Considering cancelling surgery
Walter.Sobchak replied to erika702's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Do not cancel, that would be incredibly lame. I was scared before surgery and had thoughts about cancelling and I am so glad I didnt. I am down 100 pounds in 7 months and feeling much better. Life will be difficult after surgery as the surgery is not a cure all but just a tool to help you lose weight. Think about how many times you have tried to lose weight on your own, maybe you had success but did you have long term success? did you keep the weight off? Being scared is understandable as it is major surgery, but it will be well worth it. It will not be easy but you can do it. -

I should probably take measurements but I haven’t been. -
Hunger back and stomach capacity high?
Walter.Sobchak replied to ElseeG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That is possibly the best explanation I have read on this site. To the OP I had the same fear you do, right after surgery I was convinced my sleeve was too big because I could drink a lot of Water. Once I moved onto soft foods I realized my sleeve can only handle so much. I still think it is bigger than most, but I am also a big man. I can eat about 6 to 8 ounces of dense Protein in one sitting at 7 months post op. -
Quest protein is my favorite protein powder.

4 days, stomach growls, hungry
Walter.Sobchak replied to wjgo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was starving the morning after surgery. I know it was NOT head hunger, it was real hunger. -
Don’t take that crap. Your heart will explode. Like for realz explode. Not worth the risk. (I am not a doctor but used to take similar things and almost croaked).

Massive gut not shrinking
Walter.Sobchak replied to Walter.Sobchak's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lol, I have the flattest behind in the world. It is basically just legs straight into my back. -
I can see Adele. On an unrelated note I think Adele is incredibly overrated as a singer. Either way you are pretty.

I think my depression is easing
Walter.Sobchak replied to Mattymatt's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You no longer have the escape of food like you used to. You can no longer abuse food. Also, I think the weight loss has affected my medications as well. -

Yep, I am in the same boat. I am sick of it. This huge belly is not cool and I want it to shrink damnit. -
Anyone worried that eating behaviors wont change after surgery
Walter.Sobchak replied to Beautfully Flawed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Food is my drug of choice and I am struggling with managing healthy choices. I want to eat junk food when I am bored, sad, depressed. It is very hard for me. Life after WLS is harder than I imagined it would be. I have hit a stall at 100 pounds lost and it is making me feel worse. -

I think my depression is easing
Walter.Sobchak replied to Mattymatt's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Sadly, my depression is the same or slightly worse. My OCD is also worse. -
It is normal. Happens all the time, people post about it on here all the time. Don’t make a habit of it and learn from it and move forward.

how long was your pre-op diet?
Walter.Sobchak replied to spotsuns's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine was 3 weeks. Low carb and low fat for 3 weeks. -
Exercising with kids
Walter.Sobchak replied to atphiladephia's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have the same issue. I either have to go before the kids get up or after the kids go to bed. I don’t feel like doing either of those right now, so I am not exercising and my weight loss has stalled. -
Hello Peeps. How many carbs should we be taking in per day? Less than how many? I am roughly 7 months out. What should be my goal for calories and carbs? I know everyone is different so just looking for some general feedback. I am 6 foot 1 and 335 pounds.

Can’t Sleep Because of Hunger
Walter.Sobchak replied to NYCNomad's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Check with your surgeon but it should be fine. I was allowed to have them on my clear diet. I ate so many of them I cannot eat them anymore. Looking at them makes me sick. Hang in there, it will get easier. -
Lol, I hate Easter candy. Especially Peeps.

Hi, fairly new to this site and am posting my pics.
Walter.Sobchak replied to Kahkeetsee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good luck. The process can be long but it will be worth it. I am down 100 pounds in six months since surgery. -
