Knowing when full
Walter.Sobchak replied to cakes0329's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here. I am 8 days out and on full liquids. I can eat Greek yogurt and baby food and pureed soups and I don't feel full ever. Has me scared my sleeve is too big. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app -
The reality of losing my drug of choice is setting in. Food was my last drug I could abuse. I gave up alcohol and drugs nearly 10 years ago, been sober ever since. Food was something I could abuse and now it is gone. It is a Friday evening, I worked a few rough days at work and I want my normal escape. I want pizza and wings and video games. Those days are gone and it is hitting me hard. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

I don't know if I am making the right decision
Walter.Sobchak replied to Knightsaber88's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was just sleeved 8 days ago, it has been hard but I have no regrets yet. Your friend that is afraid of losing you as a drinking buddy doesn't sound like a very good friend. I am surprised your parents don't support you, would they rather see you unhappy and obese? It basically comes down to what you want to do. Don't let other people's selfish reasons deter you from getting it. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app -
Thank you, I am doing pretty good today. I told my wife maybe tomorrow when I don't have work. I am hoping things just continue to get better. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

That's what I am saying. I am not overly sore, but sore enough. And like I said, I have no desire to right now. She is down 80 pounds since her sleeve and pre op diet so she wants it all the time. I am half dead and trying to heal and get healthier. I am hoping my sex drive comes back once I get some weight off, but I am damn near 40 and might be past my prime. I am only a week out and my wife is pressuring me for it. I really do not have the desire or the energy right now. However, I know she needs the intimacy and closeness. I don't want to rupture my suture line and croak mid sex. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

I am only one week out, so I am not on regular food yet but someone on here said you really won't feel the full sensation until you are eating regular foods. I haven't felt full with liquids. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

Surgery was the EASY part

I did see a few douchebags that were basically on here to troll, but I don't much of them anymore. Maybe they were banned? I only see a handful of people offering suggestions and support. Such is life. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

Beware of Quest protein powder
Walter.Sobchak replied to Missytee's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I love quest protein powder. The cannister usually isn't full to the brim. Never actually stopped to count the servings, but I have noticed a new can isn't full to the top. Might have been an error on the company's end. The powder is awesome with Unsweetened Almond milk. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app -
Ok, how bad did this REALLY hurt??!
Walter.Sobchak replied to Aginn10's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My wife was in severe pain after her sleeve, but she also had a lot of scar tissue from numerous abdominal surgeries. She had two C sections, gall bladder removed, appendix removed, and hiatal hernia repair. She was in really bad pain. She was doing good about a week after surgery. I was sleeved 5 days ago, never had an abdominal surgery before, and the pain wasn't too bad. Like Allie said, felt like my abs had been shredded from sit-ups. I feel fine today and stopped the pain meds on Sunday. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app -
You might be on to something. These hunger pains are awful. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

frustration!!
Walter.Sobchak replied to willowwaters's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My preop diet was 3 weeks before surgery. I see alot of people saying there's was 2 weeks before surgery. Some people say their doctor required liquids only for the weeks leading up to surgery. Mine was simply low carb and low fat. Two days of clears before surgery. The really hard part is post op. I am 5 days post op and I am so hungry and can only have clear liquids. I am not sure. He never said anything about an acid blocker. I had my surgery here in the states and my surgeon has been doing bariatric surgery for close to 20 years. I see him in a couple weeks, I will ask about it. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

Gastric sleeve surgery
Walter.Sobchak replied to Comoras mom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Depends on your insurance requirements. 6 months seems to be the typical amount of time they require. It will also depend on what your surgeon requires you to do. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app -
I can't believe how hungry I am, I was not mentally prepared for this. It is not "head hunger" my stomach is growling and I am starving. I remember my wife experiencing the same thing and I thought it was all in her head. On a lighter note, I am down 30 pounds including the three week pre op diet and I have noticed some changes. It is easier for me to get up out of bed and easier for me to get up off the couch. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

No, not taking anything for gas. All I can tolerate is red Gatorade and sleepy time tea. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

I am so hungry it isn't funny. I thought I wouldn't be hungry post surgery but I definitely am. My stomach is actually growling. Nothing sounds good to me. Broth makes me nauseous. I have had some sugar free Popsicles. Red Gatorade has been helpful as well. The clear protein drinks are awful. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

Thank you all. I feel ok. Just really sore, like if I did a ton of sit-ups and now my abs are shredded. So far, no buyers remorse or regrets. Haven't cried at all yet either. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

Surgery is tomorrow, I am on day two of clear liquids and it is awful. I was dreaming about food last night. This his been the most challenging part of the preop experience. I have to get through today and surgery is in the morning. I am so damn hungry. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

Two days of clears is AWFUL
Walter.Sobchak replied to Walter.Sobchak's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That's pretty funny, you must have been stressed about work. My wife and I have to drive like 1.5 hours to get to my surgeon, so I will have a long car ride to stress and then all the preop stuff. Plus, I hate getting IV's put in. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app -

Thank you. I am so hungry right now. Just sitting here drinking ice water. Getting ready to go to sleep. I am scared and anxious for tomorrow. I have to do this, I will literally eat myself to death if I don't. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
