hi , im with you all the way. i had my band done in aug. 07 and i am also at a stand still. im at a 3.0 cc fill in my band. yes i really stop and think if i want to eat what im going to eat. sometimes it goes down hard other times its ok. i know i need to work out more..... i walk for a mile two times a week and do floor and eliptical work outs the other three days . just isn't enough. tomarrow i go back and get weighted...we'll see , started at 268 and im at 238 on my last visit( good friday)want to be under 220 by june 8th . my sons graduation. thats my goal. whats yours? -
stopping smoking is to help your lungs for surgery. the better air amount you can get into your lungs the better you will do . it also helps with heeling. the % of oxygen you can get into you helps you heal faster. so i think it would be a good idea that you stop before surgery date. i know i had to do a lung test before my surgery date. and you could tell i was a smoker from the test . so yes it was hard ,but worth it .down 30 lbs in 7 months.slow but i just haven't found my perfect fill. my next one is good friday . im to the point i can't wait for friday to come .its like the next stage in your new life .

Do you burp more now that you are banded? (non-productive, just air)
jls replied to dustout's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
burping..... its like the drain is un-clogged and its letting the air out. you feel the pressure build and then when it dont dont come out (because it starts to hurt) i bend over front words and it like breaks the bands seal on my lower stomach .rooooooaaaaaaaaaaaar. lately i get a pressure feeling in my collar bones when gas builds. thats when i cant burp , usualy after i work and am walking all night at work. car ride home helps shake up things to get the burp out. -
Hi Shannan, pain is not to bad. each day after surgery you have a new pain and the last pain you had is gone.in about a week things start to get better.my diet was liquids for a good two weeks then soft foods were added in. i think the worst was getting the protine shakes down at first.reminded me of the diet shakes in my past.diet popcycles, water, broth soups, tea, and protien berry smothies were my meals.sleep alot for the first day or two . but you need to walk to get rid of the gas in you stomach after surgery.if you feel like you have alot of gas on you tummy i would bend over front ways and it would help let the air out of the lower stomach. sounds weard but it helped.well good luck on monday and have a great weekend.
