  1. I don't intend to tell the staff I'm a nurse. That way I'm just another patient with all the same fears and expectations. Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  2. Love to hear good outcomes. It really helps preop because time seems to move so slowly.Well done. 2.5 weeks before my op. Can't wait. Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  3. Feeding my cats this morning and I had a weird thought. The volume of food they eat will be about the same as me post-op!! LOL Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  4. Hi. I'm an aussie and have been reading all the posts about insurance and long waiting periods in the US. It's so different here. If you have health insurance you already know what your policy covers so no approvals required. So this makes the process much quicker. I saw my surgeon late Nov and my surgery is in 2 weeks. Could have been earlier if not for Xmas/New Year holidays, requiring a gastroscopy and my surgeon away on leave. I don't know if I could have coped waiting for up to a year for this surgery. Hats off to all of you who keep going. It's all going to worth it. I'm so excited for my surgery. Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  5. Hi aussiecosy. You're doing great. I start my 2 weeks soon and I too know it will be a challenge. Keep up your Water also. That will help. Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App
  6. I have seen the anaethetist. It makes it feel so real now. I'm an afternoon case so allowed to have a shake for early Breakfast then Water only up to midday. Didn't really think about what it will be like post op night as my surgeon kind of glossed over that. So I know I will have a IV pain pump, calf pumps with stockings and heparin injections to prevent clots. Should have realised all this. I am a nurse but now I will be a patient. Major position reversal. But reassuring that all bases are covered to ensure all goes well. Sent from my SM-N920I using the BariatricPal App

  13. Glad to see fellow Aussies out there. I have Feb 9 date for surgery in Perth. Finally! Excited. My surgeon doesn't mandate liquid diet but I will be doing it as I have fatty enlarged liver. Going to get in best physical shape to ensure safe surgery. He recommends Isopure Zero drinks. Very high in Protein and comes in about 6 flavours including tea. Have to buy on line.
