    Anybody in Jersey?!

You are in safe hands with either Cooper or virtua. Both are very comprehensive and informative programs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Lost my insurance POST OP

If your surgery was done in Mexico then you have to consider alternatives. But if it was done locally then the safest route would be to establish yourself with a specialist in this field. PCPs are great but they are not specialist. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I am a nurse as well and I agree with you 100%. Protein is the key to "wound" healing. Any doctor that recommends not eating protein post surgery should not be considered a candidate to do your surgery. It is just not medically correct. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Liquid Foods- Day 1 & 2 and beyond.

I cannot believe that your procedure was done as an outpatient. This is something that should never be done as an outpatient. Dehydration can be life-threatening and is the major cause for readmission from the procedure. I don't understand doctors that work like this. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I think that you should ask about whether or not testing was done post surgery to check for leaks. My surgeon runs a dye through to see if there are leaks before I was even extubated. I would ask for the medical records that show it was done. If it was not done, this wsd not done correctly. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Lost my insurance POST OP

Do you have to get follow up with a gastric bypass surgeon. You have to established yourself with another sergeant that takes your insurance. You will have to see your gastric surgeon for the rest of your life. Your visits will become less frequent but you need to establish yourself with someone. Call your insurance and find out surgeons in your area. Your current surgeons office should work cooperatively with your new surgeons office considering the insurance situation. Get into see them and get into see them quick. Your primary care physician should not do the follow up care for this type of procedure. 7. I have your answer. Walk, walk, walk, walk. Bring your foley and walk. That pain is caused by gas and air. I am a nurse as well and just had my surgery on January 5. I felt exactly as you did and just found out today that this is what relieved it almost entirely. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Losing fast after surgery

Hi there. The weight loss amount should be fine. Some people lose a lot and some people or less however the most important thing is that you are in taking at least the minimum requirements for Protein, fluids, and calories that your plan calls for. Otherwise you could end up in the hospital needing hydration Iv fluids Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
