I was thinking the same thing... I have 8cc's in a 10cc band and i thought i was too tight, but as i continue on reading i c that is what restriction really is... Wow.. who would have known.. How do u know when u are too tight?
-
U know I was feeling the same exact way. I was able to eat pretty much anything i wanted and finish all of my food, and that is a sign that u need a fill. I did go in to get a fill this past thursday and I can truly say that I feel totally diffrent. I have 7.5cc's in my 10cc band. I know my dr. told me to drink liquids the first day, the next day soft foods, then reg. foods.. I can truly say that I was getting frustrated and thought i had made a mistake but i am thinking totally diffrent now. Excercise is a huge part, but one thing i know is excercise had nothing to do with my eating less and still being hungry the band had everything to do with that. Now if u don't do anything but walk for 30-minutes a day do that any form of excercise will work. Just like one of the other post said if i dont move i wont loose, but the main goal for me was to see if the band was going to work for me and now that i believe I have reached that sweet spot I know the scale is going to drop it like its hotttt lol.. Just hold on and see yr dr. on a reg. basis and be honest with him/her and they will adjust u as needed...

You know one thing that worked for me was a back massager. I put that bad boy on high and laid on it... that does move the gas pains up and out.. u will start to belch and feel a lot better..let me know if it works.. -

mstrina27 replied to Missprdiva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
lol.. u know i went thru the same thing.. trust me it does get better.. I have thought about it all... going to the gym more often, just eating less but the band really makes a diffrence once u get the right fill everything will look so diffrent.. just take one day at a time... -
Help! I need some encouragement...
mstrina27 replied to gonnaloseitall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations on a new u... The first few days for me were pure HELL.... It does get better just make sure u keep hydrated even if u have to sip on chicken broth or drink some ice tea w/splenda in it or something u need something in your system to keep u alert. It does get better move around and sit up as much as u can.. Also taking regular extended sgth. tylenol works also... -
Question: Is it still hard after band??
mstrina27 replied to photofire's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh hell yes.. to me it is just as hard until u get to the proper fill. Once u get there seems seem so freekin brand new. I am going to keep sayin it.. lol.. I am at 7.5cc's and I am truly amazed i am not hungry and it only takes a few fork fulls to fill me up.. OMG... I have never experienced nothing like this. Up until now I thought i had made a mistake that's why i had not visited the board in a while, but i will be the first to tell u it does work... I can't wait until Monday so i can weigh myself. Once u decide to make the change don't let anyone turn u against it. It is truly diffrent from having the will power to do it on your own because if u are always hungry it is impossiabale to loose weight... U can do it.. -
help i'm putting all my weight back on
mstrina27 replied to howells's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok i'm a little confused. U were banded in 2006 and u have only had 2 fills? Now if u have only had 2 fills how much does your band hold? also you need to go and have yourself checked out. I know we all think we know how to chew but it definately takes pratice at chewing your food more than 2-3x's then swollowing... What kind of reg. foods have u tried to eat that wont go down? -
did i make a mistake
mstrina27 replied to tomblin9951@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
U know I was banded on 5-15-08 and thursday i got my 4th fill. I have 7.5cc's or either 8. lol Whatever the case is, is that i really think I am at the 'sweet spot'. It will take time to get there. It is more mental than anything. I would get pissed off because i couldnt eat something or should i say i wanted to eat something that i know i had no business eating.. i felt bad mentally... it is truly a journey and it is not a quick one that is for sure.. Just don't get frustrated u will have good days and not so good days.. Just know that slow and steady wins the race... -
2nd fill and now no restrictions
mstrina27 replied to idadi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I had my 4th fill on Thursday and I am @ 7.5cc's and I can definately feel and tell the diffrence. before when i ate i could eat just about all if not all of my food. Now don't get me wrong my portions have been cut down but I know i didn't have the restriction I wanted.. After thursday... baby This is all good... If this is the sweet spot i am LOVIN IT..... See i have come to realize that when u have the proper restriction u eat a few bites and you are done.. thats why they say eat something every few hours to make sure u get in enough.. but when you can finish all of your food the proper restriction isn't there yet.. U will prob. get to that sweet spot in a few more months.. Keep up the great work it is definately a work in progress... -
Wassa I have a question for u.. How long do u have to have the band to know that it dosent work for you? The last time i got a fill i couldn't eat eggs everything got stuck and it is a truly bad feeling. When i was thinking about doing this no one said all of that stuff. Should I talk to my Dr. or do u think i should talk to another Dr. to see if they could take the band out and to do the sleeve honestly I don't want to have to go thru the fills and I haven't lost as much as i feel i should have thus far with the band. Now prehaps I am saying this a little premature cause i was banded in may and it is now late oct. and i havent lost 30-lbs since sugery. I don't want to loose it by starving becasue everything gets stuck... can u help me plz..

Ok This 2 shake and 1-meal a day crap is really hard...
mstrina27 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't get me wrong I am a go getter... and I am up for the challange. But this shi* is hard as hell... It's not that bad when i'm not at work, but as everyone know's i sit next to a compulsive over eater. And the bad part is, is that my schedule changed so i sit next to someone else that eat's like a cow grazing in the pasture.... This chick knows that I am getting the lap band and she bought this big dumb azz bag of chips to work yesterday i'm talking about the biggest bag of chips i have ever seen it looked like the size of a pillow...lol.. not kidding half of her arm disapeared when she put it inside of the bag....lol.. and im like are u kidding me....I did remember that I can drink the chicken broth and stuff... as well.. so i did that, and let me tell u that broth was like eating sunday dinner...lol.. then she pulls a pack of raman noodles out of her drawer like do u want these...:tt2: r u kidding... NO I DON'T i'm fine i will sip my broth and i will be ok... I can only eat 1 real meal so i would rather wait until i get home to do that.. and then the managers had the nerve to walk around passing out candy bars saying mamagement wants u all to know that we appreciate u all... here u go. a TWIX...:Banane44::Banane44: R U SERIOUS... get this crap off of my desk.... what is a person to do... I feel like i want to walk with dark ass shades on :frown: so i wont be tempted to eat that kind of crap.. exp. when i have my band put on 1-week from today... I know I can do it, but it is harder than i imagined exp. when people try to knock u off your square... also she had the nerve to say well I love me the way I am, and if the weight comes off then it comes off and if it dosen't oh well... and I'm like i have been there and u are not happy because if u were u wouldnt have said that. But everything is not for everyone. -
B-12 shots anyone?
mstrina27 replied to Losing_It_In_Texas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
u know i went to the vitamin shoppe and i got the liquid form of b-12 and it says that it does support energy production. It does work and it also helps to boost your metabolosim to assist in fat loss google is my best friend when it comes to researching things... how it was put to me is when u have more energy u move around more, and when u move around more u will burn more calories which will result in weight loss... see how they connect... but it works for me.. -
You need to talk to your mom to let her know how u feel... The band is only a tool and u can still make the same bad food choices with it.... U really have to face your cryptiniote... The things that u fear the most become your giant, and even tho they seem so small they are yet so big... Congrats on the choice to live your life for u...

Is this bandster hell? Please tell me this will end and I will start losing again!!!
mstrina27 replied to SkinnyKathy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
U ain't seen bandster hell yet....lol.. trust me... but it takes time to get a proper restriction. What u have to understand is that when u went on your pre-op diet if u had one u had to cut your food intake a lot..and u went thru the phase of liquids only and then soft so that would cause a immediate weight loss...solid food has more weight than liquids so u may have lost but u wont see it yet becuse your system will have to get back to a regular state. for example when u eat just say some mac and cheese and about a hour later drink a 26-24oz of a low sugar bev. that is going to naturally make u seem heavier, but once it comes out u r ok..u know what im sayn..lol.. -
Drinking before, after and during?
mstrina27 replied to todoornottodo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Exactly.. when u dont drink about an hour after u eat it helps to keep u fuller longer... and what i have found out is when i try to drink something right after i have eaten it hurts going down... and that is not a good feeling.. but one thing i can say is that it is really hard not to drink while u eat but pratice makes perfect... -
Depressed Newbie
mstrina27 replied to Debra McDermott's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
U r not doing anything wrong.. i have felt the same way many times...It could be Water weight, it could be a number of things.. that time of the month... any thing..don't think u actually gained 3-lbs of fat!! that would mean that u would have to consume over 9,600 calories and I know that hasen't happened... take one day at a time i'm sure u are doing ok.. -
Exactly what the other post said... Why this happens.. i am not exactly sure.... for me when i eat something and it get sort of stuck going down then i will feel that coming on but i try to shake it off because i hate throwing up.... try to take note of when it happens after certin things u eat cause whatever may cause it prob. wont be something u can continue to eat....

Do you still enjoy eating?
mstrina27 replied to Sooverit!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
great thread..... U know i really don't enjoy eating anymore because most of the times things get stuck no matter how slow i eat or if i chew chew chew.... eggs get stuck... i said that i should prob. have some of my fill removed but i will tuff it out i wont get a fill this month i will just go back in October, but no i don't enjoy eating anymore... it is so hare to reprogram yourself from the clean your plate days..... but i know i can do it... -
Now before I was banded I would take fiber pills every day or over other day, and my bowel movements were like clock work.. Now since I was banded i stopped taking them because i read somewhere that said that u should not eat foods high in fiber or something.. so i kinda figured that the fiber pills would get stuck.. but I know my stomach is bloated due to me not having the proper eliminations... Now last night i went to the drug store and bought some metamucil fiber pills and i took them last night before I went to bed and i must say I have had about 4 bowel movements already and I have only been up for 2 1/2 hours... I feel so much better... One thing I will say is that u have to tweek somethings, everything is not for everyone... but what i do know is FIBER IS FOR ME:thumbup::incazzato:....LOL... does anyone else take fiber?
-
i found out the hard way that u truly have to take small bites of food chew it until it desolves in your mouth....I had scrambled eggs to get stuck so u really have to take it slow... hell i should have drank liquids for about 3-4 days after but i started on the soft foods on th 2nd day.. but u live and u learn... u will be ok.. take it slow...i have 6.5cc's in a 10'cc band also...
-

well i am so glad u posted this thread... I have a few pill that can't be crushed and i feel like my chest is going to burst open every time i take them. I literally have to take 3 2x a day and i have to take them like 10-min apart.. i was just thinking about how i could get around it.. and there is no way.. i have 6.5 cc's in my band and i have more of a restriction in the morning and it seems like as the day goes on it loosens up but damn does it hurt...

What has weight kept you from doing?
mstrina27 replied to Blessed1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
U know being over weight has stopped me from being who i am in the inside. I have always felt that I was so much thinner than i actually am. I have always wanted to jogg, go to the beach, wear a 2 piece swim suit.. wear the tummy tops that show your stomach.. I want a belly ring and a stomach chain.... and I am going to get it... -
