent eaten anything. When i get up from sitting down my stomach feels really tight like if i stretch or something it will hurt. It's not my port or anything it is in the front of my stomach.. It kinda feels like i need to have a bowel movement because of the bloating, but could it be gas or something... and is there anything more powerful than gas x because that is not doing the trick if that is the case... I pop those gas-x chewables like skittles and i still don't get rid of enough gas... Can someone help me out with this plz...
  16. You know Julia you need to really sit and evaluate why u are a compulsive eater... What are the triggers that causes u to go to food... I had the same problem, but my only thing was I was always hungry... I said If i wasent always hungry i could loose the weight with no problem which I am doing now... When i would get angry.. or someone would piss me off the first thing i would do was to run to food because that would or at least i thought it would make me feel better... but it wasent it was actually hurting me by putting more fat around my heart, and causing me to die a slow death.... When i realized that i was turning to food for all kind of up's and down's in my life.. I made the effort to stop it..... When u know better u can do better... Food is fuel and that's it. It wasen't created to be our best friend, our lover, and a confidant. It is just fuel... Like i said in another post... gas for our cars is just that... when i get sad or pissed off how would i look carrying around a gas can with fuel in it like it was my buddy.... think about it... use food for what it was ment for and the other.. let your feelings out... if others can't take it then they need the help.. not u....
  17. Favoredone what kind of questions might u have about the band... Trust me when i say I have been researching for about 7-years on the bypass and band.. and I finally went with the band becasue of the low risk and the reversable options..

  18. Hey Latricee Yes I lost about 51-lbs prior to being banded. I don't eat pork or beef.. Havent done that in about 10-years or so.. I worked out on my elliptical trainer for like 30-45minutes 3-days a week, and drank hella water and or whylers lite...

    Well I think u really have to love yourself first in order to be able to make any kind of change. No matter what it may be. I love me, and I know I am a :shades_smile:SHOW STOPPER....:smile:...LOL I want to be able to wear all of the pretty clothes, and not have to pull, tug, and get tired so soon.... Some thinner ladies say now girl if i had your hips I would be a hott mess... ok.. u can have them if u want... :biggrin:.. I am what some call 'thick'... but i call it fat.... not kidding.. but i don't have self esteem issues... I can be anywhere and have fun no matter what.. A-lot of times I notice that some guys do ignore women like myself because they think we are stuck up, it's not that.. just confident in myself...I am not the fat pretty girl that will allow u to run over her, use her, ruin her credit type of chick... I don't think u have to be fat to have poor SELF-Esteem issues u have to be person that is not happy within to have SELF-Esteem issues... get it SELF-it has to do with-in yourself that comes in fat people as well as thin....... Stop carring about what others say and think the bottom line is if u wear a hot pink top some will like it and some wont... who cares did they buy it for u? once we all get this in our heads we will be better off.... :tt2:

  22. When i was my heaviest I just started walking everyday... I went walking at the park district and I went around the track for like 8-12x and i did this 5-days a week and the weight came off from every part of my body... so i would suggest walking... at a brisk rate... U know the pace where u can still hold a conversation but u are still ok... not crusing....

  24. Exactly.... I use to take fiber pills daily before i was banded to help with my eliminations.... It helps in keeping u regular... I took milk of magnesia and it worked but does cause loose stool and it makes your butt hurt after the fact.. really unconfortable...lol... I would suggest taking fiber pills before u go to bed and trust me u will feel 10lbs lighter by the next morning...lol....u can get them from any drug store, or Vitamin shop also... the reg. fiber pills work better than the chewables to me....

    OMG...Yes this happened to me and i could hardly sleep some days... I'm talking about I could see myself being in shape and fit, and being so happy..... These dreams were so real....
