  1. It typically depends on what your insurance requirements are. Six months of working with a dietician and office visits seems to be the norm. Some insurance companies require less. You may be required to lose a certain amount of weight before hand. There is usually a psyche evaluation required. An ultrasound, and ekg, an egd. All kinds of stuff. It will be a lengthy process. Hope this helps. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pains

Maybe stick to full liquids and don't try soft foods yet? I don't know, just a thought. It sounds like just swallowing is causing you pain, so I don't know if that will help. If it were me, I would probably just do liquids for now. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

Gaining weight with a new phase?

My dietician and doctor both said to expect about 1.5 pounds a weeks. So, if you could do 2 pounds a week times 52 weeks that would be over 100 pounds in a year. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

    My sleeve is too big

How would I know if my sleeve is too big? I feel like I am able to take in too much. I feel like my sleeve is able to hold more than my wife's and we were sleeved by the same surgeon. He said he uses the same device to measure the sleeve. He also told my wife after surgery that he had to do a lot of cutting on me as I had a huge stomach. I also suffer from OCD and maybe I am just creating unneeded stress for myself. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

    2 Week Follow Up

I don't know. I am wondering the same thing. Supposedly our ghrelin production is less so we won't feel hunger. However, I am pretty hungry except right after I eat. Then I am hungry like two hours later. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I know, I was starving the day after surgery. I don't understand how we can be hungry with 85% of our stomach cut out. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

    2 Week Follow Up

I haven't been weighing it out. I did buy a measuring cup to measure out 1/2 a cup. I am hoping once I start dense protein I won't be so hungry all the time and I can keep my calories low. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

Please help...need reality check! Slipping up!

I see a psychologist, there is no shame in it. He has helped me alot. We have begun addressing my food addiction. Like others have said, don't beat yourself up too much. That will only make you want to eat more. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

You were recently sleeved right? Wasn't it just a few months ago? I understand emotional eating but you have to get control. Do you have a support group? Do you see a counselor or therapist? Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

    My sleeve is too big

I see my surgeon tomorrow, I am always hungry. My stomach actually growls. It was my understanding that the surgery would remove the ghrelin and I wouldn't feel as hungry. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Sex after VSG- ladies?

My wife was sleeved 10 weeks ago. She wants to jam all the time. She is hornier than when we were newly weds. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. I had been told by my surgeon and my dietician that surgery was going to be the easy part of this journey. I did not believe them. I had seen people say that on this forum and I did not believe them. I was so scared about my surgery, I couldn't see how that would be the easy part. Here I am six days post op and I realize that surgery really was the EASY part. I am back to work and stressed out and all I want to do is eat something and I cannot. These next few weeks are going to be tough. Having said that, I do not have any buyers remorse. Anyone that is getting close to their surgery date, be prepared as surgery is going to be the easy part. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery was the EASY part

  19. Mine was outpatient. I actually handled it really well. Have you had abdominal surgery before? Maybe you had a lot of scar tissue? Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. I suffer from Major Depressive Disorder. It has been hard without comfort food. My wife said I look Grey. I am tired and hungry. But I still do not regret the surgery. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. It is going to be a rough week or so, then it will get better. I am 15 days out and feeling good physically. Not so great mentally. The first week was by far the worst. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery was the EASY part

That has been the hardest part for me, the emotional side. I thought I had prepared myself for life post surgery and I was wrong. It has been much harder than I anticipated. I am in recovery and do not drink or drug anymore been sober 10 years. Food was the last thing I could abuse. Now it is gone and I can't abuse it anymore. It has been very hard. However, my body does feel alot better just with the 35 pounds I have lost. Only 175 pounds more to go. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery was the EASY part

Yes ma'am, I am pretty hardcore. All kidding aside, I didn't want to come back. But I work for a bunch of assholes and didn't want to miss too much time. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. It's weird, I could drink water no problem the day after surgery. My wife could hardly take in water after surgery. I had no issues. Sent from my SM-G900V using BariatricPal mobile app
