    Michigan Anyone? Binder ?

I didn't have an open surgery but I still wore one and continue to wear a tight spanx. I go to support groups and before surgery someone gave me that advice and I stuck with it. Until or if I do have the skin removed it helps me hold a nice hour glass figure.

    Looking for Buddy/Mentor...please

I love muscle milk and isopure both are great in water. The milk needs to go! Do 3 shakes a day and 80oz of water and vitamins! Also eat lean foods and zero sugar. This will help you for after surgery as well because you will need to do it the rest of your life.
  4. I get dumping syndrome from even 1 chocolate chip! Or from even skim milk or anything with sugar elements in it! I get the sweats feel like I am gonna puke and feel like I have the very worst hangover I ever had for an hr or two. As far as weight gain well grazing is the most common reason or eating past full.

    soft foods stage

I make chili n purée it and add crackers makes a great dish! Taste just like chili too.
  6. I don't feel good about this!? We are food addicts and lying seems to be a way of having an excuse down the road to fail. Maybe not right away but at some point and that would be one of my own personal failures ever. Not to mention if something goes wrong your going to not just want people to know but your going to need them to know! I have been clear and upfront with everyone since I got my surgery in 2007 and it has helped me become clear and upfront with myself about food and my eating habits. Just maybe talk to your therapist about it and dr see what their thoughts are on it. Honestly the sooner we quit caring what others think the sooner we can start living our truest best life.

    7 months slowdown/stall ?

When we get stuck I always ask am I drinking 80oz of water a day? Am I taking my vitamins? Am I drinking 2 25gram protein shakes a day? Trust me check that fix it and off you will go again. But yes the pouch test works great but stick to the pouch test diet. We become malnutritioned and dehydrated very easy!

    Heartburn(?)

I just measured everything until I was on solid food
  9. Listen guys you got this! Your body adjust trust me when you get stuck I have a secret I reboot by doing a week of liquids with some soft food but no carbs that are not beans or peanut butter so chili is allowed in moderation... don't tip your head back n chug it! You do have to blend it still. Also normally when we get stuck we are not doing one or all of three must always do things! 80oz of water a day! Vitamins as prescribed every day! 25grams of protein 2x a day always! PS! No carbonated liquids or sugar! Trust me you won't regret this! I had my bypass in 2007 at 457lbs today I am 133lbs and have been since 2009. So trust me you can do this! [emoji8]
  10. Vomiting and dry heaves are actually dangerous for us! Keep zofran on hand for this reason always!

    Calcium citrate

I would ask what your dr thinks about the absorption rate is of the chews mine tells me liquid gels are best.
  12. Oh goodness ok I had my surgery in 2007 at 357lbs and today I am 132lbs! So during my journey I have had plenty of trial n errors but I wasn't afraid to admit it and ask for help. Listen 3 things you can't go without or skimp on no matter what is 80oz of water, prescribed vitamins and 25grams of protein 2x a day! If you don't your gonna feel hungry, your gonna feel tired your gonna loose your hair your gonna over eat your gonna get light headed! Also really don't eat little bits of food through the day it's known as grazing and defeats the purpose of what the surgery is intended for. Weight loss... don't focus on the what failed instead focus on the why? Trust me it's going to get better and your going to love the new you!

    Everything tastes different

It's frustrating isn't it! Lol it actually has made me a fantastic cook though. I can't stand frozen boxed pre made food anymore so I just make everything from scratch and now it taste fine. Processed food helped get us to the mess we had become so steer clear of that baby.

    Protein!

The thing about protein is it's important to our survival after this surgery. Water, vitamins and protein are our 3 must always do's. They sustain our heart function and brain function along with helping aide us in weight loss and weight management. If you notice yourself being tired or loosing hair or scatter brained or gaining weight check yourself and ask am I drinking 80oz of water every day? Am I taking the dr recommended vitamins? Am I drinking 25 grams of protein 2x a day? I have learned when anything is off inside me I am slacking off on one of those things!
