    Salad - 4 months out

Your body cannot digest the leafy greens like it use to..and besides, unless you're adding a ton of chicken to your salad, you're not getting the Protein that you need anyway. Salad for bypass patients is a waste of time and energy...Once you're over a year out you can "stomach" it a bit better...but even then it can get stuck and cause you issues. Best of luck! Looking for Buddy/Mentor...please

@@pvechiola I get super sick when I eat more than 6 grams of sugar with my meal. Its a form of dumping syndrome...shakes, hot flashes, super tired. Stay clear. As far as shakes are concerned, you should use Premier Protein. You can find them at costco specifically. They are low in calories and sugar (super important) and have 30 grams of protein. Muscle milk is ok, but get the light. I eat a yogurt every single morning for Breakfast. The Oikos black is good because it is low in sugar and high in protein. Greek yogurt is better than regular. I really like Dannon Light & fit greek yogurt. It has 80 calories and 12 grams of protein. I add mandarin oranges to it for my fruit. I also get the no sugar added and packed in Water. I hope this helps!!

    A vain NSV story.

Oh my gosh, I LOVE this! This is exactly how I feel about my sister-in-law. She is a HORRIBLE person! She lost a ton of weight and told everyone that she just "put the fork down". I'm convinced she had the band. After I had my surgery and lost WAY more weight than her, she just stares from across the room. No shame in your post, I love it!!!! Linda

    Alcohol

One shot will knock you on your ass and probably make you pass out. My first sip was a year after surgery and my doctor said that even that (a bit of wine) is pushing it. You will get SUPER drunk SUPER quick and...being so soon after surgery, your tummy can't handle that kind of thing. I would certainly not advise it but as @@OKCPirate said...you are an adult. I wish you the best of luck! Peer pressure can be the hardest thing to handle. linda www.fatontheinsideblog.wordpress.com

    7 mths post op

Having stalls is 100% completely normal. Your body is trying to adjust to the crazy new stuff you're doing to it. I assume you're taking in less than 1000 calories a day at this point yet. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I stalled around 5 months and again at 9 months. Totally normal. Keep being conscious of what you're eating and make sure you're being physical and you'll start to loose again. Remember, you're body is trying to hold on to as much fat as it can. Good luck!! 2 (TWO) periods in 1 month?!?

Mine was rather normal but last month I was 10 day late and this month I've had it for 14 days straight. My doctor said its because of all the hormone changes and its completely normal. I hope this helps!! Linda www.fatontheinsideblog.wordpress.com

    When does appetite return?

To this day (1.5 years out) I am still not hungry. I only eat because I know I should. I would say give it another few weeks before you start to actually want to eat. Just make sure you're drinking your Protein shakes. Did you doctor suggest Pure Protein? They are the best... the least amount of calories and the most protein. You can find them at costco for sure. I like those the best. Keep doing what you're doing!!! LInda www.fatontheinsideblog.wordpress.com

Day 4 of liquid pre op diet

The pre-op diet is just the beginning my friend. I remember when I was a week out after surgery and I went to the gas station to pump gas. You know how they have those advertisements of the nasty gas station food inside? Oh my lord, I would have given my right leg for a gas station cheese burger. i wouldnt normally want something like that but my brain wanted food SO bad! i wanted to CHEW something!!! I promise you, it will get better and much easier! I couldn't have physically eaten that burger anyway...but i will never forget how bad I wanted it! lol good luck!!! www.fatontheinsideblog.wordpress.com

    Help me please

Blizair09 speaks the truth. If you can't handle the liquid diet now...what are you going to do after you have the surgery? This is a LIFESTYLE change, not a magic pill. Once you have that surgery, its real. EVERY SINGLE DAY is a struggle. I just started a blog that talks about my love and addiction of food. That will never change. I have to start every single day saying that I'm going to eat healthy and do what I should and not cheat. I could eat all day long and if I did, I would start to gain my weight back. This surgery is only a tool to help you get on track. I wish you the best of luck and I hope that you find the willpower to stay strong. You can do it! www.fatontheinsideblog.wordpress.com

    Weight Loss Slow Down!

Everyone has "stalls". Your body is trying SO hard to keep up with everything. 50 pounds is a huge accomplishment but its also scary for your body and it doenst know what to do. Your body thinks you're starving it and so its trying to hold on to every last bit of fat that it can. Don't worry, it will start to come off again, I promise. You'll stall again in the future, just don't panic. www.fatontheinsideblog.wordpress.com

    SUGAR!

YES! What you are experiencing is a type of dumping syndrome. Its your bodies way of saying you shouldn't have eaten that. I know that I cannot take in more than 6 grams of sugar at a time or I'll get super sick with all of the symptoms you've listed. Try to watch that sugar intake because your body can't handle it now. Good luck!
