    Chest pain

Sounds like what I'm experiencing and it's gas. Kind of happens right between the breasts. I'm told that's where our new tummy starts. Get you some Phazyme or Gas X.
  2. My surgery was on Feb. 16th and I am having a lot of gas pain. Also, I'm having a hard time getting the recommended fluid intake. I feel full so fast and I'm unable to get them all in. My incision pain is not bad. I'm just wanting something other than fluids and protein shakes!
  3. I was more afraid in January than February! Go figure! LOL! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I scheduled for Feb. 16 as well! The closer it gets, my anxiety level rises. I have even dreamt about the surgery. I have begun to tell myself that everything will be okay and any positive thoughts I can think of. The main one is that it is more dangerous for me to continue walking around in the state that I am in now than having the surgery. That has helped me tremendously. Find something to focus on that is positive and you will do fine. I start my pre-op diet on Thursday through next Wednesday. I'm trying to focus now on doing well with that and so far so good! I haven't had any anxiety! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. 1. I can't wait til I can get rid of my joint pain. 2. I can't wait til I can shop in misses instead of women's. 3. I can't wait to be able to sleep without my cpap. 4. I can't wait to be able to lean over comfortably and tie my shoes and polish my toenails. 5. I can't wait to willingly take a pic instead of hiding behind someone. 6. Once all of my paperwork and medical records were received and stress test and venous study done, it took about a week or so to get approved. I have BCBS of AL. I didn't have to have a psych evaluation but I do have a nutrition class coming up on the 8th and my surgery is on the 16th. I have to do a pre-op diet from Feb. 9th through 14th and the all day liquid diet on the 15. Keep calling and inquiring about it. Maybe you'll irk them enough to go ahead and do what needs to be done to get you approved. Good luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. You're probably mentally ready. I had my support group meeting and they had samples of Syntax matrix and nectar Protein powders to sample. I bought a strawberry kiwi nectar because it tastes like kook-aid. My surgery isn't until February 16 but I decided to try the nectar yesterday and today. I was full all day! I couldn't believe it so I really think it curbs the appetite a lot since it has a lot of protein. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Pre-op Testing

I had an echocardiogram, venous study, and a stress test. Their cardiologist reviewed my tests and gave the green light that I would be able to withstand the surgery. Another step closer

I went to my first consultation in April 2016. I didn't make a decision to have the surgery until November 2016. I took my time to decide if this what what I really wanted to do. I tried unsuccessfully, again, to try to lose weight on my own. I made the decision in November because I decided I wanted the part of my life back when it was fun and exciting. Not debilitating and filled with taking meds daily. I am 43 years old and have bursitis in both hips, Achilles tendonitis in both heels, arthritis in my right knee, lower back pain, asthma, sleep apnea, acid reflux, high blood pressure, and edema. I told myself that it's more dangerous to remain this way than to have the surgery. I want to be bend over and tie my shoes with ease, cross my legs, stand without having to count myself up. I know I won't be able to eat like I used to and I have already been practicing. I have found several cookbooks on Amazon pertaining to weight loss surgery and the recipes don't sound/look too bad. Think of what your goals are and how you think this surgery will help you attain them. Good luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Picky eater

There are several bariatric cookbooks on Amazon that are reasonable. Some of the recipes sound good to me! I am a very picky eater as well. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. Paperwork was submitted in early December and was approved in less than two weeks! My date is set for February 16. I'm excited, yet scared! Its been since the late 90's since I've had any type of major surgery. My surgery will be in Birmingham Alabama. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
