7days out and hungry....... or is it my head
Walter.Sobchak replied to Slevedbanana's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It is real. I was starving the morning after surgery. I cant explain why but I was so flipping hungry. People kept telling me it was head hunger but I can assure you it was very real. -
Am I behind. I think I'm behind
Walter.Sobchak replied to Toomanytacos's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, I felt the same way. I am convinced my wife's sleeve is smaller than mine. I still wonder about how fast it is coming off. I also suffer from an anxiety disorder and can relate. Try not to weigh yourself too often, that is one thing I have had to learn. Also take measurements and see if you are losing inches instead of pounds. Your body needs time to adjust to the drastic change it is experiencing. -
Hello, Have any of you noticed that your sleeve is tighter when you wake up? It seems to me that when I wake up and take my pills and a few gulps of water my sleeve hurts. Have any of you noticed the same thing?

Am I behind. I think I'm behind

Stop eating so many tacos, just kidding. My doctor and dietician said to expect about 1.5 to 2 pounds a week. Are you averaging that? Do not be too hard on yourself, the weight will come off. This is a marathon and not a sprint. -
I was scared too. I am telling you surgery will be the easy part. All you have to do is show up and get your IV started. The rest is easy, you wake up in recovery. Then the hard part begins. Life after WLS is harder than I expected. It is getting easier but still hard. I wanted pizza and wings tonight for the super bowl and had to fight the urge to order it.

CPAP Nightmare?!?!
Walter.Sobchak replied to blind unicorn's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried Nasal Pillows? That is what I use and I don’t mind them. -
Don’t even sweat it. The surgery is a breeze. The hard part will be life after surgery. I was terrified of the surgery and it was a cake walk. Life after surgery has been a ****** now that I can’t abuse food anymore.

I say, close this thread. It’s no longer productive and has only lead to arguing.

Dating Pre-Op?
Walter.Sobchak replied to Jerseygirl4523's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just tell him -
I had to do two days of liquids preop and it sucked balls.

Thank you, just trying to be silly with my wife. I thought we were talking about WLS, not cardiac surgery. That is why I chimed in with my two cents.

I believe the six month waiting period and psyche evaluation are pretty standard. That is what my insurance required. Six months of weigh ins and office visits, psyche evaluation, EGD, clearance from primary doctor. All kinds of stuff before approval.

4 Months and Down 80 pounds
Walter.Sobchak replied to Walter.Sobchak's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you my friend. I have been wanting to get moving again and feeling some slight motivation. Like you said, even if I could just start with walking for like 10-15 mins I am sure it would make a difference. -
4 Months and Down 80 pounds
Walter.Sobchak replied to Walter.Sobchak's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had hit a pretty bad stall, but it finally broke. I am now down 90 pounds total. If I could just get motivated to excercise, I could drop more weight and faster. -
This thread made my head hurt. Yes, pre op and surgery were actually the easy part. Life after surgery is waaaaaay harder than I thought it would be. I also relapsed after 9 years of continuous sobriety, 3 months after WLS. Sober again today, but almost died from my relapse.

Can We Get a Little Drama Going Around These Parts Please?
Walter.Sobchak replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Woah, let’s get back to all the talk about sex toys. I would love to hear more about women and their sex toys. My wife won’t mind. Weight is coming off, sex drive is coming back........oh wait, my psychiatrist started me on a different medication and my Schwanns is literally numb now. It’s a cruel twist of fate that anti depressants also have sexual side effects. -

Glad you are starting to feel better. Wellbutrin literally made me crazy, I had to go off of it. -

My doctor asked me if I was on any XR beforehand, fortunately I was not. Like the other poster said, maybe you can ask again. I personally had no issues taking my meds and I take like 8 pills each morning. I hate having mental illness, but it is something we live with everyday. -
Hello everyone, What are the time frames when we should expect stalls? What months? How many weeks? I am about 13 weeks out and feel like I have hit a stall. Thank you

When to expect stalls?
Walter.Sobchak replied to Walter.Sobchak's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah, I feel like my clothes are getting looser on me. I must be losing inches. -

As I have said before, I could eat 8 McDoubles in one sitting. Now I can only eat one (which isn’t very often).
